Balochistan - Haris Sohail (captain), Bismillah Khan (vice-captain, wicketkeeper), Abdul Wahid Bangalzai Akbar-ur-Rehman, Akhtar Shah, Ammad Butt, Awais Zia, Imam-ul-Haq, Imran Butt, Kashif Bhatti, Khurram Shahzad, Taimur Khan, Taj Wali, Umar Gul, Usama Mir and Yasir Shah

Northern - Imad Wasim (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Ali Imran, Asif Ali, Farzan Raja, Haider Ali, Hammad Azam, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Musa Khan, Rohail Nazir (wicketkeeper), Sohail Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Amin and Zeeshan Malik

Northern need to change their captain again, two games I watched under Imad captaincy they looked lackluster. Nawaz also needs to be kicked out, and Rohail given chance to bat in top middle order.

Northern have won the toss and elected to bat firstIMG-20201015-WA0011.jpgIMG-20201015-WA0010.jpg

Hmm, would have been nice if Northern played their main attack in the last match before knockouts so that the team as a whole finds some form.

But Mohammad Wasim is doing justice to his role - one of his tasks is player development, not just winning, and now that Northern have a confirmed place in the semis, he is giving opportunities to Sohail Akhtar, Amir (who has been out due to injury) and Muhammad Ismail.

Kudos to him, though as a Northern fan I would also enjoy the best XI every match :))

Haider is such a treat to watch. Between Haider, Babar, and Abdullah Shafiq, we might have a very stylish batting lineup for the first time in many years...

Add Saud Haris.....too....Abdul Wahid if he find his feet

Good to see Haider not trying to slog every ball towards legside. He is more capable than this, should not try to become another Umar Akmal

Agreed boils my blood when he does that much better today after struggling with his hacks.

Impressed by Ali Imran. Also kudos to Muhammad Wasim for benching Umar Amin after that selfish knock the other day.

Poor appeal, poor decision, poor celebration by Akhtar Shah.

That was clearly sliding down leg...

Akhter shah reminds me of Sreesanth.. same bad attitude.

Was celebrating like he just got a hat trick of Kohli, Smith, and Babar. Then you look at the scorecard and see the team at 150 after 15 overs, with him responsible for 30 runs in his first 2. Then you look back up, see the replay of the “lbw” and watch him bowl from wide of the crease, with Haider Ali’s off stump showing.

You would think it’s the World Cup final, the way he screams and pumps the air.

Ali Imran looks solid more often than not. Needs to fine tune his game further and produce bigger scores. I hope Moh Wasim will play him in 4day cricket as well because, I think he has the technique and that will allow him to polish his game further.

He should leave cricket and try his luck at pehelwani.. Might do much better there

Man's was just letting off some steam. :ds

Northern team for semis might be like this
Ali Imran
Zeeshan Malik
Haider Ali
Shadab Khan
Asif Ali
Umer Amin
Rohail Nazir
Imad Wasim
Sohail Tanvir
Haris Rauf
Amir

Ali, Zeeshan, Haider, Rohail, Shadab, Asif, Hamad, Imad, Amir, Rauf, Musa.

I feel like this is their best XI and almost unbeatable barring a very bad day.

Not for the first time, Shadab strikes with 2 quick wickets to break the momentum of the opposition. Yet, the haters only find their voices in his occasional off-game, otherwise are nowhere to be found...

They wait for his off day to call him specialist fielder, yet he excels in 4 disciplines including captaincy. He is vital in limited over cricket and can be developed as a good test player if a place can be found for him depending on team combination.

Northern’s fielding is in the gutter - looks completely different to the side that showed up for the first 5 games of the tournament.

I’ve never liked Imad Wasim as a captain.

Mickey Arthur, Inzamam ul Haq, and Misbah ul Haq, these men had their differences and wildly varied in approach to the Pakistan team. All three of them agreed on one thing: Shadab Khan has excellent game sense and is a future Pakistan captain.

Balochistan is a crap team if Imam doesn't score big. Unfortunately Imam was run out

Akif's absence is also being felt big time. He was possibly their biggest strength in bowling.

With the poor net run rate, South Punjab is kinda already out of the tournament. Hence, Balochistan vs South Punjab would decide whether Balochistan or Central Punjab qualify as the 4th team.

So, Baluch has one last game against Southern Punjab to kick out both Punjab teams....

Syed1 choti choti khushian, then it's you who cry regional card, anyway this provincial rivalry should grow for sake of this structure to work, and don't worry sindh are aslo lucky to be in semis and ain't winning the title. So chill man.

:) bro, Punjab made absolute blunders during the draft - they didn’t notice who’ll be available or fit and allowed their players to be drafted by others - and now both are at bottom.

In sports there should be & must be regional bias - that’s why they play home & away. You don’t know how fierce the rivalries between Catalans (Barca) & Basks (Real) is... and that’s in every country, sports - Liverpool - MU, NSW-Victoria, Mumbai- Delhi, Lancashire- Yorkshire, Barbados- Jamaica, Flemango (Rio) - Vasco (Sao Paolo), Lakers - Celtics, Cowboys-Steelers, Yankee’s-Red Sox, PSG - Marseille, Bavarians (Bayern) - Raineland (BVB Dortmund), Turin-Milan-Rome trio

Nothing wrong there - as long the National unity is there in terms of identity, foreign policy, human right & economic parity.

Definitely that's what's required in doesmtic to give players a chance and develop them

Haider can play both sides of the wicket and isnt just a slugger he can score normal and stil go at 150+but prefers the leg side

Haider Ali’s scintillating 86 set a 39-run win for Northern against Balochistan in the 27th match of the National T20 Cup First XI tournament played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday. This was Northern’s seventh win in nine matches.

The right-handed batsman along with Ali Imran, who blasted 41 off 22 at the back of three sixes and four fours, provided a sparkling start to Northern with a 92-run opening stand from just 8.3 overs.

He then weathered the storm in a 50-run alliance, formed over 26 balls, with Shadab Khan after Northern slipped to 101 for three with the dismissals of Sohail Akhtar (one off two) and Asif Ali (three of seven) in nine balls.

Haider dismissed by Akhtar Shah, promoted to Balochistan’s First XI team after an impressive run in the Second XI National T20 Cup, on the last ball of the 15th over – struck five sixes and eight fours in the 50 balls he faced as he scored his 86 runs at a strike rate of 172. He was later named man-of-the-match.

This was the 20-year-old’s second half-century of the tournament and fourth of his overall T20 career and proved to be instrumental in helping Northern, the table-toppers, post an imposing 199 for six.

Reflecting on his match-defining innings, Haider said: “I am quite happy that I have received a man-of-the-match award at my home ground. I am making a comeback so it was important for me to adjust to the conditions.

“Opening the batting helped me in that regard as I got ample time to read them before I played my shots freely.”

Following Haider’s dismissal, Shadab, who by then had made 15 off 10, took the lead role as he finished on 42 not out from 27.

Balochistan’s Amad Butt took two wickets for 29 runs.

Balochistan, in the reply, crumbled after a 69-run opening stand between Imam-ul-Haq and Awais Zia. The partnership was broken in the eighth over as Imam, who made the highest score of the innings with 35 off 21 balls, was run out.

Shadab’s leg-spin aggravated the situation for Balochistan as the 22-year-old dismissed Awais (34 off 27, two fours and two sixes) and Bismillah Khan (0 off one) on back-to-back balls in the ninth over.

A 37-run partnership between Haris Sohail and Abdul Wahid Bangalzai for the fourth wicket followed. But, that could not help Balochistan bounce back into the match as they failed to recover from the earlier collapse and finished 39 runs short.

Northern’s Shadab and Mohammad Ismail finished with two wickets apiece.

Scores in brief

Northern beat Balochistan by 39 runs

Northern 199-6, 20 overs (Haider Ali 86, Shadab Khan 42 not out, Ali Imran 41; Amad Butt 2-29)

Balochistan 160-8, 20 overs (Imam-ul-Haq 35, Awais Zia 34, Haris Sohail 28; Shadab Khan 2-13; Mohammad Ismail 2-32)

Player of the match – Haider Ali (Northern)

MMHS in the same post itself i stated that this regional rivalry is must for popularity of this new regional structure, and in long run they should try to add most players to their respective region, and only add extra players to the other weaker regions, like baluchistan, but that posted just think everything Punjabi is worth criticizing. And as per this tournament it's strange to say how both punjab teams performed and are at bottomu, out of six teams it take special blunders to be in this position.

True - Punjab was the heart of British Indian cricket, still is; now parted in two countries. Still, in PAK, the Northerns are part of original Punjab while in India their two of the best teams - Delhi & Haryana are part of old Punjab. I think, only Khusdil is major “import” in these two teams, but they have allowed to leave MoHa, Malik, Haris, Wahab, Imam, Asif Ali, Sohail Akhtar, Amad......

Khushdil and Naseem from KPK.

While the South Punjab captain, Shan, is a Karachi boy through and through
