Nawaz Sharif in London due to illness - Discussion Thread

I graduated and now I'm building sonars for submarines for Lockheed Martin. Aur kuch?

My point still stands he deals with heart and lungs, but what does that have to do with platelet count??

He is a consultant btw.

100% sure you thought he was a white guy and not some Indian with dubious background.

Btw he has a 1 star rating on Google reviews. Granted just three reviews, but not a very good start :))

I certainly won't be taking my relatives here.

May God help L-M if they have hired people with your thought-process.

And your point doesn’t still stand. Your point has been rubbished because you were ignorant over the distinction between a cardiothoracic specialist and a cardiologist.

Nawaz Sharif has a history of heart problems and he has low platelets. Do you know what platelets are? Do you know where they are found? Do you know what blood is? Do you know where blood is pumped from? I am sure you secured passing marks in biology in school.

So now you are going to judge doctors by Google reviews, that too when the sample size is only 3? How much straw is left for you to clutch?

And again, what has his background got to do with it? And on what grounds is his background “dubious”? Is being an Indian enough for you to label someone dubious?

So apparently, just because he is of Indian origin, we have to believe that he is part of a grand conspiracy since India supposedly have a soft spot for Nawaz?

The level of intellect of Imran Khan worshippers amaze me. It appears that your world class education has not helped you at all.

Didnt he have 3 days to live? Why did he go straight to hospital and get treatment. Remember last year he was given 6 weeks by the courts as medical bail and he ended up threatening THE CROOKED JUDGE.

Why don’t you take the doctors to court if you think they have made fake reports and were paid off? What is stopping you?

And what do you mean by “he is a consultant btw”

Yeah he is. So?

Your just getting desperate now. Your ignorance of the law is on par with your knowledge of medicine. Why has he had no treatment, he was supposed to be at deaths door, as i remember, 3 days to live :shh
Surely he needed treatment urgently. Are his Doctors trying to kill him? :ds

Why don’t you take these doctors to court? It appears that you have sufficient evidence to conclude that they have made fake reports and accepted bribes.

So why not put your money where your mouth is?

Why don’t you take the doctors to court if you think they have made fake reports and were paid off? What is stopping you?

What a stupid statement- you tagged me and now once again you are running with your tail between your legs. NS and his family accused IK of trying to kill him( and some illiterate quack on here) and he was critical and was dying and year later he hasnt been treated. Why not?

Run baby run. Your ignorance has been exposed, you wanted to come and here to celebrate and now you are running. If he is critical as his lawyer said in the IHC today, why has not be treated. Oh god, your not saying his Doctors lied last year. How dare you, you trusted them and they made a complete buffoon out of you.:broad

Khuda ke waaste behas karna band kardo for these politicians who don’t give a F to Pakistan and to it’s awaam.

The sad reality is our politicians come for the money and not to serve the country.

It is about time we people change as a society.

Small steps matter. We have failed as a society and as a country because of this.

You are the one who is running.

You categorically claimed that these reports are fake and the doctors were paid money. I asked you that if you really believe that, why don’t you challenge them in court and have their licenses revoked. So why did you chicken out?

Why not put your money where your mouth is?

If you have proof why don’t you bring it forward?

Once again you have no concept of a the laws in the UK. I am not a party any way or form to his reports, so what basis do i challenge them:shh
As i said you tagged me, hoping that once in your life you could get one over me but as you know you are not bright enough do that, all you have shown is that you are pindoo quack with little or no knowledge of any laws. So once again, i ask you to tell me if you believe the Doctors that told you he was critical condition and was at deaths door. I told you at the time it was rubbish and i was right. So do you want to apologise to me for your ignorance and bow to my greater Medical knowledge

Why did PTI-appointed doctors declare him critical when they examined him in the prison cell? Remember - had they not goofed up, he would still be locked up.

Nawaz is in London because of the incompetence of PTI.

But today you are saying he is critical- so which Doctors got it wrong? I say both were wrong, why do you say?

Once again - as a UK citizen, you have the legal right to take a fellow UK citizen to court. If you think these doctors have forged fake reports and have accepted bribes (both are legally recognized crimes) then you can challenge them in court and have their licenses revoked.

So what is stopping you? Why don’t you have the courage to walk the talk? What is the point of making allegations while hiding behind a computer and a username?

Do you think you can get away by misquoting and taking posts out of context? Go back to the first page and read our exchange from the first post.

Your position was that he is healthy as a horse and this is all a drama. I cornered you by stating that even if we assume that it is a drama and he is not critical, then the blame still falls on PTI because they appointed a team of doctors to examine him in jail.

So if he is critical than PTI needs to be ashamed for playing politics on someone’s health. They did it over Kulsoom Nawaz as well, and she had to die to shut them up.

And if he is not critical, than it is still PTI’s fault because their team of doctors got fooled.

So I asked you to pick and choose one option and you danced around both questions and did your typical “aye baye shaye”.

There is absolutely no question marks over his condition after the reports of the two highly qualified doctors from the UK. It is all the proof anyone needs.

However, as an Imran worshipper, if you refute these claims and are accusing them of forging fake reports and accepting bribes, why don’t you prove your claims in court and why not have their licenses revoked? What are you afraid of?

I didnt quote you out of context, i actually did a you a service by not quoting all the tripe you post. Here is one the LHC has stood up to the establishment to LHC is a tool. There are contradictory quotes from on every page. The guy has claimed the same illnesses as long as i can remember but it didnt stop him being PM. Your a quack and has no idea what the hell is going. You have not answered why he hasnt received treatment in 10months, why if he is at deaths door he isnt in hospital or has even been admitted to hospital even one. Your ignorance is completed by asking me to challenge it in court, when i have no legal interest in the matter. The only person more exposed for his lies other than NS is you.

So the IHC called the report a fake and declared him an Absconder. So quack who was right, me or you. The difference between ghulams of the mafia like you and educated people like us is that we see through this rubbish and finally the IHC also saw through this crap. And guess who wasnt on this bench?

If NS participates, PTI should update the courts about his so called ill health

LONDON / ISLAMABAD: After ostensibly staying away from public meetings and political activity for more than a year, PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif will virtually attend the opposition-led multiparty conference (MPC) scheduled to be held on Sunday (tomorrow).

Soon after PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari tweeted that he telephoned Mr Sharif in London to invite him to attend the MPC online, sources told Dawn the former prime minister would attend the conference.

Senator Musadik Malik on a Samaa TV talk show confirmed Nawaz Sharif’s participation and said that the former PM would attend virtually and also address the MPC. “Maryam Nawaz will also attend the MPC,” said Mr Malik.

While other party representatives, including Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, have shared their views on ongoing cases and the political situation from time to time, Nawaz Sharif has stayed away from publicly commenting or engaging with the media for the last two years. In London, where he has been since November 2019, Nawaz Sharif has maintained a low public profile and refrained from responding to journalists’ questions about various political developments. Although he has met with visiting PML-N representatives and other politicians and diplomats over the year, he has not made any comments directly.

Bilawal invites opposition leaders to Sept 20 moot

The announcement that he will attend the MPC has sparked speculation that the PML-N leader may now break his silence and play a more public political role. Some have tied his upcoming MPC participation to the possibility of his return to Pakistan. However, the Sharif family did not make a comment on these rumours.

Bilawal’s invitation

Earlier, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday invited Nawaz Sharif to attend the MPC to be held in Islamabad through video link.

The PPP chairman announced that he had made a telephone call to Nawaz Sharif, who is in London for medical treatment, to inquire about his health and invited him to the conference to be hosted by the PPP.

“Just spoke to Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. Enquired about his health. Also invited him to virtually attend opposition APC, hosted by PPP, on 20th September,” Mr Bhutto-Zardari said in his tweet.

PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz said in her tweet: “Thank You Bilawal. Warm regards and prayers.”

The opposition parties have decided to convene an MPC in Islamabad on Sunday. They want to formulate a strategy to give tough time to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government over bad governance, sugar and wheat scandals and inflation.

Meanwhile, preparations for the MPC are in full swing. The conference will be held at a local hotel. A two-point agenda of the moot has been finalised.

The PPP started the work to finalise the agenda of the MPC and contacted the PML-N and the Jamiaat Ulema-i-Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) to discuss its points.

Talking to the media, PPP secretary general Syed Nayyar Husain Bukhari said that invitations had been sent to all opposition parties by Mr Bhutto-Zardari and the opposition parties had given names of their delegation members.

He said that the PML-N delegation would comprise Shahbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Ayaz Sadiq, Ameer Maqam and Maryam Aurangzeb and the JUI-F delegation would include Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Akram Durrani and Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. Other opposition parties have also sent names of their delegates.

Mr Bukhari said that the opposition parties had the discretion to make any change in their delegations before the conference.

He said that the PPP had finalised the agenda of the MPC and two-year performance of the government and future political strategy would be on the agenda. He said that the PPP leadership had sought recommendations from other opposition parties to finalise the agenda.

Later, Mr Bukhari and PPP senior leader Sherry Rehman met Ahsan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb and other PML-N leaders in Islamabad. They held discussions on the resolution to be adopted by the MPC.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill on Saturday said the Pakistan Electronic Media Authority Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and other "legal options" would be used if Nawaz Sharif addresses the opposition-led multiparty conference (MPC) and if his speech is aired.
In a tweet, he said: "How is it possible that a fugitive carries out political activities and gives speeches? The Sharif clan can only spew lies. They are such big liars that they also lie about [their] medical conditions."

Gill's comments come a day after it was confirmed that the PML-N supremo would virtually attend and address the MPC scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday).

Meanwhile, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz responded in the affirmative to a Twitter user who suggested the party live stream Nawaz's address on social media platforms so that it can't be blocked in the country.

"We are doing that [God willing]," she wrote.

On Friday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari invited Nawaz to attend the MPC to be held in Islamabad through video link.

Bilawal said he had made a telephone call to Nawaz, who is in London for medical treatment, to inquire about his health and invited him to the conference which will be hosted by the PPP.

Arrest warrants for Nawaz
On Thursday, the Pakistan High Commission in London received arrest warrants sent by the government for Nawaz.

The high commission did not make an official comment on the development but sources confirmed that the mission had received the paperwork to serve the arrest warrants on the former prime minister.

The assistant registrar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had directed the foreign secretary to ensure production of the former prime minister before the court on September 22.

Nawaz would also have to appear on any other dates that might be fixed by the court, the letter added. A copy of the order issued earlier in the week was attached to the letter.

Earlier this week, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Nawaz while dismissing his application seeking exemption from personal appearance in the hearing of appeals against his conviction in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield properties references.

What a shameless person Bilawal is. The same Sharif humiliated his mother, distributed fake vulgar pictures of her all over Pakistan, jailed and had his father tortured. I'd spit on someone like that

[MENTION=1269]Bewal Express[/MENTION]

Your celebrations are as usual aimless.

Everyone knows that Islamabad High Court is spineless and an establishment puppet.

There has been a careful, meticulously planned witch-hunt against the credible and independent judiciary because the establishment wants to have full control over the judiciary.

Islamabad High Court have not provided any genuine rebuttal and explanation for why they have deemed these reports invalid. There is no basis for their verdict.

Notice how the PTI UK wing and in particular Zulfi are quiet on this issue. They are fully aware of the fact that if they accuse these doctors of faking reports, these doctors will take them to court in the UK and humiliate them on charges of false accusation/defamation.

This is the same reason why you made excuses and ran when I asked you to challenge these reports in court.

You would end up with the same fate because you have evidence to prove that these reports are fake, and you will up in a legal battle that you cannot win.

So PTI UK win is quiet on this issue like the cowards that they are, and they are now hiding behind the spineless IHC since their verdict cannot be challenged by the doctors based in the UK.

As a village quack you have no idea what the issues were, you saw some Geo clips and got on the band wagon of NS is dying. Then you taunted IK about his release and here you are today taking 360 uturn again and saying that the fake report is true, You have absolutely no clue do you, you have been humiliated by me, a lay person. I told you it was fake way back and i was right. You on the other hand, need to stop commenting on things you have no idea about.

Nawaz Sharif ready to comply with arrest warrants, AAG informs IHC

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Wednesday that former premier and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was ready to comply with the arrest warrants earlier issued by the court.

During today’s hearing, Additional Attorney General Tariq Khokhar informed the two-member bench hearing appeals against Nawaz’s sentence that a secretary of the PML-N leader’s son had contacted the Consulate Affairs Office of the Pakistan High Commission and conveyed that Nawaz was willing to comply with the warrants.

The secretary, Waqar Ahmed, reportedly told the diplomatic mission that they can serve the warrants to Nawaz, who earlier was also declared a proclaimed offender.

The court has decided to first secure Nawaz’s appearance as the appeals are arising out of the Avenfield judgement.

Earlier, FO sources revealed that non-bailable arrest warrants were delivered by the IHC registrar through a special messenger to the Foreign Office secretary on September 17. Later, the same was received by the Pakistan High Commission in the UK.

It is learnt that the Pakistani mission in the UK adopted three methods for the execution of non-bailable arrest warrants to Sharif.

Firstly, an individual went to the residence of Sharif in London to deliver the warrant. However, the official could not succeed as no one received it at the residence.

Secondly, the Pakistan High Commission in the UK also sent arrest warrants through Royal Mail, which were received at the residence. The Pakistan mission got a receipt to prove that the arrest warrants were received through Royal Mail by Sharif, the sources added.

It was also learnt that the Pakistani mission in the UK has also written to the UK Foreign Office to initiate the process for the service of arrest warrants to Sharif through the concerned court. The FO officials are expecting that the UK FO will initiate this process soon.

Senior lawyers believe that it is not easy for the federal government to bring back Sharif from the UK. The PTI-led government already failed to bring back former finance minister Ishaq Dar.

LONDON: Exactly a week after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif made a fiery speech criticising the military’s alleged interference in political matters, nearly two dozen young men gathered outside Avenfield House on Sunday evening and yelled slogans against him.

According to footage available with Dawn, over 20 young men in hoods and face masks gathered on Dunraven Street, across from the PML-N leader’s home, to shout “Go Nawaz Go”.

Many of them held A4 sheets with the words “We stand with Pak Army” printed on them, as well as one that read “Nawaz Sharif is a thief”.

Sharif family sources said the protesters hurled abuses and swear words in Punjabi, and that the Metropolitan Police were informed about the incident at 4pm. By the time the police vehicle arrived, the crowd had dispersed, leaving behind their posters. The sources said a complaint has been lodged with the police. In a statement to Dawn, the police said: “Police were called at 16.20hrs on 27 September to Dunraven Street to reports of a group of people protesting in the street. Officers attended and the groups were dispersed.”

Nawaz had made the speech to the multiparty conference via video link on September 20 from his son Hussain Nawaz’s office across Hyde Park. Since the speech and the MPC’s hard-hitting resolution demanding an end to alleged establishment meddling, Islamabad has seen a charged public debate about the alleged role of the armed forces in matters of civilian governance. The post-MPC period has also witnessed a flurry of disclosures and clarifications in which sources asserted the army is not involved in political matters.

The opposition party’s supreme leader, who launched his Twitter account just a day ahead of the MPC, recently posted a statement barring his party to hold individual, private or delegation-level meetings with country’s military leadership. The tweet says if necessitated by national security or constitutional requirements, such meetings in the future will be approved by the party leadership and will be made public.

The tweet came after director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar told a private channel, ARY News, that Mohammad Zubair of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had met the army and intelligence chiefs ahead of the MPC to discuss the ongoing cases against the embattled PML-N leadership. Earlier, Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed said opposition MNAs met the army and ISI chiefs to discuss the upcoming polls in Gilgit-Baltistan. These revelations created the impression that the opposition parties, including the PML-N, have been meeting the army leadership for backdoor negotiations.

In his tweet, Nawaz said: “Recent events once again prove how some meetings remain hidden behind seven veils while others are given the colour of choice through publicising them. This game should now stop.”

ARTICLE CONTINUES AFTER AD

He added that he was prohibiting his party members from meeting representatives of military or associated agencies in order to fulfill “requisites of Constitution of Pakistan and to remind the armed forces to comply with their oath”.

The deposed prime minister has been in the UK since November 2019 after getting bail from the court on medical grounds and securing permission from the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government. His doctors said he is suffering from complicated cardiac disease and an immune system disorder that resulted in a dangerously low platelet count.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) earlier this month dismissed his application seeking exemption from personal appearance in the hearing of appeals against his conviction in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield properties references and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for him.

Govt ready to exercise all legal options to bring Nawaz back, says PM

(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government would use all available legal options to bring former premier Nawaz Sharif back from London to face cases in the courts of law, media reported.

Chairing a cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, the prime minister said that those involved in corruption will not get NRO at any cost.

Imran said that the government will sought help of British government to bring Nawaz back. He said the PML-N leader fled abroad by making illness as an excuse. The PM maintained that there will be no leniency over corruption for anyone.

He said that the process of accountability will continue without discrimination and the government will not bow down to pressure tactics by the opposition.

Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected former premier and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif's petition seeking exemption to appear in the court in Al-Azizia reference case and issued non-bailable warrants against him.

The IHC bench, comprising Justice Amir Farooqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, maintained that Nawaz Sharif's bail has expired in the said case. The court ordered the authorities to arrest the PML-N leader and produce him before the court.

On September 20, Nawaz Sharif addressed the All Parties Conference and said that his fight is against "those who selected Imran Khan". Speaking via a video link from London, where the PMLN leader remains for 'health reasons' despite being sentenced to jail in Pakistan, he claimed that those who "followed the Constitution are languishing in jails and facing politically motivated cases."

Former PM Nawaz, who was convicted on corruption related charges by accountability court after a long court battle in the wake of ICIJ's Panama Papers leaks, was allowed to leave jail for London last year due to "serious issues to his health".

The PML-N leader criticized state institutions and accused the government of rigging the 2018 elections.

IHC gives earful to Nawaz Sharif for ‘defeating system’

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has lambasted three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif over his failure to appear before the court and for knowingly “defeating the system” and “laughing at it while sitting in London”.

“Accused [Sharif] knows that he went abroad after defeating the system. He must be laughing at the system while sitting abroad. It’s a shameful conduct by the accused,” the judge noted on Wednesday.

Whats the point of barking now? Why did you give this man permission to travel abroad and hold the federal govt responsible in case something happened to him? The judges who allowed him to go abroad need to be questioned

I can no longer remain quiet on dual standards of accountability in Pakistan: Nawaz Sharif

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called out the incumbent government for what he termed its "dual standards of accountability", saying that he can "no longer remain quiet" on the matter.

He was addressing a PML-N central working committee meeting via a video link from London.

"Nawaz Sharif is not made of the kind of stuff that can stand remaining quiet on dual standards of accountability," he said, adding that "no one should try to silence him"

He also spoke of what he termed the government's failures in multiple areas of governance.

"Several people have lost their employment abroad and in the country. Has someone talked to them and asked them how they are doing?" he asked.

Nawaz said although Prime Minister Imran Khan should be held directly responsible for the problems that the people are facing, the ones who are actually responsible for Pakistan's current situation are the people "who brought him into power".

"If a poor man dies of hunger and if a person is raped on the motorway, then the ones who brought him into power should answer," he said.

The PML-N supremo said that the incumbent prime minister was a "stooge" and the party that had "won the 2018 general elections lost, due to the ones who brought him into power".

London police have been asked to look into former prime minister Nawaz Sharif roaming the streets of the British capital with more than six people, allegedly in violation of the coronavirus laws imposed in the country.

On Monday, a Twitter user shared a video of Nawaz entering a park in London with an entourage that included former state minister Abid Sher Ali.

Minutes after the video was shared, Twitter user @usarxaza claimed that the former prime minister was violating UK law by roaming with an entourage of “more than six people”.

“More than 6 people are not allowed to be together in the UK at the moment. He is breaking the law there too,” tweeted usarxaza.

Seeing the tweet, another user @RadiantSez tagged London’s Metropolitan Police.

“Dear @metpoliceuk these men are breaking the 6 people rule. Please look into this. Their group leader's surname is Sharif and address is Avonfield [sic] Apartments, Park Lane. Thanks,” the Twitter use wrote.

Soon after the tweet, Met Police’s contact centre asked the user to direct message them so they can “discuss the matter further”.

A screenshot shared by the user shows that they promptly messaged the contact centre and informed them that the man, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in the video had a “big gathering outside his apartment with no social distancing or masks”.

The Met contact centre responded saying that the local police had been “made aware of the incident”, with no other details provided.

UK's coronavirus restrictions
Last month, the UK government introduced rules whereby people can socialise "in groups of up to six" inside or outside their homes.

People from a single household with more than six people "cannot meet as a group with any additional people".

"You should continue to maintain social distancing with anyone you do not live with. There is further guidance on meeting with others safely, which includes details of exemptions from this limit, including for larger households and support bubbles," says the UK government website.

There was a petition to deport the crook a few days ago. I signed it and I think at the time was 126000.

England is a weird country, deporting corrupt cricket players but adopting all the corrupts and convicts of the world of which many have caused and continue to cause great suffering to poor people.

I must read have read wrong on how many have signed it. I not sure what I saw but its around 6000 that have signed it at the time. Lets get it to 100,0000. Make the life of the duffer hell in the UK.

I can't believe how supremely talented and educated people have to jump through hoops to get a measly visitor visa for the UK but a convicted felon like Nawaz Sharif can not only enter but stay there indefinitely.

If he is on visitor visa doesn't he have to leave the country after 6 months? Are UK laws different for corrupt people of influence in third world countries who could be used as pawns?

He is on an agent visa. The man is a triator, he's been giving informaiton to MI5 in return for no extradition. Thankfully he doesnt know anything much which could jepordise Pakistani national security. I have no doubt under NS India was recieving intel which helped them kill our people.

If Bhutto can be hanged, this man should be put on crane.

Fawad hopes British authorities to deport Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Thursday said the government’s strategy to bring Nawaz Sharif back to Pakistan has entered into the next phase and hoped British authorities would deport him to serve his prison term in his country.

Talking to media after inaugurating a calligraphic exhibition at a local mall, he said, “Hopefully the British judicial system will respect Pakistan’s judicial system and deport Nawaz Sharif to serve his prison term in his country.”

Chaudhry Fawad termed the public meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement as a big failure despite Pakistan Muslim League (N) had 20 members of provincial and National Assembly from that particular division and said, “We can analyze that no one has any interest in this movement of PML-N.”

“The people who love Pakistan and want it to move forward cannot agree to the narrative of opposition,” he said while reminding the opposition to review its politics.

The federal minister also criticized the opposition for maligning the state institutions of judiciary and army and said, “If the government gets changed on someone’s will, it would set entirely a wrong precedent.”

Chaudhry Fawad warned the opposition, saying, “No one will come into their blackmailing and give relief to those facing corruption cases while rest of the matters can be sorted out through sitting together.”

He said if the opposition disagreed with the government on any other issue, both could sit together and resolve their differences, keeping aside those who were facing court cases.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has also stated in his speeches and interviews that the government was ready to sit with opposition parties to sort out all matters, setting aside the matters of those facing court cases.

IHC seeks inquiry into Nawaz’s medical reports

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday constituted a bench, on a request of inquiry by a commission, to probe convicted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah constituted the special bench to hear the petition. The bench would comprise Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.

The case will be heard on November 24.

An application seeking the constitution of a commission to identify those who were responsible for creating “fake” medical reports of former premier was filed in IHC in October.

The plea was filed by a citizen named Zaman Mughal through his counsel Rana Ahmed Raza Advocate.

It nominated Nawaz, his brother Shehbaz Sharif, interior and health secretaries, Punjab health secretary, NAB chairman, Punjab IG and Lahore CCPO as respondents.

The plea adopted the stance that instead of undergoing medical treatment in London, Sharif was maligning the state and its institutions.

It stated that the purpose of PML-N supremo’s speeches was to isolate Pakistan in the world, retain the country in the FATF grey list and divert the attention of global bodies from the human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

It deplored the use of language against senior military officials of the country by Sharif.

The petitioner stated that according to the government representatives, the PML-N chief had submitted “fake” medical reports.

He requested the court to constitute a commission to identify those who were responsible for creating fake medical reports of Sharif.

Illegal allotment case: Court declares Nawaz Sharif proclaimed offender, orders seizure of property

(Karachi) An accountability court in Lahore has declared former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender and issued non-bailable warrants against him in illegal land allotment case, media reported on Tuesday. The court also ordered the authorities to seize property of the PM L-N founder.

As per details, the verdict was issued by Accountability Court Judge Asad Ali. The court also instructed the National Accountability Bureau and revenue department to submit a report on the foreclosure of the property at the next hearing.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned till November 26.

On October 15, the accountability court gave former PM Nawaz Sharif one month to appear before it in a case on the illegal allotment of plots. The court also ordered to post advertisements for the summoning of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in the said case.

The NAB in its reference alleged that Jang group CEO Shakilur Rehman illegally obtained 54 plots, each measuring one kanal, situated in Block-H, Johar Town.

According to NAB, the land was allotted in connivance with then Punjab chief minister Nawaz Sharif against the exemption policy and the laws for monetary gains. It stated the suspects caused a loss of Rs143.53 million to the national exchequer through allotment of the land in violation of exemption policy.

PEMRA ban on Nawaz speeches: IHC declines to give relief to fugitive

Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday declined to provide relief to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who has been declared a ‘proclaimed offender’ in a number of graft cases.

Chief Justice of IHC, Justice Ather Minallah, hearing a petition filed by renowned journalists against Pemra’s ban on airing of speeches and interview of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader, stated that this court couldn’t extend relief to any fugitive from justice.

Referring to former military chief Pervez Musharraf case, he remarked: “We can’t give relief on the plea even if the Pemra’s notification [regarding the ban] was illegal.”

He said that Nawaz Sharif’s CNIC and passport had been blocked. If the plea is granted, all absconders will be entitled to such relief, he pointed out to the petitioners.

The hearing was adjourned until December 16.

UK firm claims Nawaz offered bribe to stop probe of his offshore assets

Kaveh Moussavi, chief executive officer (CEO) of asset recovery firm Broadsheet LLC has claimed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had offered his firm bribe to stop probe against the latter’s offshore assets.

In an interview to a web TV, he said the Broadsheet had flatly refused the deal offered by a person claiming himself as nephew of Sharif in 2012. Moussavi added that his firm did not negotiate with the “crooks”.

Sharif family has assets not only in the United Kingdom (UK) but across the world, he said adding that the Sharif family had a lot of explaining to do regarding their resources of amassing these assets.

Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s successors started hampering the accountability process by not giving the access to information and termination of Broadsheet’s contract, said Moussavi.

Responding to a question, he rebuffed the Nawaz’s claim that Broadsheet had given clean chit to his family in corruption cases.

“In fact Broadsheet did the complete opposite… it is a complete lie that Broadsheet exonerated Sharif family,” he added.

Broadsheet did not pursue Avenfield apartments’ case as a Pakistani accountability court had already ruled that the apartments were bought by the Sharif family from the “ill-gotten” money, said the firm’s CEO.

However, if asked by the Pakistani government he said his firm was ready to probe the sources through which Sharif family purchased the London apartments.

Nawaz Sharif was behind termination of contract with Broadsheet which was investigating how hundreds of millions of dollar had been stolen from Pakistan and stashed abroad, Moussavi said.

He said Gen Musharraf tasked Broadsheet to trace the assets of 200 people. But, after his tenure NAB started asking to remove names of certain people from the list. This was the hypocrisy of then government of Pakistan, he said.

Based in the Isle of Man, the Broadsheet LLC was hired by NAB during Musharraf’s regime to trace hidden assets of 200 Pakistanis, including former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Zardari in foreign countries. NAB terminated its agreement with Broadsheet in 2003.

Last month, a high court in the UK ordered debiting Rs4.5 billion from the accounts of the Pakistan High Commission in London over non-payment of a penalty by the NAB to the foreign asset recovery firm Broadsheet LLC.

I believed MNS was lying thus I didn't follow his illness in detail. iirc he was reported to have Thrombocytopenia which was neither ITP nor related to his Cardiac medicines. And he was regularly seen well shaved all the while with platelets as low as 5-10K/cmm. Cause was some rare autoimmune disorder for which testing fascilities were available only in UK/USA. Although I have used Eltrambopeg in patients having platelets around 5K/cmm and within a week it increases to 100k or more but we were told that because of his Cardiac illness, it's not desirable to increase his platelet count to pre-illness levels. Rubbish.

That's all I can recall about his Physical illness. Don't know about his Mental illness though if there is/are any.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Friday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was ousted through a “judicial coup” after political destabilisation was created in the country in 2017-18. The PML-N stalwart claimed that the political destabilisation was the reason of economic collapse, which forced the Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf (PTI) government to go for International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal in its first year.

He was expressing his views on the country’s economic condition with Shahbaz Rana and Kamran Yousaf, the hosts of the Express News talk show, The Review. To a question if the country was progressing so much, why the new government went to the IMF in 2018, the PML-N leader said, “This story starts from 2017 when political destabilisation was created in the country and a sitting prime minister was removed through a judicial coup.”

In 2017-18, Iqbal said, the international media started publishing news that “Pakistani establishment has decided that it would not allow the PML-N to come back to power”, saying it stopped the foreign direct investment (FDI) as the investors shied away on the grounds that they would wait for the next election results before investing in Pakistan. At that time, he said, Pakistan was becoming an investment destination because the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was expanding and every other diplomat would ask about investment opportunities generated by the multibillion-dollar project.

Due to the political destabilisation, he said, they stopped and ultimately the country had to go for the IMF programme in 2018. Countering the allegation that the PML-N massively increased the current account deficit (CAD) during its tenure, Iqbal said, the PML-N did record investment in infrastructure projects and Moody’s and Standard and Poor’s ratings agencies said at that time that it was a one-time phenomenon and CAD would be rationalised once the projects were completed in the next three to four years.

The FDI and exports can reduce CAD, he said, adding that the third factor is remittances but one can’t surely predict it. He, however, regretted that the incumbent government’s priorities were incorrect and the whole focus was on political victimisation instead of focusing on increasing the FDI and exports in the past three years. Commenting on the slow progress of CPEC and China’s commitment with Pakistan, he said, the connection wasn’t just limited to government-to-government but it was based on state-to-state and peopleto-people and there was no dearth of enthusiasm between the two countries.

On CPEC, he said, China used to call it a flagship project but the Pakistani government couldn’t maintain the momentum in the last three years on CPECrelated projects. He said that the Western route had to be completed by 2018 but it has not yet been completed; which is “disappointing”. He recalled that a Chinese investor, who was ready to purchase land for establishing a cement plant in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, suddenly changed his mind because he felt insecure seeing that if a sitting prime minister could be sent packing with one stroke of the pen then he was just another investor in the country.

District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Muhammad Iqbal Makwal has suspended two health department officials from service and sought registration of a case against them for allegedly making a fake entry of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s Covid-19 vaccination in a rural health facility.

Dr Makwal has requested the Federal Investigation Agency’s Bahawalpur officials to register a case against vaccinator Muhammad Farhan Abbas and the other official.

In addition, a three-member committee has been formed to probe the fake vaccination.

The CEO told Dawn that Farhan Abbas, a vaccinator at the basic health unit (BHU) of Basti Rana Iqbal about 45 kilometres away from the city, made a fake entry of Covid-19 first dose in the name of Nawaz Sharif in the National Immunization Management System (NIMS). He said he immediately placed Farhan Abbasi and in-charge medical officer Dr Muhammad Umar Javed under suspension and requested the FIA to register a case against the two officials.

FIA Deputy Director (Bahawalpur) Sarfraz Ali said the CEO had sent a letter for the registration of a case against two officials. He said the letter had been forwarded to the FIA’s cyber crime unit in Multan.

Meanwhile, the Khairpur Tamewali police on the complaint of Deputy District Health Officer Dr Hafiz Mahmood Ahmed registered a case 575/21 under sections 419 and 420 of PPC against the suspects.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawan (PML-N) leader Ayaz Sadiq's prediction that the country’s political arena will soon witness a “major event” has sent many in a tizzy, fuelling speculations as to what was implied in the politician’s cryptic statement.

The prediction followed right after Ayaz’s speech at an event, wherein he made the announcement that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif is returning to Pakistan.

Speaking on a private TV channel, the PML-N leader said: “I don’t know what it would be, but I assure you that something big, like a bang, is going to happen soon. It would happen all of a sudden as you won’t see it happen slowly and gradually.”

Asked whether PML-N’s recent emboldened and confident stance meant it had received any “signal” from powerful circles, Ayaz maintained the party did not require any signal from anyone as he studiously remained tight-lipped to share more details.

"I announced in my speech,” Ayaz Sadiq said in response to a question about his statement on Nawaz Sharif’s return.

In response to another question concerning the rumours that Nawaz Sharif was holding meetings with non-political groups in London, he confirmed that the meetings indeed took place. He, however, denied being cognizant of the nature of the meeting.

“Yes, they are meeting Nawaz Sharif, because they have realised that bringing the PTI into power turned out to be a failure and they are also withdrawing their support to the government and meeting Nawaz Sharif because the PML-N has its vote-bank intact,” he said.

“Strong rumours, but nothing verified yet,” a PML-N senior leader, who had served as a federal minister in the past, told The Express Tribune.

Asked if any instructions have yet been given to party leaders to gear up for PML-N supremo’s arrival, especially, after PM Imran’s expressed concerns about Sharif’s return and the tweets by PTI officials that followed, he said: “Party is incommunicado on this subject. Imran Khan’s panic is indirect evidence, but evidence nonetheless".

On Friday, PM Imran told his party leaders during a meeting in the capital that it was regrettable that the bar association of the top court was willing to help end the disqualification of the ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, deploring that the acceptability of corruption was increasing in the society.

Besides, the rumour mills were further fuelled after journalist Saleem Safi tweeted on Saturday that ex-PM Nawaz Sharif was planning to return to Pakistan in January and, as per the plan, he would go the jail; then the process of getting relief from courts would start and appeals would be filed for the annulment of previously awarded sentences.

Responding to speculations that something was going on behind the scene, a PML-N senior leader expressed that neither he personally had any information nor was interested to ask anyone about it.

“Just wait for the New Year, when things will unfold,” a PML-N senator said when approached for his thoughts over the speculations.

On the other hand, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill claimed that PML-N was making ground for the return of the former prime minister as the latter’s request for visa extension is likely to be turned down.

“Unnecessary announcement: Nawaz Sharif’s visa extension in the UK has been rejected. He is currently on appeal, but he knows his visa will be rejected, and he will be deported,” Gill tweeted.

“Expulsion of Nawaz Sharif from London is being made up as a decision from him to return to Pakistan,” he said, adding cowards could never be courageous.

Taking a jibe at the attempts to “recast Nawaz’s image”, Gill said, adding that people were being hired to "build a narrative regarding deal with establishment and culmination of the revolutionary path.”

Let's all applaud all the loving and caring people who really thought Nawaz Sharif was sick and on death bed while this government was being blackmailed to either let him go to London or his death will be a Bhutto like murder which is conspiracy.

2 years later Mian sb still hasnt had much needed emergency surgery and in fact his visa cancellation is forcing him to return and even now he is being hailed by same people as Mandela coming to save Pakistan :))

Kulsoom Nawaz had to die to prove to PTI trolls that she wasn’t faking it. Apparently PMLN members cannot have health problems.

Sums up the mentality of this pathetic cult.

Poor Mian sb is still so sick 2 years later and now returning to serve his nation in need of his quality leadership. Now we all know who is cult and who was a liar back then?

Please keep supporting the frauds looters and now dont blame others for questioning whether these frauds fake their health problems? Kulssom Nawaz's sickness was also exploited politically and so was Sharif's ..... You lot believe everything they say and look how embarrassing it gets.

Sharif mafia also tried twice in last 2 months to prove their cases were conspiracy and both attempts (fake Saqib Nisar audio and Judge Shamim statement) turned out to be FRAUD. Shame on anyone who supports such pathetic crooks.

Did not expect such a panic from PTI and their supporters over the return of Nawaz.

Did not expect such a panic from PTI and their supporters over the return of Nawaz.

Lol so it's PTI supporters in panic when Sharif is being kicked out from England and all of a sudden he is spreading narrative that Mandela is coming back for another Inqilaab.
Didnt you guys also say that PTI is trying to kill poor Nawaz Sharif and he was poisoned? Then he ran away and no threat to his life for couple of years till England refused his visa application.
Why do you guys always fall for this family's lies and not use common sense?
