MVP has been a Top 3 seed for past 25 years or so (only Westbrook).

LeBron and Giannis don't have good enough teams. Durant and Harden are on stacked teams now and will have lower usage with Cousins and Melo.

Leonard is on the best team in the East and is only behind LeBron and Durant as a player. Also for MVP it's usually who has a good storyline that season. Leonard has been healthy for a year now he just didn't play for Spurs because of their issues. I heard he looked good in preseason.
 
Not sure if anyone has caught any basketball yet. I caught both of the Raptors game. They beat Celtics, who are the other favorites in the conference.

They seem to have improved considerably since last season. Lowry looks like their most influential player. Leonard has played in second gear but stepped up big time in the second half of the game last night.

Ibaka looked motivated and had a great game after a long time. Siakam looks like the most improved player on their roster so far with his ball-handling and confidence. Green compliments the starters perfectly as well and is good at pull up threes which was something that was severely lacking last season. Also is a beast defensively. Raptors are much much much more improved defensively just by the virtue of not having Derozan on their team anymore.

We're definitely challenging for 1st seed which I am certain we will get. Might even out-do our regular season record from last year. In the playoffs, making the conference final is bare minimum. Making the NBA finals is a realistic desire for once.

More than making the NBA finals, we need Leonard to commit. That single-handedly could determine the future of this franchise.

I didn't watch but heard he played well and numbers seem to reflect that. 26 points, 12 rebounds.

Lakers lost however. They don't have great 3-point shooters. They also don't know what their best starting line up is.

3 of their starters are on the wrong side of 30. While Ingram and Ball are still very inexperienced. The team doesn't look very promising but neither did the Cavs team last season so lets see.
 
Man Rondo is freaking annoying. Who the hell spits in a player's face. That's weak.
 
I am not the the biggest basketball fan tend to watch it more during playoffs , will hope my Portland trailblazers make the playoffs this year too but I don't think they will this time around
 
Raptors are looking really good with Kawhi atm. They are the front-runners for the East imo. Philly also looking good after getting Jimmy. The West is an absolute mess right now. Every team is good. Also great to see Kemba and Giannis going off this year.

Raptors and bucks look real good in the east. The western conference is a gongshow but I still think warriors will get it togather.
 
Interesting GSW aren't as dominant so far.

Could this year be more open and will we have a new winner?

Unlikely.

3 of their stars have been out.

Curry and Green come back next week. Cousins should be activated by Jan/Feb. By that point, they'll have five stars (including two superstars) playing together.
 
really good season so far, I'm rooting for D-rose and wolves. I just hope he doesn't get injured and has a great season.

Things are looking very interesting between the two conferences right now compared to previous years. Eastern conference has 2-3 tier 1 teams, but not as many tier 2 teams as the west. The west seems to have one tier 1 team (Warriors) but a ton of tier 2 teams. Basically everyone worse than warriors but better than the Suns is a tier 2 team. The standings make for a very interesting reading right now. It will be interesting to see how things stand in April.

Yup, they have been without 3 good players (2, if you count the fact that Boogie has never actually played as a warrior yet) so I don't expect this to last forever. With that being said, there were periods last year where Curry was injured and warriors were still a really good team. Not sure not having Draymond makes them that much worse, but maybe it does.

I think Raptors and Celtics can give them a run for their money. I'd put warriors as the clear favourites still, but I wouldn't be surprised if Raptors or Celtics won.
 
Rockets, Thunder and Spurs have picked it up.

Doncic is way too overhyped.

Kawhi as always is being overlooked. He is the clear MVP imo.
 
Raptors have to become good in closing out the games. Game against Wizards was embarrassing allowing Wizards to come back from 23 points deficit to tie the game :facepalm:
 
Very interesting season.

James Harden is on fire. Rockets were behind in the 4th with a couple of mins left. Harden hits 3 X 3's and changes the games.

Le Bron and Lakers look poor. He should have stayed with the Cavs.
 
I think it's safe to assume James Harden is gonna be MVP again this year. Offensively he has been on a absolute tear. Giannis Antentokumpo had a very good year but harden has been balling out.
 
Thompson returns in game 4 today, if Raptors win this, game they will be champions and Drake can **** talk even more, inspite of that hoping Raptors win!
Cant believe leafs and Raptors are managed by the same board.
 
Raptors in 5..... Toronto is going to be locked down on Monday.

Part of me wants raptors to lose because if Pakistan gets knocked out of the World Cup then I don’t want my friends to be happy either

Thats good, even with that raptors are still pretty close, law of averages will eventually catch up. Kawhi goes beast mode in the second half like he did in the last game.

Dude warriors win every year. Screw them.

They only win cuz of their all stars otherwise they are trash and terrible fanbase/organization too.

Raptors cant go into the 4th with a 9 pt defecit. GS got this if they keep lead of 7+ pts entering 4th. Cmon stop settling for 3s and play in the paint thats what hurts the warriors.
 
Raptors choked, had a feeling it would happen. The only cold blooded killer on their team is Ibaka and he was not playing the final minutes.

Kawhi literally was on fire when he gave them the lead at the end, Nurse called a timeout at the wrong time break their momentum.
 
Nurse with a brain dead call on that timeout.

Completely misread it and killed his team's momentum.
 
Toronto fans were classless for jeering at KD when he got injured, some middle aged sardar jee was waving bye to him as if he was in his pind. Really disrespectful, they've ruined the image of Torontonians on NBA twitter.

Mountain out of a molehill. Yes there were some a**holes but most people were cheering because of the fast break on the other end.

Personally, my reaction wasn't a cheer nor any sympathy. In the moment I was just thinking that it was good for my team. In hindsight though, I do feel bad for KD.

I'm just sayin the optics weren't good from an outside perspective. Raptor fans are being criticized on social media and by NBA stars.
 
Before the series started, I predicted Raptors in 5.

Was pretty disappointed that they could not win it at home and lost by one point.

Killing the GSW Dynasty at home will be even sweeter.

As Shannon Sharpe said, "Kwahi has ended three dynasties; not even Genghis Khan destroyed that many".

Everybody likes hating on the Raptors, and GS fans have a habit of complaining over everything.
 
I'm hoping the Raptors end this dynasty and Durant leaves for the Nets, Knicks or Clippers. It would make the league a lot more interesting. I'd be very surprised if Kawhi doesn't stay if he wins the championship.
