New day, same old story - The Pakistan batting collapse

This is never going to stop if we don't change mindset of our batsmen, our batting strategy and the approach while chasing totals...everything will be fine thn otherwise even upcoming batsmen will be affected by this virus within a couple of matches and we will be back to the point from where we started asking about some other new players to be included and some to be dropped...

You know Pakistan lose 2 wickets together most of times it means a collapse on it's way but at the moment it seems stopped...
 
Today there were not that big collapses but one thing is confirmed even with all the wickets in hand our team still struggle to post a good total on the board...On this flat pitch the total should have been 250+...Remember it's the same ground where we posted a total of 303/6 in 2005...
 
So how it feels this time a failure of batting against Zimbabwe :13:
 
We are never going to learn anything at least in ODIs
 
WebGuru can you look up the number of times teams have scored 300+ in the last 2 years? and how many teams have chased 260+ down?

I don't think so because the way our openers started it was clear that they were struggling just like they did against West Indies...

But accepting this would mean accepting that Pakistani bowling isn't that great as it is made out to be.. no way it will be accepted.

Where is that guy who said in CT Pakistan scored 170 else 200 was good enough to defend against any batting line up ..?

our batting has serious issues and thinks that a 220 to 230 score is a great total that our bowling should defend 10/10. this is wrong... in todays time a 250 target is barely on par. our bowling cannot defend low totals every time. this score by every other teams standard is below par but by our standards its humongous. Today our bowling was crap i will say this but our batting was equally bad if not worse.

Why on earth would we not hire one coach we have deperately needed for the last 10 years? A batting coach. Why???? How dysfunctional. And how much time does DW need at the helm to show that we have mentally improved when it comes to batting?
 
Pakistan will win this match easily and all will be forgotten

Ever since the late 90s pakistans top 3 has been shambolic and pretty much its always been a case of our middle order batsmen trying to bail us out and make us competative in matches!

There simply is not enough batting talent except for hyped up youngsters. That's the reality.

another collapse but I don't count it as they played differently to as they normally would because the win was so close

Great the new story was looking good but the story changed direction after the first page... Hopefully it will revert back.
 
Most of the guys lack cricketing nous with the bat. There's no semblance of technique or plan at most times. Ruthlessly exposed.

The batting order is too thin.

LOL! What happened there? When I checked the score it was 160/4 with 20 left to get in 53 balls. Even we would find it hard to choke from that position :))

Always felt like 180+ was enough on this pitch,Pak shouldn't have allowed someone like Parnell to score so much

Bowling is far from threatening but every one is finding his own way of getting out because they can't rotate strike :facepalm:

Are we ever going to see a batting consultant, idiotic stuff this from the PCB - I don't care from which part of the world he comes, he only needs to be experienced and qualified - get a consultant sooooooon
 
Ones and twos are a real problem. It literally is boundary or out. Learn how to tap it around.

Hafeez as never been an international class batsman. The younger guys don't have a clue because they have only one role model who himself has thrown away games in ODIs based on tuk tuk.

The pressure builds as they can't rotate the strike then they have no power game either.

The batting in ODIs needs to be seriously re-jigged otherwise there is a serious chance of a first round exit in the next World Cup at the hands of Zimbabwe or Ireland.

I can safely say right now (as much as it hurts me) that we will NOT beat India or SA in the World Cup (who we have never beaten in World Cups) and it is going to be down to matches v WI, Zimbabwe and Ireland.

Shameful, shocking and embarassing.

Pakistan are a laughing stock in ODI cricket and have no clue.

The coach is doing zilch, the same nonsense is happening repeatedly.

They have all the ability in the world but don't know what to do when. No intelligence of game situations and understanding the game of cricket.

I really believe that the Pakistani batting team especially (except Misbah) have no understanding of the subtleties or intelligence regarding the game of cricket: e.g. when to tap it around, when to hit out, when to play a certain shot, which bowler to target etc and what rate to go.

The PCB should be taken over by Pakpassion (especially moderators) and some intelligent fans to sort out this mess.

It's a joke and I for one am sick of this pathetic inept stuff. They get paid enough and I would do it for free.

Coach- OUT, most batsmen- OUT, PCB- OUT.

Very well said and that's exactly the reason y I have been SHOUTING LOUD for a professional and qualified batting consultant for this pedestrian batting team called Pakistan
 
Pak is playing extra bowlers,so better effort was expected after Amla,Ab failed and Smith didn't play,260 is too much with this long a tail

It's the truth dude, learn to accept it and find a way out, we lost 0-8 very badly and had 2 accept and move on,crying and whining never helps at professional level
