New Zealand [219/6] defeat India [139] by 80 runs in first T20I to take 1-0 series lead

Pant looking like a #11 :)))

Needs to perform in the rest of the series to have any chance for the WC.

What? Pant was looking for singles the same way Shankar was.

He's gone now so Shankar has already done better than him.

No wonder Dhoni is still ruling the roost. With substitute like Pant, it is not difficult to understand why grandpa is still in the mix.
 
Grandpa made Pant to live like Grandpa by asking him to specialize in Test Matches!

He was looking to hit most of the balls just looked out of touch, and great gods they have sent the professional match loser to the pitch, he now teach Shankar how it's done.

Vijay shankar doesn't belong to T20 . we know that. Pant has sometime to get back his rythm. Looks like he was sleep walking there. He will come back strong. Karthik cost atleast 30 rusn with his two dropped catches

Keep giving players stop start chances and no one's gonna look good, how's pant done in tests. They need to give a player 4-5 games in a row without threat of being dropped for failure.

Lol he only tried to hit one ball in the innings. The rest were either quietly played along the ground or failed reverse sweeps.
 
Not trying to start anything, but having played Pakistan recently, they were a much better T20 team.

They dominated us home and away.

This is one format they're definitely not the best.

He looked zoned out. I think he is still settling in. Probably they should try opening him.

Good we saw that in SA just now against a junior team they are 0-2 down where as India beat them 2-1. Do you see Bumrah, Kuldeep, Kohli playing? seriously? you are happily gloating.
 
This is a 180 pitch. They let a hack get away like they do sometimes. Dropped catches didn't help.

There was a thread saying India were the best across all formats. I said Pakistan were better in T20s, this is only validating my opinion.

Ms dhoni stabilising the innings again.Whatta playa!
He will stabilise it until 16 th over then he will smoke a few sixes to cover up his str rate and then the whistle podu gang will come up.

That is because India almost always plays a completely whacky different combo in T20. Ther eis a thread for also about how India was unbeaten for 10 series they don't care about it.

Nothing that I can recall recently, I think Bangladesh were rolled for 50-60 in a ODI/T20 and McCullum chased it in 6-7 overs.
 
Understandable that India is not able to score against Lockie and the like but Santner? This is comedy :)))

I am on topic, if the team that just won 4-1 in Odi's is being asked to compete better I am just wondering what the standards are for a team about to be whitewashed in 2 formats on their current tour.

There is a reason why you are never going to win a world cup. You embrace mediocre players. We look at over all big picture. That is why we frequently get to final or semi final and win sometimes and you don't.
 
Not a single shot out of the middle of the bat.. the spectators must be refunded for this farcical game!
 
It's good to see NZ finally getting on top of India, even though NZ is facing an Indian C side. So far has been a very one sided boring series..
