Cant blame the pitch , on the same wicket azhar was scoring at 50 plus SR.

Who heard Ramiz Raja’s Kit Kat joke?
Just switched on and wow..
360 odd just after tea on day one is a fantastic score!!!
It's day 2 we have been bored to death
One of the most boring innings in the history of Test cricket by Harris sohail. This guy was supposed to be our free flowing player!
Sarfraz needs to try something else rather than sweeping.
Against spinners in UAE you can only play sweep, reverse sweep or cut if given the length. Coming down the wicket like Asad did or playing cover drives against a spinning ball is risky.
Eid coming for Hasan123
450 should be good by end of day
Not asking for him to come down the wicket. But he can look to play down the ground from the crease. You can't sweep everything. NZ are prepared for that.
What are they trying to achieve now?
Waqar wants Sarfraz to bat at 5 in Tests ?
We have to see NZ bat here to judge his innings.

Not declaring at 400-410 & losing a chance to bowl 16-18 overs to tired Kiwi's would be very poor strategy .
Even if pak plays by lunch time 3rd day, they would still have around 240 overs to get NZ out twice. However if NZ scores big in first innings i.e no follow on Pak might have to bat againt and then last day will be race against time.
Just saying.
Safety . Being 0-1 , they cannot afford to lose this![]()
you are kidding ..... right ?
Batting first, batting too slow doesn't provide safety. I give a hypothetical scenario - PAK bats for 190 overs to score 450, then Kiwis all-out for 353 after Tea on Day 4...... there can be only one possible winners left in the game - Kiwis. PAK can collapse 2nd time trying to bat for time pass, while Kiwis can always go for a crazy chase, later can settle for draw if it doesn't happen. So far, PAK has lost 2 Tests with this approach of snail paced 1st innings on a slow surface (Karachi 2000 & WI couple of years back) & saved by bad light once (ENG).

There is absolutely no merit in declaring in 1st innings - this wicket isn't going to be better for batting. PAK should go after the bowling and get as many as possible in many be 190 overs. Even getting all-out in that effort is better.
Didn't see him trying anything outside of the box when he was coach.
Seems like a great coach from the commentary box.
Nobody declares at 410. They will have to score 500 at least to feel comfortable. Not declaring at 400-410 & losing a chance to bowl 16-18 overs to tired Kiwi's would be very poor strategy .
i was being sarcastic .

You expect pakistan to bowl twice and 200+ overs in possible back to back bowling stints?
Sarcastic?
