What's new

New Zealand [659/6 dec] beat Pakistan [297 & 186] by an innings & 176 runs to win series [2-0]

We ain't touring these countries again in next year or 2.. so I wd persist with him since he has only 3-4 years of cricket left in him anyway.

Hmm I guess if there are no other openers. But surely better bringing in a younger option to ease in home conditions and then he has the chance to bring that experience to SENA & see if he can score.

The cupboard is bare !

Apart from Junaids, you put any one as CS - at least 15-16 of the 20 will be common name. Rest 4-5 will also be marginal calls.

So you think he will stick with experience for the most part?

Atleast Babar is not picking up 2 losses as a captain so theres that

Has not really come forward to Rizwan (at least in front of cameras) to offer advice animatedly as he was doing to the group before and during the T20Is. Can be an ominous sign.

Anything more than 30 runs here by Haris will likely bite PAK in the posterior over the next few years. The deficit is simply too wide for a 50 to be of any consequence whatsoever.

His technical deficiencies and lack of prowess will get completely overlooked and he will become a part of the squad for the SAF series.

Did the match start 10 mins early today to compensate for some time lost yesterday?

Mohd Wasim has a big job to do here. Pakistan must find good 15 player Squad by the end of the year to be competitive again in Test Cricket.

What Mitchell did to Azhar in that over with that line/length and field can be referred to with that mystery phrase: "bowling plan".

And this did not look like one of those plans that coaches, analysts and teams arrive at after going through mounds of videos and research. This simply seemed like a case of something clicking when Mitchell/Williamson saw Azhar awkwardly play the "short ball" (120kph rip snorter).

Requires a base line level of intelligence and some cricketing acumen. Which automatically means it is beyond our cognitive threshold.

Azhar Ali is still our best batsmen in overseas conditions, which shows what a sad state we are in for our cricket, we don’t have anyone apart from Babar azam to brag about.

NZL used to be our bunnies, its just that we have forgotten how we used to play. Other’s have learned from our past cricket and we have gone down hill.

Is there any rain forecast for today? A thunderstorm will do.

what's the point of getting saved with rain? I'd rather the team lose and find out where to improve as opposed to getting saved by the weather just so the inevitable gets delayed for a bit.

Am I right to say that Harris Sohail is a good ODI player than a Test Batsmen, I watched his inning against SA in WC 19 and it was fantastic to watch.

Hes a decent ODI player but in test cricket his technique is not good I notice he plays away from his body alot, never gets behind the ball so that's why his shots end up being aerial. I used to think the guy was supremely talented because of all the posters hyping him up but hes been exposed in test matches.

We already know where to improve.

A study needs to be done on how NZ Cricket has managed to improve so drastically in the last 7-8 years. I remember NZ Cricket was at a very low eb under Ross Taylor and Mccullam took over in very controversial circumstances but NZ Cricket has not looked back since then.

Ramiz Raja attributes the success of NZ Cricket to the use of drop in pitches and strongly advocates that the PCB moves in this direction as well

Kane Williamson

Aik Kane Williamson hi kaafi hai

Azhar Ali is the most underrated batsman in the world....he plays so well on SENA pitches, Indian batsmen should learn from him.

Should be the end of his career. Welcome to the side Saud Shakeel/Usman Salahuddin/Kamran Ghulam

RIP Haris test career.

There was a time where he was the most hyped and his debut was the most anticipated.

Injuries, less than average fitness... and then just fades into the background. Had the stats with 54+ average in FC cricket too.

Sad

This inning reminds me of when we gave anil kumble 10 wkts. We have given more wkts to this jamie trundler.

Yeah great analysis by :bm rn on how Jamieson has troubled Haris and how Harry needs to improve overseas.

He should have made his debut in 2013 and received proper treatment from the PCB.

His failures can be attributed to his laziness but that’s only a part of the whole.

You just summed up his career. JUST another what could have been career.

Would be interesting to see this Jamieson bloke on the asian wickets. He has been real good with that indipper + bounce but without those two weapons, how would he fare.

Did anyone saw Misbah talking to Fleming, he thinks this is a learning curve, and we were in isolation bla bla. His excuses is bigger than Younis khan diary.

Yeh sab ghar ke sher hain trust me, in India or srl they will be dispatched.

So bored of hearing this is a young team, boys are learning.

Been hearing that for the last 10 years

Has he brought out the isolation card? He promised not to use that when we fail

I know, I cant see southee doing much .. plus wagner would be useless as he is a one trick pony. On the other hand apart from Kane, noone in their line up plays spin particularly well.
