Love these games between two equally matched opponents

So we have Nurul Hassan WK

What you make out of these players - Subhashish Roy , fast bowler ? I think he is a line and length outside off corridor bowler.

Good to see Guptill out early. No interest in seeing a hack top-edge and mishit balls for boundaries in these small NZ grounds time and again.

Nurul Hasan and no Liton Das, this is conspiracy. Nurul isn't goo enough to play for Bangladesh A, hack with the bat, good keeper though.

Tanveer Hyder - he needs to lose at least 60 pounds, should have picked Miraz.

Roy - We should have picked Rubel. Roy isn't international standard.

Mash is going so say we were saving Miraz for the test to surprise Kiwis in seamer friendly conditions.

What is the par score in this pitch? Does not looks like 300 runs pitch at all

I was looking forward to watching a bit of Mustafizur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan, but I see neither has made it into the final 11.

1) Guptill is one of the best strikers in world cricket. The man scored a fantastic 100 at the SCG a week ago
2) This isn't a multipurpose sports ground, the boundaries here are decent sized.

mustafiz rested for recovery of injury and miraz saved for Test only.

I love how ignorant some people are on NZ grounds, they truly like to believe that every ground in NZ is the same size as Eden Park.

Mushfiqur is a big loss. He is Bangladesh's best batsman and was just regaining his form. Nurul is a good keeper but not sure how much he offers with the bat.

Soumya dropped and rightly so. He needs to seriously reassess where he stands.

Surprised Taskin has kept his place after the phainty he received in the last match and with Rubel on the bench who has been bowling well.

Who the hell is Tanvir Haider and what is he doing in the squad let alone the playing XI?

Bangladesh need Mahmudullah and Shabbir to turn up today to make up for Mushfiq's absence.

:))

It's true and AUS gets the reverse where every ground is supposedly massive.

And he's out.

Captain useless.

Garbage captain and overrated bat.

Taskin is bowling much better today. He has cut out the rubbish short deliveries.

Subashish seems decent. Medium-pace but good accuracy. A useful bowler to have in these conditions.

Taskin strikes. Williamson gone.

We're minnows in all formats.

Guptill has to carry these spuds :(

Talk about unnecessary defensiveness. Compare the grounds to international standards.

When the ICC announced guidelines for ground dimensions in 2007, cricket boards had to apply for the grounds they wanted exempted. New Zealand had applied for by far the most exemptions.

Who says its just Auckland ? Queenstown, Hamilton and Napier are other examples.

Its not an attack on New Zealand or its cricket. The grounds themselves are beautifully picturesque, but the dimensions of many venues (bar Wellington and maybe a few others) are too small by international standards. When you combine that with big bats, fielding restrictions, boundaries being pulled in so far, two new balls and dead pitches - it leads to artificially inflated ODI scores. Of course NZ is not alone in that trend nor is it solely responsible - but it is a problem.

As for Guptill - shall we ignore the 4 out of 5 failures in India then. I never denied he's been a good LOI opener, but a little bit of swing or spin and he struggles. In Tests he's been exposed completely.

Less than 60m boundary shown on tv and Aman claiming it one of the biggest ground...hahaha

Think those are behind square, there are plenty of ground who have boundaries which are 50-60m in that region.

This Tanvir Hayder guy looks so unfit. Really does not look like a professional sportsman.

It isn't just Auckland, a lot of the multipurpose grounds are really small with short boundaries throughout.

I am tired of people banging on about how small our multipurpose grounds. I know it is difficult for SC fans to understand, but cricket is not that popular in NZ, it is a minority sport and isn't considered popular enough to warrant significant government spending for big stadiums.

Despite this, we have had a few decent sized grounds in NZ which are acceptable (Hagley Oval and Bay Oval) and allow for fans to sit on the banks to watch the cricket.

There's no doubt Guptill is horrible against the moving ball, but it is silly to question his striking ability, he doesn't need small grounds to clear the fence and rarely do you see Guptill top edging or mistiming sixes..

Oh my how did we leave out Mehedi Hasan Miraz the man of the series in world U-19 and series against England for this tanvir hayder

Umpire misses a clear edge but Bangladesh have no reviews left.

Mashrafe bowls Munro.

I think 240 would be a good score, looks like there's a bit in this wicket.

Probably a good thing, that would have been wasted too.

Coming back to the caught behind appeal, snicko says there was no deflection whatsoever
