Its not only ability that makes someone a good batsman but also how he knows his limitations, his strenghts and how he manages himself at the crease.

Clearly Fakhar knows what he can do and manages himself pretty well.
 
Fakhar is doing much better than what Sharjeel's performance was when he made his debut. So we can only hope the Fakhar improves on his game because no doubt Sharjeel worked on his game and came back stronger.

This is a quality pace attack and quite clearly, Fakhar has shown great ability. I would take someone who gets things done instead if just looking good for a bit and then getting out. Sharjeel doesn't have the temprament to play big innings, otherwise he would've by now.

And mind you, every quality pace attack has a back up spinner too, NZ have Santner, Aussies have Lyon, SA have Tahir and India have Ashwin. And Sharjeel was a sitting duck against those spinners most of the time. You have to weigh all factors.

This game has been over for a while and these are nothing but soft runs with no pressure of a live game.

It does show Pakistan can compete, just that they'll need to drop the dead weight next game.

Yeah, this obsession with Pandya is really embarrassing. Fahim is potentially a very good allrounder. Why not leave it at that?

This should be the lineup for the next game. Sarfaraz should let the real batters do the business.
 
Any chance of play or is it a certain washout? The forecast dosent't look all that bad on google.
 
Though azhar should be removed but his replacement imam doesn't give any confidence whatsoever. He plays at the same str rate as azhar and won't be useful in big chases. Pak should promote a hard hitter like sahibzada farhan etc and hope for a miracle.

I think Sahibzada Farhan could have been great in these conditions.

That kid should be tried out and given guidance by proper coaching professionals and not be sent to domestic where he would end up regressing.

Chill it is just fun banter from my end atleast...I have been on this forum for some time...how many times have you seen me post consistently :) and it is not like this is the first time Pakistan team was having a bad day at the office since I have been here...just one of those days you have a lot of time to kill :))

The difference between WI and Pakistan is that WI cannot play spin or pace. Pakistan are quite at home against spin. Therefore, NZ do not get it all their own way.

Hafeez will be dropped next game for sure. Don't know about Azhar. Maybe Mickey is going to wait another game. He seems to really rate him for some reason.

No Hafeez will not be dropped. He will play another 2 games atleast.

For Micky its just a first game beside a warm up duck so I will not be surprise if he gets 3 games if not 5 if he manage to score 25+ in a game
 
10 runs an over required. Not as many runs. Rested Fakhar and Faheem, Hasan to come, we can do this.
 
Everybody here crying about place of Azhar, Hafeez and Malik, don’t have same opinion about Sarfraz, they all made from same linen. They are all terrible player of decent pace...Sarfraz even miss critical catches, if Captain is zero on skills, how he can question others??

All these seniors are the reason we never made progress in LOIs for last 10 years, how long we can have such a pedistrain batting lineup? - They don’t have technique nor reflexes to play pace, we all know that for years, there is nothing new :facepalm:
