New Zealand tour of India, 1st Test: India v New Zealand at Hyderabad

We are talking about BCCI here,, logic and BCCI don't go in the same line! This series win, and everything is OK once and for all!

I don't think so. With so many criticizing ppl on charge (Ganguli) this time I see serious improvement in Ranji pitches.

We are the laughing stock of international cricket at the moment. Crumbling and losing five quick wickets to basic spin....jeez. It just shows how weak the spinners are on the domestic circuit. Trouble is, I just can't seem to point out anything that they can do to make it better.

so do u want some magic spin??

Ashwin is as good as anyone in the world,he got the variations of a world class spinner

Name me one modern day spinner who has done well in Australia, besides Warne.

From Modern era, Kumble hasn't done bad, though his average is not good, he has 4 Five for and one ten fer.

I saw him throughout the tour of Australia - he was very average with the ball, but did well with the bat.

Aussie tour is a disaster for the whole team, they seriously underperformed!

But why do u wanna bring that now, didnt you watched today's match??

Chill mate! :)

Ashwin has had a merry time in India. So has Ojha. They will have to prove themselves outside the country.

If not everywhere, atleast in some unfamiliar locations.

Btw. anyone appreciated MSD's captaincy by being attacking with spinners? I guess not, since there was MSD bashing week few weeks ago. I call this attacking captaincy.

Saqlain Mushtaq has relatively good figures there.

Saqlain averages 34 (Which is pretty good for touring spinners in Australia)

Anil Kumble 37.7, Swann - 39.80 and Murali 75.41

So Saqlain probably has the best average among the modern spinners in Australia.

If I be really picky. Saqlain has played only 4 tests there and if you check Kumble's SR and number of wickets I will say he has done better.

And actually Mushtaq Ahemed has done better than Saqlain.

Yup Mushy has done better with an average of 33.59 and a good strike rate of 60. So he has probably been the best. Anil had a SR of 65 and Saqlain had a SR of 75.

Yep, Franks has improved a touch. Still not a fan of his feeble dibbly-dobblys though!

NZ need to score 239 to avoid the follow-on. I get the feeling Dhoni will bat again if NZ fold up soon enough.

Not yet. If NZ put really good score following on even 100 runs lead can be challenging for India. Very tough but that's the plan they should look for.

Hahaha no chance. We don't have the spinners to trouble them on this crumbling pitch. Unless Kane has the day of his life and grabs an eight-fer.

NZ will fold for 150 in second essay also. They do not have the batsman to score other than 20s and 30 s

I think Indian Plan would be to bat whole remaining third day and at least till tea on 4th day , and have 4 sessions to bowl out NZ on a crumbling pitch. India will be already having a good lead well over 250 ....and by tea on 4th day it would be around 500.

It's past the scheduled lunch break and they're still playing!
The biryani is not ready yet.

Also bad light is what that can save NZ. Anything that delays the game would be welcomed by NZ.
