I don't thin Anwar is swing, he is seaming the ball well... I think one factor is his pace, at 125k seam is griping the surface... At 140 it is skidding... If Amir was bowling at 130 he might have gone seam as well..

I bet Boult would be bowling at less than 130... I remember NZ medium pacers Mills and co using to seam a lot at 125k clicks in such conditions....

Anwar Ali is so slow.... The wind is moving the ball away from lefties

He is bowling well as long as he keeps it fuller...shorter balls are like gift wrapped pies.

After a long, long, long ................ long years later, PAK is playing with 4 pacers & the result isn't that bad. Home isolation didn't cost PAK that much as the UAE wicket. I am sure, if they play more matches anywhere but those UAE wickets, batsmen will improve on back foot game, horizontal bat shots & hit on the rise. It's a must that PAK should stop playing games in UAE - SRL, BD, NZ, ENG, IND, SAF where ever possible, but not in UAE. May be few Test matches, but UAE wickets are worst for LO.

What we need is to start playing in PAK again.

I admire NZ's positive approach whilst losing wickets, they've not gone into a shell

All six balls were short. Why is he worried to bowl full which earned him rewards?

Good decision by Azhar. Keep coming hard at them, don't let up.

If I were Azhar, I would have brought back Aamir & Irfan for 2 overs each & get Anderson out. PAK is best when they play attacking game, as they are not good in cat & mouse. If Anderson is knocked off now, NZ 'll struggle to finish 50 overs & he is struggling.

As I was writing, comes back Aamir. But, probably Irfan is more appropriate as he struggles in his 3rd spell.

Azhar isnt as bad a captain as people make him out to be. Playing 4 pacers does help the captain though

The bouncer was right approach - Anderson is swinging blind, but not the execution; it must be fuller bouncer. The match is at Basin & it's not a Rugby ground; miscued top edges won't fetch cheap 6 runs.

I'm not sure Irfan has the stamina right now to bowl at death - just use his overs now and go for the kill!

Anwar should go around the wicket and pitch it at a good length on the off stump channel. Might get another one that way.

Andersons gone into a shell. Have a feeling catch is coming soon. Haha Ramiz just called Anwar, Irfan Ali

Anwar ali is bowling into the breeze. This allows lateral movement and a natural in swing into the right hander.

This shows he has some of that 2006 natural in swing.

But that swing is weather and pitch dependent.

Seriosuly? Bouncers at 123ks? Not in today's cricket dude

Anderson smashes Anwar for four.

OK enough ..time to sleep..good night .. Except Anu all Pakistanis have bowled too short including amir

Amir should have bowled couple of full length deliveries... Attack more, try to take wickets... Short or full both are att king lengths here, good is defensive

It's no swing mate, it's seam movement.

He has improved his Seam position as it was too scrambled before.

He just needs to keep bowling that driving length to be effective. Banging the ball in pointless.

Correct. Anwar is seaming and the pitch is gripping the slower ones.

Boult relies on swing, which isn't on offer. Might swing in the first over or two only, like in Amir's case today.

Come on Amir wicket needed here.

There must be intense pressure on Azhar today but so far I can appreciate the decision making.

Lucky anderson he hacked this one poorly.

Anderson doesn't look like the sort of chap who is going to hang around.

What Anderson is trying is to release some pressure - the best way to counter this is to keep attacking & the Aussies were best in that. However, the telling difference is that the Aussies knew how to catch - Sanath, Sehwag, Gilly, Symonds, Kluesner, Gayle kept bullying PAK for 2 decades for the pathetic catching in similar situations.

Out!! MMHS ;) Sarfraz almost dropped it. Great move by Azhar to bring Amir
