Raval sort of reminds me of Sangakarra, and I remember Wahab has taken Sanga's wicket a few times due to the extra bounce he generates... he hasn't been tested at all with short pitched stuff, he looks terrific with the swinging ball.. but short pitch bowling will be another matter altogether

Bowling was a bit flat after first few overs and then we went full Mohammad Sami when Taylor came to bat, gifting him short and wide balls to put away. And now rain.

I think last Test Match everyone was after Rahat Ali, because Ross Taylor was similarly taking him apart, subsequently when Rahat got Ross Taylor, Rahat was labelled as 'lucky to get that wicket' since he bowled poorly.. his other 3 wickets were labelled as something similar too

Azhar said Yasir isn't playing because of the conditions etc., that's pretty much it.

I just hope this doesn't backfire come day 4/5, a pretty bold call given how he's essentially been the torch bearer in every single win Pakistan has achieved over the past 2 years...

I wouldn't have taken such a chance in a must win game that literally has our undefeated record in the last 2 years at stake !!

Nevertheless what's done is done and I'd hope that the current decision helps us pull off a victory at the end.....

i do question the strategic bandwidth of this current set up

who is the bowling coach of this team? i think azhar mahmood

did he, mickey and skipper staregize how to bowl in case we win the toss and then discuss it with fast bowlers?

i dont think so because pakistani fast bowlers, instead of bowling full on 3rd and 4th stump, bowled 65% of their balls on shorter length denying themselves an inherent advantage of seaming conditions on a grassy pitch under damp conditions. they were smacked for over 10 boundaries but they did not adjust their length and kept on delivering wide short deliveries.

so i do question the validity of strategic think tank as well.
