Look at the pitch now, no fielders around it. They are taking singles easily.

If they go down without a fight then it would be a serious dent on Arthur's legacy.
Singles will not hurt them.
At the end of the day the team management will call it a fighting save.
Are pakistan looking to chase 200 in final session.
They can say whatever they want, they can't really fool anyone. On top of that, people don't really have a scapegoat this time around in the shape of Misbah/Waqar.
Knowing our fans, the captain here will bear all the brunt and the management will go unscathed.
Commies trying their best to make it interesting. I am really ashamed by this meek surrender.
The captain at the moment is in the middle and guiding the partnership and i guess must take the brunt.

I am not saying it cant be done ... see my problem is this...
All day long pakistan have struggled to score even 2 per over with 2 set batsmen.
Now suddenly they will score 6 an over at ease ?
This reminds me of how Akmal used to come with required run rate 8 per over and was asked to perform a miracle.
I feel for Akmal actually watching this.
And i feel for Babar Azam and Sarfraz who would be so frustrated at this and asking them to play 7 an over in last session of test match is so damn unfair.
Captain is atleast trying to be aggressive and playing some sort of shots. Sami's on the other hand has been a strokeless effort so far. I don't know what kind of approach is this one. Totally clueless. Don't know whether it's Azhar who is keeping him restrained or it's the natural game of Sami that is hampering him at the moment.
Azhar can always ask Sami to go for his shots
Sami needs to get out ASAP
I endorse this strategy fully as the template for chasing a win.
They are fighting well here. You are looking at one side of the coin - look at what NZ doing. Asking is almost 6 now (forget about 48 overs, maximum 45 overs is possible within the time) & Ken has put almost an ODI fielding, when they are host & leading 1-0.
Put 3 slips & a gully with cover open & ask PAK players to drive on the rise by pitching it up - if they are good enough, asking 6 will be maintained; if not slips will get busy. What do you expect - NZ will keep 4 men on line & bowl short of length staff, a feet outside off, PAK openers to go Afridi style? This game is not street cricket.
I dont know how you can equate this to chasing a win.
Have a look at our runrate in Sharjah and Galle chasing a win.
This one has no intent.
Its more like, well we will see in last session.,, if not, draw is okay.
Sami please out ho ja bhai
These are not Sharjah and Galle conditions.
MMHS - Pak has all 10 wickets in hand. Why not slog for few overs and see how it goes! They can go back to defence if they lose 2/3 wickets. Only 45 overs remain now.
Sami seems like that kid who always wants to keep batting just because he owns the bat..
Sami has as much strike rotation ability as shezad
Its 6 now , it wasnt 6 when it started. How on earth you can defend a runrate under two after 55 overs on a pitch which ia quite ok to bat. Whatever field you set ,this is extremely poor batting. I know its not street cricket but its not 70s anymore.
I have to say these NZ commiees are damn annoying !! No insight in the game whatsoever and it seems as if NZ are the only team playing this game
