What does the future hold for Misbah and Waqar now? How long does pcb plan to persist with him.

I already said in October that Misbah won't surive this NZ tour humiliation.

Only issue being that SA games are very near so the PCB might not take the risk to fire Misbah .. yet. But these are his last few months for sure.

No way the PCB is persisting with this humiliation in every other away series. Pak media will grill them, eat them alive.

This 5 bowler strategy has been an epic fail from Misbah.

It has achieved nothing but will cost us massively when it is our time to bat. Everyone knew our tail was long anyway and he compounded that by sticking Faheem at 7? Was he supposed to run through Williamson and Latham or something?

If Misbah had any shame he would resign after this test match, there's only so many humiliations he can be a part of in good conscience.

Our bowling is worse than our batting in test matches in last few years. Everyone thinks it is our batting that is the ussue in SENA conditions but in last few tours of Australia and NZ especially our bowling has been exposed. If you focus on India there batting has been pretty average but it is their bowling that kept them in first test match and the second one right now.

Yes you are right. .. Our bowling is worst than the batting...

Naseem Shah looks toothless and bowling bad balls. Shaheen is the only hope.

Ideally you go for 5 bowlers because you think the bowlers will have a long day in the field and that the team is going to bowl around 150+ overs an innings to balance the load among the bowlers. So I think it is going according to plan.

EDIT: Also I believe if 4 bowlers can't get you wickets. 5th one will not as well

Horrible first hour for Pakistan.

Looks like it's going to be a long day.

Kane will quietly get a double here, Nicholls will probably score a hundred as well. Fun times.

Looking at that wicket ..get ready to be rolled out batters plenty of bounce in this wicket they will bombard us

Good one from Naseem. As said yesterday Pak in the last year or so have been pretty poor in terms of using short ball. Cant blame Naseem much, he is learning the art of bowling and execution at test level.

Why would you ball a batsman his first ball full and straight after getting the earlier on a short ball? BJ Watling isn't a no. 11

Pakistan's problems are far deeper than the revamping of domestic cricket in the country.

The problems are deep rooted which are basic understanding of the modern day cricket and step by step strategic planning.

Coaching standards at every level in the country are demoralising and haven't got a clue of the innovations in cricket and the pace the game is moving at day by day.

Naseem should run in bowl fast, ignore the management. Both times hes bent his back he's created chances.

If Pak somehow get Kane out in this session, game is back in the balance.

Good bowling by Naseem, even though it was not out. He really needs to stop with these no balls, though.

We have gotten lucky with the wicket. It is time to take a genuine wicket to restrict NZ.

Well Williamson would have been out lbw if the umpire called it. Also, Abbas dropped a dolly off of Naseem.

Chances are being created.

Naseem bowled all those short balls after taking the wicket and not even at good pace.

I think he’s been told he will risk his back and career if he bowls like that. So they’ve been trying to remodel his action into a slower, less stressful version.

Add to that ke Naseem is a heavily rhythm-dependent bowler, and is coming back from injury. The slower pace, shorter runup, less slingy action all make sense.

Waqar thinks too much because his back was broken in his prime. We are not a charity team or care home team, we want to win. If he cant bowl fast, he's not good enough to be in the team.

If Pakistan can get these two out before 300... we might bowl NZ out before 350.

Come on boys, do something!

I dont mind attacking the stumps and keeping it straight but then field should he set accordingly. There should be couple of attacking fielders on the leg inside the circle as well incase of a miscue.

Using the fielders to dismiss batsmen and creat pressure is also an art of cricket which Pak coaches, analysts and captains need to pay some attention to.

More poor captaincy, Naseem got you the wicket but dont mean you run him into the ground. He should have made the change, helping Watling to get himself in against a tired bowler.

To quote Shoaib Akhtar - “it’s the psychological complexes that some people in the management hold that affect their decisions and end up holding Pakistan back.”

Scorecard of 2019 when NZ beat Eng by innings is being showed. :stokes

Well it is true but capitalizing chances are part of the game. Abbas was the culprit who is a bowler and it is quite strange that Pakistani bowlers are mostly liabilities on the field when they are not bowling.

It’s such a shame Yasir can’t bowl a good googly otherwise I’d bring him after this over and say to him to bowl a googly first up.

Waqar might have issues with Shoaib during their playing days as well but, i highly doubt Waqar can go so low that at this age he would not handle a kid correctly due to his complexes.

With these young pacers we can doubt his effectiveness but definitely not his sincerity in my opinion.

He does ball a googly which he sparingly uses but, unfortunately doesnt spin much even on spinning wickets.

Was thinking who can dismiss the beast that Williamson is. Yasir with possibly the first delivery deceiving the batsmen and got the wicket.

True. If I can remember correctly Shadab has a spinning googly too however he doesn’t use it often anymore.

Huge wicket.

Pakistan back in the match, need to go full steam at the lower, mix it up with some throat balls and aggression.

350 is only par on this.

Game is on. Wonderful catch by Harris. Also need to credit the captaincy after the drinks break because the first hour was bang average.

Shadab’s problem in recent times has been his stock ball consistency, loop and flight. His bowling sometimes is too flat. He is still young so hopefully he can put in some hard yards.

NZ is going to attack now, including their tail enders. Inexperience of Pak bowling gets magnified in such situations. Hopefully they have learned a bit from first test against Eng this year.

Indeed. He still has time on his side. Should do better in the future.

If you ever need clear proof of bias...this is it.

How was the soft signal not out? So Harris Sohail was basically cheating according to the umpire by claiming that catch?

That was pathetic from Umpires. Pak bowlers could have had NZL down 7 or 8 had catches been taken.
