Big match coming up on Wednesday with Pakistan facing unbeaten NZ in a must-win match.

NZ's biggest chink in their armour is batting fragility outside of KW. Get him out early and Pakistan will win.

What should be the bowling plan?
 
Simple is that don't drop a catch.... Or run out chance. Just unlike we did against Rohit Sharma

Also get him in early against Amir or best bet Nz batting is second and wicket favour spin then Shadab can het him he was not comfortable against Tahir
 
Pakistan is usually good team to contain Williamson. Problem is that Mr Guptill that we always struggles against even he is out of form we have habit of making him a hero
 
So what team will Pakistan play? Is the time to get Hasnain in ?
 
NZ has historically been weak against extreme pace , not this team though.

I will give husnain a go ahead of shaheen against them , the teams are so mismatched. Pakistan will need some x factor.
 
Get Williamson out quick and we might have a chance. I would keep the same XI, but against Afghanistan, I would play Hasnain.
 
Taylor is the one that kills us

That hack on the leg side always gets us

They also have arguably the best bolwer

Drop Hafeez to five.

Play Babar as an opener.

Fakhar at 3. Haris at 4.

Then not drop the catches of Taylor, Williamson, & CDG. InshAllah we got this.
 
Our only issues will be the toss and our fielding.

Both NZ and Pak prefer batting first

Our fielding is horrendous! We will drop catches.

3rd seamer remains a huge worry. Sorry but SSA cant play that role. Has been poor during the WC.

Maybe try Hasnain.

Shoaib Akhtar proved himself before the 1999 world cup at FC level, while Hasnain has played only few FC/OD games.
 
The way lady luck has been smiling at the Kiwis I have a bad feeling about this one.

Go with this team for the remainder of the World Cup, I like our chances against NZ as long as we don't drop catches.

Pakistan top order played well in all games except 1st game. They will fail anytime now.
 
NZ have been quite ordinary this WC so far. They have won, sometimes by the skin of their teeth, matches which they were expected to win anyway. Pakistan is another such match, except that nothing can be "expected" when it comes to Pakistan.
 
I have to say I have a bad feeling - that they are going to replace Henry with Southee... who will destroy us. With both bat and ball.

Let’s hope Southee stays out and we negotiate Boult well.

If it's not swinging, southee's just a rich man's Aizaz cheema. We've countered him well recently.
 
i have a bad feeling that this match will resemble 2006 CT match vs SA where SA scored 240 odd and we were dismissed for 70 odd

NZ is yet to lose a game in this World Cup. Everyone has an off day and it may very well be against Pakistan.

This is the best possible lineup for Pakistan.

It has all in it.
 
Pakistan basically have an 11 man squad for the rest of the WC

Asif - Liability in the field, can't play him
Hasan - Completely lost his rhythm and control
Hasnain - Too young
Malik - Lol

Same team will have to play every game from here on in.

We don't have to worry about NRR as long as England loses 2 matches.

I think it had to do with running up the slope.

Should be hopefully nothing to worry about.
 
Keep the same team as today. If the pitch is the same as the New Zealand vs South Africa one we have a very good chance of winning. Need to see off the new ball and then target CDG,Neesham,and Santner.

Shaheen looks to carry an injury. That elbow is too heavily strapped for something to just be normal. Honestly, they should draft in Rizwan from the reserves in place of Malik and someone from Pakistan as well in the next couple of days. That will mean at least an uplift in the quality of substitute fielders.

Also, I've got a feeling that Hassan's gonna bounce back. Guy won us a champions trophy, he'll surely get it right in time for the business end of the tournament. InshAllah.

I think NZ has been very lucky with their schedule this tournament. WI almost took them down.
 
While I would prefer we don’t play Hafeez, he does find a way to turn up against NZ sometimes. Maybe the same team, but I hope hasnain is making a stronger case in the nets

Santner is a very good bowler...pretty useful than u think with both bat and ball.

Shaheen bowled well today (relatively). I don't think he will be dropped. Pak will play same 11.

Good news is that that 11 is the best one so far. Sad that we had to endure Malik getting 8,0,0 for that to happen (even though he average liked 13 in England prior to that).
 
Pak just have to see off Boult and we'll do ok.

I'm much more confident in our current openers than in the past. Eg. Hafeez, Butt, Shahzad etc.

I think Pakistan (= fakhar) will attack Boult given their style of play. Honestly I worry more about guys like Matt Henry who need teams like Pakistan to sustain their career.
 
Boult isn’t the only threat. Ferguson could bounce us out easily,
 
Their bowling is solid need to watch out for Ferguson and even neesham I feel he might be the bowler that will get a lot of wickets vs Pakistan
 
I am not sure what to make of Shaheen’s performance today.

Can’t be called good. Wasn’t too bad either.
Maybe Hasnain in for him. Same team otherwise.
 
For me the biggest threat is dealing with Bolt with the new ball. NZ bowling and fielding are A class.
 
The top 3 is the key for all teams in this World Cup. Our top 3 relies on club stature player Imam and midget Babar. Need to bring in Asif to open with Fakhar. Will probably fail but the other 2 are'nt doing wonders anyways and are of amateur level.
 
Guptil, kane and.taylor are a big threat to us.
Grandhomme is mediocre but always performs with both bat and ball against us.
Trent is a dangerous!

But the biggest danger is lockie ferguson! He is going to bowl 90mph bouncers at our players heads!
And none of them will be able to cope!
 
Bat first. Target 300+. Get rid of two of the top four before NZ reaches 100. Hold on to all the catches.
