Our bowling will do good I’m not worried about it
Big worry is we collapsing to their openeing bowlers
If fakhar and imam can manage to stick in there we should be good

Huge match tomorrow now.

Should be a beauty.

Pakistan should be fired-up for this match.

Not much chance of a rain but there is going to be a cloud cover for most of the day so not a good news for Pakistani batsmen...

InshAllah a Pakistani win! If the guys can win all their remaining games I will be proud of them even if they don't qualify for the semis!

For the NZ game: my heart says that NZ will be hit by a massive green storm in Birmingham and get blown away by Pakistan. The inspired change that I would make for this match is to rest Shaheen Afridi and debut Hasnain in this World cup to add a dimension to our fast bowling attack that we lack - a right arm quickie! Our 3 lefties become predictable, and I would absolutely love to see Pakistan go in with a left-right arm combination for the opening spell.

No problem with the cloud cover. If there's cloud cover in the morning, this will be the first time in this tournament that Sarfaraz should bowl first (unlike against Aus and Ind where he should have batted). We will be a handful for NZ batsmen and there's every chance we can knock them out for low 200s if there's assistance in the pitch! The sun might come out later and make batting easier later when chasing.

Winning toss and batting first will be crucial

This is almost always the case - except when the conditions are ideal for bowling. In that scenario we should take the correct decision. The problem with Aus/India was that Sarfaraz and Mickey over thought the situation. With India, they thought D/L method will come into play but did not execute their plan well, and against Australia they completely mis-read the pitch and thought the grass would aim seam movement but really the pitch was a belter.

They need to make their final decision minutes before the toss.

newzealand has manhandled pakistan a lot over the years , time for a revenge.

In last 18 odis matches against nz, pakistan have won only 3.

Nope. Win toss bat first. Forget conditions. Forget everything. Trust me

Haha - I think the same way as you most of the time (I was furious BOTH times against Aus and Ind). Either way - we should be able to perform well against NZ batsmen, but facing their seamers under cloud cover will be extremely dangerous.

Good news is no rain is expected. Win the toss and bat scoring above 300 that will put us in the driving seat. Other then Hasnain coming in for Shaheen the team that defeated the RSA will take the field. After England's loss today we must be up for this one.

rude shock awaiting for clueless pak fans tomorrow.

NZ gonna finish you off. Some other big team will take care of NZ.

Too nervous!
Make or break time!
Can't write any more!

Just to let you guys know,
edgbaston is a UNLUCKY ground for pak!

Allah khair rhat hai!

In England when there is cloud cover, for some unknown reasons there is no swing in the air. Ball only seams in cloud cover. Pakistan will be batting first no matter we win toss or not because if we win toss we will opt to bat and if NZ win they will bowl first. First ten overs are crucial. imam should look to take maximum strike. He is technically more superior than Fakhar and should look to see of first power play. If he succeeds we are in for a comfortable win IA

guys what is the weather forecast for tomorrows game. I sense it will be a huge win for Pakistan as NZ is yet to lose one and I am sure it will be tomorrow against us as it is needed badly

Some of us aren't clueless so it wouldn't be that much of a shock, but thanks for the heads up anyway.

I am just happy to still be in this, and will look forward to the opportunity to strike down the favourites NZ!

If pak bat first tomorrow they need to careful and read the pitch well this may not be a 300 pitch.

260-270 might do it..

Just hoping from a good performance, we can't be relying on one or two players to do the heavy carrying otherwise we'll be easy beats in the Semis.

Hows the pitch and conditions?? a lot depends on that.... Too be honest I have stopped predicting for pakistan as to what may go down... Its a tough one...heard that its been raining and team couldn't get a chance to do outdoor practice... well well well...

we also had rain disruption during CT17 before our big game.. hopefully boys had rest and show more power and determination in the game:amir3:sarf2

Pak has lost 12 of its last 13 matches against NZ. Seems like we have a mental block against them. Lost home and away in ODIs. Did win the T20s however. Plus they’ll be playing without pressure while “every match is a final now” for Pak in the words of Azhar Mahmood.

Not confident but Haris gives me hope.

What’s NZ’s weakness?

Fielding needs to come together for Pak and 3rd seamer alongside Amir and Wahab needs to do better.

NZ is a pretty complete side and is generally underrated. Their openers however are not in great form while middle order is mainly dependent upon Williamson and Taylor so Pak should try to capitalize on that along with overs of Grandhome, Neesham and Santner if possible.

I won't mind if pak loses fighting hard. However, If they show a lackluster performance and roll over easily then the pitchforks are coming out for sure.

If we are forced to chase, Allah khair kare.

Heart and mind says Pak will win.

I think Grandhomme is a dependable bat and useful bowler. Would not call him a weakness even a relative one.

But yes NZ openers are not in great form.

Breaking the Williamson Taylor partnership will be the key to this match IMO.

Really hope Tom Blundell gets a game tomorrow & scores a fifty or even more. Also hope Ish Sodhi plays & gets a couple of wickets.

I was referring to grandhome's bowling as something Pak would need to capitalize on as other than that Boult, Henry and Ferguson are in decent forms.

Fakhar is due a century.

Hope he scores it tomorrow.

We need him to fire.

The pitch?

We should bat first.

Score 320+ and let the ball do talk.

Amir should get rid of Munro and Guptill.

Shaheen/Hasnain needs to get Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor.

Shadab, Imad and Hafeez will be crucial.

Wahab needs to wipe out the tail with his yorkers.

Win or lose, it's nice to see meaningful games late into the group stage. No one likes dead rubbers.

Don't worry, we will get their openers back into form!

Pakistan should make one change, Hasnain in place of Shaheen. And the most important part is not to drop catches as we have good enough bowlers to take care of Kiwi batsman.

Need to see a rampant Pakistan performance tomorrow. InshaAllah the real Pakistan will turn up tomorrow!

Can someone look up paks win/loss ratio at edgbaston!
I was born in edgbaston(the area not the cricket ground) and my dad used to take me to see pak play there, when i was a child, WE ALWAYS LOST!

Could play Hasnain as surprise package.... We know we will get proper filth from both Shaheen and Hasan.

If Pakistan win tomorrow , it will be Pak vs India final on 14th July at Lords. Aus finishing on top Ind 2nd NZ 3rd Pak 4th. Pak beating Aus in semi and Ind beating NZ. This Final will be biggest match of cricket history.

Pak will bat get around 270, they will put NZ under pressure early then Tom Blundell will play a blinder, but with wickets falling at the other end NZ will fall just short with Bundell devastated.

Can anyone help me with parking?

I have only just realised that parking has to be booked in advance and all parking seems to be sold out. Help!!

Who the hell is this Blundell who every body is making out to some ATG.... if he was so good he would have been in the first eleven for NZ already.

But seriously you guys don't have anything like Uber or Lyft in the UK?

We used to be beat this team for fun especially in WC's. How the tables have turned.

If you win toss, then bat first. You ain't winning chasing against Kiwi bowling in a bloody world cup unless you get them under 150. Also don't drop catches. Anyway, expecting a cracker of a match.

And Sri Lanka
On the other side of the table, South Africa always used to beat us for fun

As for NZz They came back very well in the uae series in November
Southee will be dangerous especially if we bat first , he came back into the team on that match too

And also New Zealand also played their last match as egbaston so they know the pitch well

There is parking at Cannon Hill Park which is next to the ground.

Thanks both. Yes thinking of parking away from the ground and then using Uber. But I imagine that on a match day, Uber will be charging through the roof.

Cannon Hill car park only has 40 spaces according to Parkopedia.

Pakistanis are more hungry for the Cup than pretty much anyone else, think it will be a walkover win.

Pakistan will bat first score 280+ with no centuries but one 90+ and a one or two half centuries, NZ will start well and then lose their way and but not before a lower order flurry of runs, this after terrible fielding and even more catches dropped by Pakistan.

Shoaib will make another youtube video with 1m+ views within 5 hours.

Pakistan 280/8
NZ 255 ao.

Stamped and banked.

Lol with Pakistan it’s just that everything has to click for them to win legit everything one exception was South Africa match they dropped like 9 catches still won the match cause South Africa are bigger bottlers than us so that was a one off teams like newzealand won’t let you go like that. Drop a Taylor once and he’ll wreck you like he wrecked us in the 2011 World Cup match. So yeah Pakistan gotta bat, bowl, and field well to win.

PP supporters hold a special banner or something so that we can recognize :ua:uakmal

Who the hell is this Blundell who every body is making out to some ATG.... if he was so good he would have been in the first eleven for NZ already.

You will see his greatness only if he plays against us tomorrow and plays a freak innings and than the world will start talking about him only for him to fail against every other opposition he faces next and than he will never be seen in newzeland colours ever again.

Ladypool road isnt far away, plenty of roads around there to park. Or there is a large field just past the ground which they open for parking, it has thousands of spaces. Previously I used it and paid £10 for the day. Otherwise use this site, I use it to park around the country, its pretty good with excellent prices. Just remember to print your parking ticket and leave in the window if you book from there.

Once you're near the ground, you will be directed to the parking by parking attendants. They'll help you get a space. Might be better using Calthorpe park with entry from the Cheddar Rd side.

I predict a big big win for Pakistan tomorrow. either by 100+ runs or chase in 30-32 overs. Destruction

The only worry I have is Trent Boult. He is perhaps more lethal than Starc and Amir if the new ball is swinging.

Batting first seems to be the way now but also a risk against such bowlers.
