Fabulous job by the Christchurch folks after the natural calamities. Every time I go there, it just never fails to amaze me.
Now on to steamrolling the FTBs.![]()
I hope bracewell plays instead of wagner.
Wagner makes B. Kumar look like akhtar
Hate these 2 session green wickets... makes the toss play an important role..We lost the toss. The pitch will be fine by the time we bowl
Can someone explain to me why Henry and Milne are not in the test squad?
Add one of those 2 to Boult & Southee and your pace attack is box office.
So why relative trundlers like Wagner and Bracewell?
Never heard of Henry but I reckon Milne would break in a Test match.
Henry bowled very well in UAE. Was bowling around 140K in all spells and had the ability to move the ball. The best thing about his bowling was.. he pitched it up and allowed the ball to swing.
embarrassing for christchurch right now. looks like an amateur has prepared the track

Not at all. Bowlers should try to land on the flat part of their foot.
Great to see cricket back in Christchurch!
look at this guytelling the bowlers how to bowl
Quite clearly just common sense for those with half a brain.

He has already taken 50 Test wkts , clearly without your advices. It seems the guy who prepared the track hasn't got a brain at all.
these guys have bowled around the world and i have never seen them slip. it wasnt just one guy but both have slipped.
just poor standards, i hope it improves as the series moves on.
You don't need 50 wickets to know if you land on the side of your boot you will likely slip over. Its not advice its common sense but not all are common around here i guess.
Dude, it wasn't bowler's fault coz both Lakmal 'n Eranga slipped. Stop trying to be so defensive. That curator has obviously no common sense. That's why he had left too much grass behind the crease.
I didn't see Lakmals but it was definitely Erangas fault the way he landed and he hasn't been to this part of the world so he probably wasn't expecting it. Not being defensive just stating the facts because thats what the pitches are like here.

There is no ground in the world where you will land well if you land with the foot upside down
it's common sense to not have so much grass on behind the crease. obviously this curator is an amateur. poor preparation for the first test in christchurch after almost a decade. sad.
It was the first delivery of the game![]()
The pitch is covered in grass. Bowlers all around NZ bowl on far worse than that and they don't slip over.
Just poor technique from Eranga.
it was grassier behind the crease
the guy messed up and embarrassed the city, stop trying to defend two international slipping in the first over. it was amateurish but the city will learn.

embarrassed the city?
Starting to dislike Sri Lankan cricket fans
No it wasn't it was rebowled. I was getting a sandwich.
That's what I meant. He was going to deliver the first delivery of the game when he slipped![]()

Shouldn't of slipped then.

He wouldn't have if the curator had an ounce of brain.
Whats putting brain on the pitch going to do? it would be more slippery.
Are you alright ??
I was talking about using the brain. Guess you need to have one in the first place to understand it.
Yes but how would he use the brain on the pitch? does it help the surface stay abrasive?
