Jimmy hasn't bowled badly at all. Every chance is dropped however.

James, I hate your lad Root. Got out poorly, and dropped an absolute dolly just now.

We're just having a collective bad game. That much is clear.

Finn bowling like he did for Otago here a few years ago.

Very wicketlessly.

+70 overs since Broady took a wicket in Tests.

Getting bowled out with a 250 lead won't be a bad thing for NZ, England will have to bat out two days to save the game.

England shouldn't underestimate our bowling the second time they bat. It has always been our batting that has been our problem.

Nz have a good pace attack, if they can put up enough runs on the board (like this innings) then they can possibly go on to win this series :hadlee . Southee was phenomenal on India and Sri lankan flat tracks.

311/4... your team trails by 150... only an idiot would react like that.

Watling goes for a golden. Good ball by Broad but silly idea to leave it.

NZ collapsing here.

Shouldn't undo their hard work now, they should dig in & grind England somre more, try to deflate & tire them a but so England don't feel they have the momentum.

It's important for the rest of the series that NZ show they aren't here for just 1 good day then crumbling if you keep that them.

England should be carefull with Southee here. He can plunder bad bowling.

Looks like the plan is for Southee to slog.

Wonder what Baz will do when Southee holes out? Martin & Wagner can both handle a bat a bit so no need to go crazy from Baz until Boult gets in.

Mccullum should control his inner Afridi till NZ are 8 down.

Mccullum has to be one of the most frustrating players ever... outrageously talented batsman but averages only 35

Well he's just slogging now.

On the talent vs frustraion scale he measures only 6.5 out of 10 (10 being the full Afridi in this case andthe maximum possible score the universe will allow).

Thats his plan any game.

Newzealand need to add some quick runs and take the lead past 250.

The first four off Finn was excellent, no slogging there. He could easily be averaging 45 or even 50 if he applied himself and kept the slogging down

Lead over 200, only two results possible in this match now. NZ have a big shot at winning this match

Ok, question.

Do you delcare when the lead hits 250?

Declare next session with say 10-15 overs left in the day?

Do you bat as long as you can, even into tomorrow (unlikely as that is, but still possible)?

Was going to happen sooner or later the way he was going after everything.

Try to get as big a lead as possible and bowl England out for an innings victory. Bigger the lead NZ wouldn't have to bowl again

Lead is now over 200, 7 wicket down Mccullum should start going at it. Even if they get bowled out with 250 lead, it will be a job well done. Give England atleast 15 overs today and try to get two wickets down.

As unlikely as it would have sounded before the series, if NZ get a lead over 250 then this could actually happen :inzi

That is the way he plays. He scored 150 something a few months ago in domestic cricket doing it (Then got a fivefer).

NZ did very well to get momentum back after that collapse.

Enjoying this NZ performance. They're not a bad team to watch now with Rutherford at the top, Taylor & Baz in the middle, Southee having a slog and a decent crop of youngish seamers.

David Lloyd predicts 10-0 in favor of England in the Ashes.

I miss the days when ____ to Martin was an easy wicket.

Now, who's surprised that Finn has failed so magnificently this game?

Brownlie & Watling are decent as well

Am I the only one who loves trent boult's bowling? Left arm seamer with Great action plus gets good swing/ seam movement.

Yeah, just a personal preference I was listing the players whose style I enjoy to watch.

Brownlie is a decent player, but I don't think much of Watling.

Ex-Western Australia keeper Luke Ronchi qualifies for NZ citizen soon, they should give him a go, I think he'll score more runs than Watling or whoever else they have.

What an innings by Rutherford against this overrated English attack.

Congratulations to Finn for his century, average slowly getting to 30, benchmark for a good English fast bowler, good luck. :rondu

Watling is quite good, scored some runs against SA while most of the NZ Batsmen failed.

Watling's born in SA, bound to shine sooner than later. :tahir

@vandokkum - Nope. U r not alone in fan club of Trent Boult. He bowled tremendously well in NZ's recent tour to India. Like u said he has got a lovely action, decent pace and can swing the ball both sides(from the evidence of India series). He has all the qualities to become NZ's spearhead in pace department.

IMHO, boult is better than wagner who got 4 wickets in the 1st innings against England.

He was getting good movement in Sri lanka as well, he will be a handful if there is any movement in the air/ off the pitch. Can also reverse the ball
