I know india better than anyone else. Its said that the rss ideology is there in india currently, but they are self respecting country and their diaspora acts accordingly to what their govt wants for them.

Pakistan should learn and be independant like them. Not rely on USA.

West likes countries that are dependant on them.

I appeal to the youth your future is in your hands. Countrys sovereignty is in your hand. Jamhooriyat is protected by the people not by the army or outsiders.

If this doesnt happen, anyone who comes in power he will try to appease foreign powers

I have to agree with him, it absolutely makes no sense the decisions past governments have taken of Pakistan, I can’t see why Pakistani citizens won’t support him.

He is easily the best you will get, self respecting hardworking leader.

Agree with imran regarding India and the self respect they demand from top brass abroad.

Are you saying Indian government does not indulge in corruption? On the corruption perception index scores there is not a lot of difference between India and Pakistan.

What is inclusive is the constant Indian references in his speeches to make any point.

Anyways we don’t need validation from Ik, the irony here is that based on PP atleast and I am not saying this about you because you are a level headed poster but these things just give us material to have a good laugh at some posters whose every post revolves around anti-india rhetoric while bigging up Imran.

I personally still think Ik is an honest guy and has good intentions but on the downside doesn’t have a good enough team and has an inflated ego which comes in the way of rational decision making.

Respect comes with prosperity and economic growth of the nation. There is nothing wrong with seeking help when the country is in dire straights. Imran should have been under good books of US. Instead he was constantly criticizing them and totally sided with China. India plays a great balancing act when it comes to foreign policy.

He references India because it is the most similar country to Pakistan. So people can relate to examples using India. If he mentions Brazil, Egypt, Laos, etc, it would not resonate with the people of the country.

And he is not validating India's foreign policy for Indians. He is doing it for Pakistanis. So they can learn to have an independent foreign policy.

And he brings up RSS, Hindutva, Indian Muslims because Pakistan was created on Muslim Nationalism in the subcontinent. People in Pakistan would not relate to issues effecting Muslims in China, or Philippines, or Darfur,, the same way they would to Indian Muslims. For example huge difference to Pakistanis if Muslims in France cant wear a hijab and Muslims in India cant.

Naidu Family, Jagan family, KCR family, DMK/ Stalin family, Yadav family, Mayawati gang etc etc.

We have a sharif/zardari family in every state lol

Pakistanis need to care about what happens in Pakistan to their Muslims as well as minorities.

There are other forums to raise concerns.

Do you think Modi tweets about what happens in Bangladesh or Pakistan every time some minority gets attacked? There are other ways to deal with that.

Do you see Bangladesh PM or head of some other Islamic country constantly tweet about any issue in India.

There is a difference between playing to the gallery and maintaining diplomacy.

You are getting carried away by the semantics, those things won’t put food on the table for the poor people.

Maybe poverty, economy is not in his control but his mouth and hands are, aren’t they?

It really doesn’t bother me what IK writes about Modi. At best it becomes banter online. However what IK writes has diplomatic repercussions.

There is no difference between you and me then if you want IK’s rhetoric for some online point scoring. You should be concerned or happy about his policies.

A PM can do more than one thing right? He can focus on the economy, and other issues effecting his own population. plus talk about issues that his population cares about (Indian Muslims). Anyway majority of time IK talks about Pakistan.

Also unlike other Islamic nations, Pakistan was created on Muslim Nationalism of India. So why would other countries care about Muslims of India. Same way Pakistanis are not really talking about Muslims of Syria, China, Yemen, etc.

The issue that Modi has with Pakistan is not IK criticizing him. Its issues that were caused by the establishment. As in cross border attacks, Mumbai investigation etc.

Politicians are not that sensitive to criticism. They are used to it.

IK wanted to have good relations with India, and since he had a good relationship with the establishment he had a higher chance of delivering on issues that Modi cared about than PML N or PPP. Ultimately any improvement of relations with India will need to take the establishment on board.
 
Even if he does, now his Twitter bashing won't have the same zing. Who cares to follow a random opposition leader.

Imran Khan is right. We know Indians used to love him in his playing days. Obviously he wanted good relations and extended the olive branch a few times however India's actions in Kashmir made it impossible to cooperate

You are wrong. We have it in almost every district. The local lead MLAs are no less mafia, just that there is less media coverage in them. It's a complete eco system altogether.

But the difference is, Indian judiciary body is much powerful than that of Pakistan including the constitution which generally doesn't keep vague definitions.

For example, look at the 44th amendments. Then congress govt abused the power and took the whole country to emergency. But the next amendments make it very hard to abuse again.

These check points prevents India going in to chaos unlike Pakistan where no body even respects the supreme court.

Very sure Modi govt will use this statement in next election rally saying even leader of neighbouring enemy nation is appreciating India's foreign policy but our own opposition parties cant.

All in all...a very surprising statement from Imran but a very welcoming one for BJP supporters like us

Since independence India submits to Soviet’s & Yanks . Even now India is slowing down its support for Russia due to American pressure .

Why? The praise was for India not BJP/Modi. Did India not have a similar foreign policy when Congress was in power? I am assuming that if Congress was in power right now they would also stay neutral in the Ukraine Russia war?

India as a country has never been conquered by anyone bro.

Pre India was a collection of individual Hindu kingdoms on their own which was conquered by foreigners.

Yes since independence India had to depend on USSR and at times USA, there is no shame in that, India had no economy, no money and needed to align with much better off countries, all British left were roads, bridges and a railway network whilst they had already took billions or god knows trillions of money, gold, diamond etc back to England

As of now, India is not bowing down to any US pressure yet, they are pretty much having their cake and eating it.

US would tell little Raul Puppu to shape up or get ready to be punished to which he would drop is diapers in fear and do what the US requests within no time.

Might I also add; there would also be no border issues with China either if Congress was in power, as Ammayi Sonya and Raul Puppu would have given the Indian areas of LOC to China for a few Billions transferred to their swiss NRI accounts (which the Chinese will happily do)...

India doesn’t have an independent policy just because it’s gairat quam. It has one because it is fastest growing large economy in the world that is inevitably with a massive market space that everyone wants to be in. Economy is power and destiny.

Imran is not only talking about foreign policy but how foreign powers cant dictate anything to India. We never had this much geo political clout before Modi became PM. A meek leader like Manmohan Singh, who used to take dictation from Sonia Gandhi in everything, was a pushover and western worlds dream. A strong leader is very important to maintain geo political clout especially for emerging countries like ours. Indira Gandhi was the only strong leader Congress had and since then it was downfall until Modi arrived.

So any praise of India, especially from PM of a country, is direct endorsement of Modi govt's hardwork.

India has 700 million in poverty.

Only due to its huge population & land mass. it’s economy uses cheap labour & cheap services which helps the rich get very rich .

India hasn’t been independent since Britain waltzed in & robbed it blind . It still won’t return many valuable Indian assets . Such is the low respect for India from western nations

Why are you bringing Muslim invasion which happened 1000s of years ago? You do realize right, Pakistan was also a part of India back then and everyone used to follow Sanatan dharma here? Then Islamic scholars/Christian fathers came and spread their religion. People got converted and they are now sub continent muslims/christians. Then 500 years ago, guru Nanak created his own religion and people who followed him adopted Sikhism. So when you say India was ruled by invadors for 1000s of years, its not the India we know today...it was the entire subcontinent.

Please come out from your high horse and try to understand what King Khan is trying to say. He is talking about present India under Modi and how no first world countries can treat it as pushover as we are a khuddar nation.

Islamabad: Pakistan's Opposition leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan for lavishing praise on India, saying he should go to the neighbouring country if he likes it so much.

The remarks of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam, who is the daughter of deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, came after Khan called India a "nation with a great sense of honour".

Prime Minister Khan, in an address to the nation on Friday night ahead of the no-trust motion where he has little chances of surviving unless some miracle takes place, said that he was not against India and had a lot of following in the neighbouring country.

"No superpower can force India to do anything against its interests. They (India) are buying oil from Russia despite sanctions. Nobody can dictate India. What the European Union ambassadors said here, could they say that to India also?” he asked and added that they could not because India is a sovereign nation.

Responding to his remarks, Maryam said that Khan has "gone mad".

Also to my Indian friends. India foreign policy is not independent as Imran says. You are dependent on Russia for 60% of your defense. You have no choice but to support or abstain. Just like Imran chooses to stay quiet on Uighur. This is the way of international relations and diplomacy. The only strength for India has not been independence but non alignment.

India has always balanced its relationship between Russia and the West. We will not take sides in their wars and not keep our eggs in one basket.

If India agrees to west demands and becomes a US ally, you think US will not help and even fund India replace its entire Russian hardware?

But this restricts our sovereignty.

However if US really wanted to push India to its limits, it has to offer the following:

Their opposition is divided and in tatters. As long as Rahul Gandhi remains congress chief, BJP will remain in power.

Kejriwal requires lot of money to fight BJP at all India level. That will take many years…

When as a pm you give dumb statements where you are praising your adversary. Imran should pack his bags and live in india if he loves it soo much and appreciates their fp.

Had this statement been made by shabaz the reaction of pti fans and imran would had been different.

If imran makes such statements than the problem is in us for not understanding his deeper thinking....

You do realize Nawaz Sharif has actual business interests in India, meaning his interests are compromised?

IK is only making statements, and you don't understand the context they are made in.

Every developing country has more richer countries making demands on foreign policy on them in return for trade deals, more aid etc.

But each nation also his it's own interests to look out for. So diplomats balance these demands with their own interests to keep more powerful allies happy while not selling out

India follows the US line some times because it needs US support to counter China. But when it comes to Russia, the historical links prevent them from listening to the US. Geopolitics is a cut throat business.

Pakistan's security establishment has pursued their own self interest in Afghanistan even during the war on terror while allied with the US and taking in a lot of dollars for fighting the war.
 
To not be under anybody’s thumb you need an economy & military as big as India’s. With the kind of debts Pakistan has it will always be under somebody’s thumb - either the west or China - never independent in the truest sense. IK just wanted to trade one master for another, but he doesnt get how ruthless the Chinese can be - ask the Sri lankans!

Americans sent a lame threat to Musharraf and expected him to accept 2 or 3 demands, the Bahadur lapdog accepted everything the Masters orders and then some.

This threat letter will come out one day. And it will be a national shame of Pakistan for an eternity.

Pakistan acted as a cheap prostitute to Nixon/Kissinger and India stood their ground. This is a historic fact. Doesn't matter whether we like it or not.
