On This Day: October 31, 1976 - Javed Miandad became the youngest person to make a Test double ton

On this Pakistan legend and the batsman who scored most runs for Pakistan in Test matches, Javed Miandad scored 206 against New Zealand in Karachi in 1976.

This was Javed Miandad's third test match ever and he scored a double century! In the same series, before, on debut he had scored a massive 163 runs.

Another Pakistani legendary batsman, Zaheer Abbas aka The Asian Bradman, on this day in 1985, played the last test match of his career.

He didn't really do anything of note in the test match, scoring only 4 runs in the test match, but Pakistan won the match by 8 wickets.

I recall going to NSK to see this - NZ players were pretty much demoralized by that innings!
 
Watching Javed Miandad play was like watching something so exciting. 1992 world cup final was great to watch as you could see legends like Imran Khan - Javed Miandad etc, My father went to watch this match and he looked pretty amazed when he returned :)

By the way, is it just me of does Miandad look the same age from his debut till now. He looks 30ish in the picture above and about the same in his 50s now. :) must be the 'stache

looks like he looked the same in his 20s also.
