Jaiswal resumed his impressive form today, achieving his maiden double hundred. Despite England's disciplined bowling, a combination of Anderson, Bashir, and Rehan Ahmed concluded India's innings at 396 – a seemingly par score on this pitch.

England made a promising start, adding 59 runs for the first wicket. However, Duckett faced difficulty with extra bounce, and Crawley's brisk fifty was halted by an exceptional catch from Shreyas Iyer.

Bumrah then showcased his prowess, dismantling England's middle order with reverse swing. Dismissing Root with an outswinger, Pope with an inswinger, and Stokes with a cutter, Bumrah finished with figures of 6/45. Despite Stokes' resistance with the tail, England conceded a 143-run lead.

India's openers displayed positivity in the final five overs of the day, giving the hosts an advantage. Yet, it's worth remembering India faced a similar situation on Day 2 in Hyderabad, and the outcome was less than favorable.

Day 3 to start now and India will be eyeing up a big lead so they can bat England out of this game.

Hope India is all out around 200 so game won't be dead. I think it's too much to chase over 350 in last inning.

Fantastic to watch Bumrah and Anderson in this test. Quality fast bowling.

WICKET! Sharma b Anderson 13 - India 29-1

Rohit Sharma fails again. BOWLED IM!!!

What a beauty that was from Anderson, he beats the outside edge of Sharma's bat, who departs for 13, one run less than what he made in India's first innings.

There was great seam movement and Sharma plays along the line but the ball turns away and smashes into his off stump.

Positive start for England.

WICKET! Jaiswal c Root b Anderson 16 - India 30-2

AND ANOTHER ONE FOR THE MIGHTY ANDERSON. FANTASTIC

Very good from Anderson here. Eng has some chance now.

Need to score at least 200 more runs though I don't know who is going to score that many.

Rohit should just retire without embarassing himself any more.

Jimmy Anderson is immortal. What skills he is showing at the young age of 41. Any one who says he doesn't deserve his place at the very highest echelon of fast bowlers is speaking rubbish.

India batting looks funny. batting avg mid 30s or below lol.

Hartley almost had another there when he trapped Gill lbw. It was given out on the field by Chris Gaffaney and India reviewed.

The replay shows there as bat involved. India are safe.

India already has a good lead to help them, otherwise it was looking bad for them.

Ball moves here in morning every day.

11 of the 22 wickets to pacers. Have both teams missed a trick here?

Anderson should have bowled 2 more overs. He looked like picking wicket every ball.

Gill uses his feet and smashes Bashir straight down the ground for six. It takes India's lead to 200.

Eng needed to have one more seamer. Ball was doing a lot.

This poor field placement by Eng. They are using up 2 fielders to save a single. Which by the way, they are not saving. Batsmen are getting their singles.

There should be close in fielders. A second fielder close in would have had Root standing finer and would have take the catch.

Easy singles with this in and out field. Indians will just take it.

Eng needs to not give these easy singles. Indians don't need to attack, they will happily keep taking singles.

lead of 222, another 78 runs and it might just be too much to chase with Bumrah in red hot form.
Mukesh can at the most donate only about 50-60 runs max. :cautious:

Hope Gill finally converts a start into a big one

So this match is essentially Bumrah v Anderson as the spinners have proved to be ineffective. England stocked their team with a bunch of them.

Needless, and will cost them the match.

And back to back boundaries now. 50 for Gill

For indian point of view it important to bat for longer even with slow scoring rate so pitch can start doing tricks

Gill is back .much needed for this series knowing Virat ,jaddu is not available

Watch a catch, iyer throw it away adter good start . now England is back in the game

That shot alone shows that Iyer doesn't deserve to play test cricket. He just got carried away by seeing Gill hitting 4s at the other end

Good riddance. Hope this is the last time they try this fraud Shreyas in test cricket. Hopefully soon out of whiteball too.

WICKET! Iyer c Stokes b Hartley - India 111-3

Fantastic catch by stokes. Hartley has the breakthrough.

It’s imperative now that gill must score a century. This can be his career saving innings.

How good is Rajat? Can he stay at the crease and get a personal 50?

O will he get out to :jimmy?

Anderson has 695 Test wickets. Can he reach 700 wickets in this tour? Can he surpass Shane Warne's 708 wickets?

Indians have really become poor against spin. None of these spinners are threatening but they lose wickets.

Pathetic shot selection so cost last two wickets .why they are batting so careless

This Patidar guy may not get another chance any time soon.

WICKET! Patidar c Foakes b Rehan - India 123-4

Another one!

The faintest of edges off the inside edge of Patidar's bat and Foakes takes a brilliant low catch behind the stumps.

The ball hit him between the thumb and fore finger and he manages to keep it within his gloves.

England keep chipping away.

Rajat Patidar has missed a golden opportunity to impress. Kohli will be back next game I guess.

Axar Patel's duty should be to stay at the crease as long as possible and support Gill and not go for those extravagant boundaries.

Lots of bad batting in this game.

England are not completely out of it but I think India will win, feels like it will be a Bumrah 10fer.

Not sure Kohli is available for next test. Jadeja is mostly out of series. KL is injured so is shami .
