Feel Rohit will retire from all formats post the 2024 T20 World Cup. And possibly Jadeja too after the home season this year against Bangladesh and Newzealand.

We will probably see the below team in Australia -

Jaiswal
Sudarshan/Gaikwad
Gill
Kohli
KL (C)
Pant
Sundar
Ashwin
Bumrah
Siraj
Shami

Jadeja is needed in Test cricket more than anyone else. But yeah, there is a chance that he may retire in Tests and play white ball and IPL only because he is selfish.

Neither the English or Indian batsmen have the patience to play a slow long innings, this is where Pakistan has a huge advantage over these teams especially on a flat batting track. On tracks like this Babar, Rizwan, Shaan will not leave the crease without a three figure score.
yes , watching a dull DRAW is so exciting

Pity they still got whitewashed on 3 absolute belters by England at home

256/1 & 19 overs left for the day - if 320 ahead EOD , would Rohit still bat for 50 overs tomorrow ?

Then why Pakistan lost all matches against England in Pakistan

Fair to say this game has slipped out of ENG's reach now.

ENG needs to come back strong in the next match and try and draw the series.

Because the front line bowlers were missing at various stages, and Afridi missed all the tests. England had the better attack throughout, no doubt. Also now Shaan is a far better test captain than Babar

with just 4 bowling options IND would need min 130 overs to take 10 wickets .

Hoping Jaiswal-Gill will do in the next decade or so similar to what Kohli-Rohit did for India between 2013-2020. Lots of similarities, both the players are from U19 batch only with 1 season difference like the case was with Kohli & Rohit. Both are good across all formats. Very promising days ahead for Indian cricket.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed his 3rd Test hundred in his career, displaying proper dominance throughout the innings by the youngster. He is miles ahead of Saim Ayub in talent and skills.

This day has gone bad in every way possible for England..

With India down to 10 players, they could have easily stamped their advantage but they did the exact opposite.

What a talent Jaiswal is, at only 22 he has made his mark on this series.

India is batting the Bazballers out of the game. It will be intriguing to observe whether England opts to play for a draw or continues pursuing the target.

So England still needs to win toss to win in India despite it being Kohli, Shami and Ashwin less India.

2nd test - Even Jadeja was missing but they still lost.

Are they capable to bat for draw? I know they can win tests against all odds but draw, not too sure.

Oh please no..

I'd much rather we have a good pool of 6-7 solid batters across formats like the Aussies did in the 2000s. No more of these superstar duos which only creates over dependence on them..

Australia also has duo's...Smith-Warner was their main duo across format in the past decade. The batting revolved around them.

Revolutionary captain Stokes and Bazball getting exposed unfortunately.

Jaiswal injured...that jumping celebration injured his back it seems

:facepalm

He probably hurt his back while celebrating his 100 a la Warner.

I want Rohit Sharma to become India's coach when he retires. Guy looks humble, animated and cares about Indian cricket unlike so called Kings. Rohit can work and gel very well with youngsters too.

I'm find something interesting , He is play more comfortable at 2nd innings rather than 1st.
Want to see his stats of both innings
Gill averages 26 and 41 in 1st and 2nd innings of tests respectively.

Shubman Gill still needs to work on that rooted back foot, which forces him to chase the ball with hard hands. Though it looks like he has worked on his front foot approach and found ways to score runs.

Patidar has shot himself in his foot. Luckily he has 2 more tests to go.

Patidar's career be like 'Yeh to Shuru hote hi Khatam ho gaya..'

:lol

Is jadeja already injured during this test match ??
Jaiswal injury
Ashwin out due to personal reasons so is Virat
KL injured
Iyer injured
Shami injured
Pant is already out of team due to excident
Jadeja miss 2nd test.
Probably best chance for visiting team to win a test series in india after more than a decade

This Patidar is 30+ and averages only 45 across 56 FC matches. Is he the best we've got?

Looking back, what a golden oppurtunity for the Eng boys to bury us with runs....
all they had to do was millk our guys - we had only 4 bowlers - no Ash....
am not sure what the equation is with Baz baall and guys like Root, Bairstow - but Surely Root need not play such diamond crazy shots like here and in the 2nd test, surely a legend like him needs to realize he can be the glue around with Baz ball can be played.
For Duckett - dude - what an amazing innings - one of the best along with pope by a visiting batsman on our shores...wow
For our guys - so proud of the way they came out firing....it would have been so easy to got into their shell, into a holding pattern, our guys looked them in the eye.....and cometh the hour - cometh kulli, siraj....i defo feel Kulli is one of most underated guys going around, like Holder, hasaranga etc - whenever he got the chance-he delivers....
for Rajat - i'd say what a total brain fade- soft dismisals in both innings, cant get any softer than these....
Jaizball - wonderfull innings - and with Gill is surely our future, throw in guys like Devdutt, Washi - we now have LH batting strenght that we so severly lacked.
On the match situation, i dont think we are on the victroy roads yet....
End of the day, we have 4 bowlers...and if guys like creepy or duck get stuck - it might be a tough two days ahead.
However, proud of the fire and fight our guys showed....but job half done- much more needed - go Indiaaaaaaa!

India 445 and 196/2 (Y Jaiswal 104 retired hurt, S Gill 65*), lead England (319) by 322 runs at Stumps

India 445 and 196/2 (Y Jaiswal 104 retired hurt, S Gill 65*), lead England (319) by 322 runs at Stumps
England are in a dire position in the third Test after a dramatic collapse and spectacular Yashasvi Jaiswal century on day three gave India complete control in Rajkot.

A breathtaking fightback on the second evening had seemingly handed England all the momentum when they resumed on 207-2 in response to India's 445.

But the tourists lost their last eight wickets for 95 runs to be bowled out for 319, an implosion that began when Joe Root's reverse scoop at the pace of Jasprit Bumrah was caught at second slip.

Jonny Bairstow was out fourth ball for a duck and Ben Duckett tamely patted a very wide delivery from Kuldeep Yadav to cover to fall for 153.

Captain Ben Stokes made 41 but then became the first in a final slide of 5-29 after lunch as England conceded a first-innings deficit of 126.

Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep conjured a beguiling spell and paceman Mohammad Siraj claimed 4-84 as India's bowlers put in a huge effort following the loss of Ravichandran Ashwin, who withdrew from the Test overnight because of a family emergency.

Jaiswal rammed home India's advantage with his second hundred in as many matches, adding an increasingly damaging 155 with Shubman Gill, who remains 65 not out.

England's bowlers were taken apart by India's free-scoring in the evening session before Jaiswal retired hurt with a back problem on 104.

By the end, the hosts had moved to 196-2, 322 ahead and primed to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

This was a golden opportunity for England. Even with Ashwin, India had been floored on the second evening and the tourists had a platform from which they could possibly fashion victory.

There were questions as to whether, given the circumstances, England would allow Ashwin to be replaced in the India XI. The playing conditions do not permit such a move, so England showed compassion and generosity with their batting.

It was a wreckage similar to England's self-destruction in the second Ashes Test at Lord's, when Australia were there for the taking after Nathan Lyon was injured. This was possibly a bigger waste and could even be England's worst day under Stokes' captaincy.

The spotlight with fall on Root and the nature of his dismissal. No doubt it was ugly and unnecessary, but he was certainly not the only England player guilty of a poor stroke.

England repeated their mistake from the second Test in Visakhapatnam, where a sloppy first innings left them too much to do in the second. They will be bullish about their eventual run chase, but comebacks are so much harder in India because of the way pitches deteriorate - this one is showing signs of sharp turn.

Presented with their sizable and unexpected lead, Jaiswal and Gill roasted England in the burning sunshine, and already Stokes' men face pulling off the highest pursuit by a visiting team in this country.

Bar some handy bowling in the first Test in Hyderabad, Root is enduring a tough tour. In five innings he has not made more than 29 and on the first morning of this Test dropped a crucial slip catch off Rohit Sharma.

The reverse scoop has become his trademark under Stokes' captaincy, yet in the circumstances this was a grave error of judgement. Jaiswal took a sharp catch to give Jasprit Bumrah his ninth dismissal of Root in Test cricket.

England never recovered. Bairstow played back to a sharp turner from Kuldeep and was bang in front. Duckett, architect of a stunning 133 not out on Friday, added 20 more runs but could have been caught twice and run out before he toe-ended one off Kuldeep that he could barely reach.

Stokes took his time before lunch, then could not resist a slog sweep at Ravindra Jadeja shortly after and was caught at long-on.

The lower-order was exposed. Ben Foakes patted Siraj to mid-on and Tom Hartley sprinted past Jadeja to be stumped.

Both Rehan Ahmed and James Anderson were victim to deadly Siraj yorkers. In all, England lost their last five wickets in just 38 deliveries.

In 4 Test inns so far, Rajat Patidar has been dismissed by Spinners only each time

By Rehan Ahmed in both innings in Vizag

By Tom Hartley in both innings in Rajkot

An Indian batsman who has played on Indian pitches for 10 years does not understand the world's greatest spinners.

This Indian team management is pulling out some shockers with alarming regularity. 30+ Rajat Patidar with an avg domestic record in place of Kohli is the latest. A much younger Sai Sudarshan might not have fared worse.

If i was Eng, I'd be more critical off the shot Stokes played - that was godawful as weell...

Rajat Patidar is selected to fail so that Kohli can come back without any questions asked.

Once Pant is back, India will again be an invincible side.

Jaiswal
Rohit
Gill
Kohli
Pant(wkt)
Jadeja
Rahul

Amazing top 7. Sarfaraz as backup option.
In Asia yes and w.indies.
Good for AUs too.

But for Sen? No.

Jadeja Rahul won't work well in SA and NZ. In England hard to say. If it's flat then maybe

Kohli will return whenever he wants. He is undroppable in Indian cricket. :virat
India will easily win the last two Tests, so no need for Kohli to waste his energy.
