The Centre for military history and perspective studies (CHPM) was founded in 1969 at the initiative of Colonel Daniel Reichel. It has been seated within the VerteRive estate, former residence of General Henri Guisan, since 1971. The CHPM is anindependent research centre that promotes studies dedicated to military history andmilitary thinking, and serves as a forum for international intellectual exchange, fostering a multi-disciplinary approach. It hosts enthusiasts and specialists who confrontideas and share information on their ongoing research. As the leading centre for thestudy of Res Militaris in French-speaking Switzerland, the CHPM supports the publication of books and offers its members regular lectures and activities, notably in theform of courses in military history, as well as training in strategic and security studies.It also conducts a programme that aims at using wargaming as a tool for learning andfor theoretical experimentation.

Joseph Henrotin is a political scientist and strategist who specialises in defence.He’s a research director at the Paris based think tanks Centre d'analyse et de prévision des risques internationaux (CAPRI) and Institut de stratégie et des conflits. Hiswork focuses primarily on strategic theory and on the evolution and integration oftechnologies in the military domain. Holder of a PhD in political sciences from theFree University of Brussels, Joseph Henrotin also teaches at the War College in Paris, the International War College in Yaoundé and the War College in Kinshasa. He’salso editor-in-chief of the Défense et Sécurité Internationale (DSI) journal.
Claude Meier is the chairman of the Centre d'Histoire et de Prospective Militaires(CHPM) in Pully. A retired Swiss Air Force major General, he served as a militarypilot, totalling over 4,000 flight hours on the Pilatus PC-7 and PC-9, Vampire (DH-100and DH-115), BAE Hawk Mk.66, F-5E/F Tiger II and F/A-18C/D Hornet. Chief of Staffof the Swiss Armed forces from 2016 to 2020, then General Officer at the Genevacentres dedicated to peace and security policy (GCSP, DCAF, GICHD)1, he alsoholds a Master's degree in historical methodology from the French École Pratiquedes Hautes Études, a diploma in higher military studies and a Higher Defense Studies Diploma from the War College (in Paris), and a Master of Advanced Studies inSecurity Policy and Crisis Management from the Swiss École polytechnique fédéralede Lausanne (EPFL).
Arthur Lusenti is a specialist in international affairs with a focus on security, defenceand armament policy issues. Holder of a certificate in social sciences and humanitiesfrom Sciences Po and a master’s degree in international Affairs from the Institut desHautes Études Internationales et du Développement (IHEID – Geneva Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies), he served as a Research & Project Officer at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), where he worked inparticular on Indian and Pakistani nuclear doctrines. He also serves on the ArmedForces General Staff.
