Outrage after Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan links rape to how women dress

Looking at the list, pretty clear that the levels are related to the levels of machismo which seems to pervade the cultures respectively.

Bangladesh has slipped 15 places compared to last year. Covid pandemic probably played a role in it. Happy to see my country progressing though.

Bangladesh is a model for Pakistan for follow. The manner in which Bangladesh has managed to lower its population growth, empowered its women and improved female literacy is remarkable!

That's the problem. That it is laughed out in Pakistan.

That’s what exactly I am saying if you misunderstood me and why I say comparing sexual harassment statistics from india or Pakistan with western countries is laughable.

Forget the whole ‘western women are more likely to report cases to the authorities than subcontinental women’ angle.

In a western country; a woman can file a case for being teased and inappropriately touched on the street and that will be registered as a sexual harassment crime. If you go with that incident to a police station in the subcontinent; you would be laughed out.

So it’s not just that women in the west are more likely to report which makes a comparison between our countries a joke; it’s other factors such as this. So Imran khans statistic comparison is laughable.

And in a very short time of less than 15 years. Truly a success story. Started with concentrating on female education and then empowering them to make their own financial decisions by making it easier to enter the work force. Educated women then took their the population growth factor. Within 1 generation.

Its welcome that IK clarified his views and it should have been done much earlier without any room for misinterpretation.

Firstly, I dont care what you losers think after you couldn't condemn the rape of our Women in Kashmir. Your opinion is worthless and that's why I generally ignore your nonsense.

As far as this is concerned Once again you are ill informed. Maybe you need to read my comments. You did this with the Taliban comments and had to run with your tail between your legs.
Quote me correctly or get lost.

This is what I said at the time.

" IK is wrong on this. I agreed with him on vulgarity in the media but this is wrong and it sends the wrong message and does him no favours"

Imran was being interviewed by an American journalist. He did not have the guts and the courage to express his true views on this subject.

We all know what he said in this interview is not what he truly believes. His real views are the ones that can be found on the first page of this thread.

Education and financial freedom are two things that has significantly improved the condition of Bangladeshi Women, which in turn has had a massive impact on the social and economic development of the country.

In all honesty, I get emotional whenever I get to visit the rural areas and see the amount of socio economic developments that has happened within last ten years. Population growth control, 100% sanitation, almost 100% supply of electricity and free education are some of the astounding things that have been achieved even in the most remote areas of the nation.

That's democracy for you. Deal with it.
