If anyone asks me I would say he is the best example of a person who wants to follow his believes and his dream of a very good athlete. However, if someone asks me how good of a player he is I won't let his beard cloud my opinion.
That's you but there are quite a few people here who rate him more as a cricketer due to religion. They openly admit it in many threads. When people like some one then then there is a tendency to even rate pathetic players. It's clear from many support thread for random players. And in this case, you have a great world class batsman so it's not too difficult to over rate him. You need only a small percentage of people going over board in a forum and you get the case of some one getting overrated.
He is a great player and I like him a lot due to being a very good person. Not denying that fact but I wasn't making a wild guess here. Btw, comment about you overrating him was in jest![]()

Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.
yes than whats the purpose of criticizing some posters for liking amla and linking it to religion?
just leave it to them whatever they think of him because as you said Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.
People admire/criticize Anderson on their cricketing ability, not on religion which is mostly the case with Amla.
he is loved for more than just cricket.
I don't have a problem with anyone loving the way he plays the game, defending soley on religious grounds is something I disagree with.
Btw, the mods have banned religious discussions regarding Amla in case you don't know.
If the opinion is INFLUENCED by things other than cricket, than its not justified.I dont think they like Amla just because of his religion and his cricket achievements are enough to like him but whatever way they like him Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.
thats good now at least in indian series some people will not be able to link his fan comments with religion
If the opinion is INFLUENCED by things other than cricket, than its not justified.
but than some people like some players because of aggressive attitude and i am not talking about on field aggressive attitude with bat or ball so how to justify that?
What sort of aggression and where have they seen it?
If you are speaking of sledging, then its clearly a part of cricket.
Some players like the aggressive persona of players like Steyn, I don't mind but I don't agree with insulting and using abusive languages.
No one is more overrated than Virat Hafeez Kohli.
Duminy is overrated and Hafeez is underrated.
I feel he's an excellent LOIs allrounder who has made more contribution and won more matches in 4 years than Afridi has in 18 but doesn't get due respect.
Nobody is claiming that he's world class or anything.

Let's go back to the 2nd Test of SL vs Eng 2014. On the end of day 4, Eng were 50-5 and Ali was just in. It looked like it was all a matter of when Eng would get bowled out on Day 5. The next day, Moeen went on to get 108 not out and took it to the penultimate ball of the day. The 2nd last ball of the DAY. He put England in a match saving situation before Anderson gave it up.
Also, Moeen's a very decent bowler. Someone who bowls line and length majority of the time will get wickets. He was rewarded against India.
At my cricket club, there are a handful of Indians who think Dhoni is a good Test bat
my question was who underrated moen...people on the forum are already hailing him as the next big thing...he should be in the overrated category

You mean in tests right?
He is a bit overrated in tests.
He is just overrated overall.
Yes.
Shehzad is a better player with average of 38.
Kohli is overrated averaging 50 plus in ODI.
You make so much sense.
And before you say flat tracks, which other batsmen in flat tracks are rated 50 plus in ODI?
This guys like a clone of Mamoon, where did Shehzad come from?
Well because the guy feels that Shehzad is a better batsmen than Kohli.
He said it a while back.
Over rated: Inzimam, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Umar Gul, Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad
Under rated: Salim Malik, Azhar Mahmood, Younis Khan, Raza Hassan, Umar Akmal
