Plz google the words immigrant and diplomat. Also its better to learn about Pakistans civil service, who pays etc. And we never got posted during ppp govt.

Its the Indian identity he's talking about. Pakistan doesnt have a separate identity on ethnic basis.
Again, there is areason why i told you to plz google Pakistan civil service. The civil service are beurocrates that are selected from examination in the country. Their political affiliation does not matter as they are required to work under any govt, they are directly dealt with by their ministry.

Its clear as day. You still supporrt corrupt people, you worked for them and will again. Indian identiy is not Pakistani identity, majority of them are Hindus , majority of Pakistanis are Muslims. This is just one of many differences.
I know of many inc in my own family. Unless you have travelled to every corner of Pakistan and spoke to everyone , its idiotic to say noone has moved back.

I considered it during the lockdown but logistically it was difficult.
The proof is in the pudding, nobody would leave western countries to go back to Asian countries unless the conditions were perfect.
But I have learned not be too critical of Pakistanis while I live in relative comfort. The false patriotism many exhibit for Pakistan without having to navigate its complexities on a day to day basis is nauseating at times. Especially when it comes to topics like governance, remittance and "investment".
I agree with Major on this, despite his choice of political party.

Maybe for people like you. Dont say "our". Majority of Pakistanis don't think of our identity as Indian. Today Indian identity refers to Republic of India a Hindu majority country. Forget Pakistan no one in any other South Asian country refers to their identity as Indian. People like you are why liberals are politically dead in Pakistan. You could easily say South Asian, or subcontinent but you say Indian knowing full well for people in Pakistan "Indian" is synonymous with Hindu. Whether you like it or not Pakistani identity for majority of Pakistanis is rooted in the Muslim culture of subcontinent and not Hindu culture of subcontinent.
It doesnt matter what majority think when its a fact. Indian is an identity not an another word for a hindu.

Many of the overseas who are doing rona dhona to not send a penny back home or to visit. Many of them are already happy abroad and dont even wanna return back.

It's a different identity. And for facts, again going to refer you to your party's (PPP) leadership on this topic. Please read 'The Indus saga and the making of Pakistan' a book authored by Aitzaz Ahsan. It goes into detail on how the Pakistani and Indian identities are different. One of the key differences - Lottaism is much more common in the Pakistani identity. It's inbred in the culture because historically the people of the Indus plane had to balance living in between the then super powers of the east and west. They used to play both sides to survive. Maybe that's why Pakistanis don't think of switching parties as a big deal. As evident by the banana court not taking a Suo Moto on horse trading

It will be interesting if roles were reversed i.e. expectations and achievements from overseas Pakistanis in relation to global view. Any unicorn company owned by overseas Pakistanis? Any major firm CEOs who are overseas Pakistanis? Any major art, science, blockchain or smart technology leaps/initiatives by overseas Pakistanis that are renowned around the world? One of the reasons why India has leapfrogged Pakistan is due to its overseas citizens creating giant strides in STEM in the West and contributes positively to India's soft diplomacy. Overseas diaspora is also a major source of trade and investment in the host country, as how it is with India. What are the major trades/investments that have originated from the overseas Pakistani diaspora?
Overseas Pakistanis need to come out of the bhangras when Pakistan plays at Headingley or Birmingham, or chest-thump on remittances because in both these aspects, it is either skill level showed by local Pakistan players, or it is the hard-working unskilled individuals who are at the forefront. The average middle-class, educated overseas Pakistani is also lagging behind the world, and therefore demanding how locals in Pakistan should live, ad be governed etc is cute more than anything else.

Our diaspora cant even out perform Indias.....
Whats even more shameful is that our diaspora is thinking of ways to stop money flowing into pakistan and hoping pakistan suffers from hyper inflation.
They only have the remitances and doing bhangra at cricket grounds to cheer about

A well written post however your expectations from overseas Pakistanis are unrealistic as you're comparing apples to oranges when comparing the two diasporas.
International level CEOs like Sundar Pichai, Krishna (IBM I think), Parag Agarwal were educated in India. India has the best IT universities in the world! Guess what, most of them were built when the Shariffs and Zardaris were busy looting Pakistan. If those two parties actually did something for the country, then you can have the same expectations from the two diasporas. You reap what you sow.
Also India has always maintained a sovereign foreign policy which earns them respect in the west. Due to their strong diplomatic missions, it's alot easier for Indians to get routine things done such as educational accreditation. Pakistanis don't have that luxury because our governments have been working to fill their own pockets rather than work for the people. It's just now in the Imran Khan era that overseas Pakistanis are getting some respect from their adopted countries because he had the whip on diplomatic missions and always bring up welfare of migrant workers especially when visiting the gulf states.
This is why he has overwhelming support of overseas Pakistanis.

As an overseas Pakistani I would like to nominate this as POTW.
And to add, the first overseas Pakistani to enter pak politics was choudry Sarwar. He built his wealth and political career on selling sharab in the UK, but Imy made him governor of a state based on Riasat e Madina.
He turned out to be the biggest lota of them all!

A country can have minorities right? Israel is a Jewish state no? But their are Israeli Muslims, Israeli Christians.
Same way Pakistan is a Muslim country. However we also have Pakistani Hindus, Pakistani Christians, etc.
In Israel every symbol of the state reflects Jewish History of Israel/Palestine. In Pakistan the symbols of the state reflect the Muslim history of the subcontinent. And in India the the symbols of the state reflect the Hindu history of the subcontinent.
Look at the flag, anthem, motto, etc of Pakistan and India, Israel and Palestine. You can see right their. However if its still not clear you can read this article

Of course it is. People of Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, etc would prefer the term South Asia for their region than "Indian".
What's your takleef with South Asian, subcontinent, heck even desi? Like I said for us Pakistanis its that we see Indian as referring to the Republic of India a Hindu majority country. However I will say this, if the day ever comes that Indian Muslims are the majority in India, you liberals can merge Pakistan with India. We would have no problem then with Indian identity.

Remittances are not sent by local Pakistanis, they are sent by Overseas Pakistanis. A doctor born and bred in Pakistan living in Dubai and sending remittances to Pakistan is considered an Overseas Pakistani.
Also the majority of Overseas Pakistanis live in the gulf Arab countries and the country would be bankrupt without the remittances they send. You can check out how much Pakistan imports and exports, and see what the gap would be without remittances.
The overseas Pakistanis in the Arab countries are not given citizenship. They will have to go back to Pakistan one day. Of course they should have a say in how Pakistan is run. You don't want Pakistanis in UK, US, other western countries to have a say in Pakistan fine, but the ones in the Middle East should.
Overseas Pakistanis whether in Saudi, US, UK, etc overwhelming support PTI. That is the problem that people have. That can effect the election

He gave up his British citizenship in 2013. So he is a not a dual national anymore. IK made a mistake by making him governor, however he surely cant be considered an overseas Pakistani anymore.
Its one thing if dual nationals don't have the right to vote in elections, but its a completely different matter if people with only Pakistani citizenship living abroad don't have the right to vote.

He gave it up because his position as governor was secured.
Anyway, the point is that if these are the antics of overseas pakistanis claiming to help Pakistan then its no wonder that they are sick of us interfering.

If no Pakistani went overseas for jobs Pakistan will be bankrupt. At minimum the ones who have only Pakistani citizenship should be allowed to vote. Which PDM will get rid of.
Also what about all those Pakistanis living in Pakistan who have dual citizenship? Pakistan should adopt the Indian policy of no dual citizenship.
