PAF F-16 crashes in Islamabad during March 23 parade rehearsal, pilot martyred

A massive blow for PAF.

He was considered to be the most accomplished pilot in PAF, notwithstanding the loss of an F-16.

About time we reconsider risking our pilots, fighter jets and wasting crores of rupees on useless air shows and showbaazi.

It has only been two weeks since we risked our pilots, jets and wasted crores on Feb 27, and now we are all set to do the same on March 23.

Losing a highly competent pilot and an F-16 is a big enough loss, but to lose them for nothing during the rehearsal of an air show only makes it worse.

He did not join the PAF, work hard and win awards only to die during an air show rehearsal.

Just go to know that this is actually the third crash this year during training exercises. There were 2 pilot deaths in January.
either there is fault in machines or pilots who are not fully trained Manning these jets

May Allah SWT award him the status of martyr.

We don't need airshows, our economy cannot afford this luxury plus it's only the elites that get to see it at the march. The general public cannot even get clearance to witness it. A total waste of money.

Though i agree with the basic point of wasting money on showbazi, i dont get your complain abt this incident. Couldn’t this have happened anywhere, any time during any other routine flight?

I saw the video of plane crash and it looks like a technical fault/malfunction, so the question is are F16 now a bit past their ‘use by’ date and shouldn’t we be retiring them.

These pilots don't eject from the plane because they try their level best to steer the plane to uninhabited areas to not cause loss to civilian life. Imagine being in a plane, knowing that there's a way out, but you put the collective good as priority instead of your own life.

Proper heroes.

May you be rewarded with the highest place in Jannat-ul-firdaus and may we meet again in Jannah. Ameen.

Read somewhere that he could have ejected and saved his life but he was trying to take away plane from populated area so thats why he couldnt eject.

May Allah grant him with highest rewards in Jannah.

May god bless his soul !

But sad to hear that a pilot got martyred in unfortunate way. But F-16s are regarded as safest ones.

In India we use russian maal and we know how much quality they have ! Many pilots due to these rubbish russian stuff, in fact Migs are called a flying coffins.

the last 2 crashes were T-37 trainer jet, not F-16 ....

Can’t believe PAF lost one of their best because of some 23rd March drama. What a waste...

Losing one of your ace pilots due to a stupid 23rd March parade is incredibly sad. May Allah grant WC Noman Akram the highest muqaam in Jannah. I think this year's air display should be called off in his honour.

Absolutely ridiculous. For a trained pilot, flying for a demonstration should be nothing more than a formality. Accidents happen, but if flights like this are so unsafe, we should be having a few thousand plane crashes an year on commercial flights.

initial details-

it's becoming apparent that the aircraft malfunctioned right above Aabpara Market and the pilot steered it away from built up area,
he gave his Life To Protect Many Civilian Lives & Also The Important Buildings. He saved Pak - China Friendship Center, Aabpara Market, Serena Hotel & Took The Aircraft To Unpopulated Spot In Shakarparian. After Insuring The Safety of Above Mentioned Prospects He Didn't Have Enough Time To Eject May Allah Bless Him With Highest Level of Paradise.

Bad place for training such stunts, will there be any investigation highly likely NOT

I always oppose this type of show. You have nothing to gain (other than boosting egos) and everything to lose.

we have some special kind of neighbors .... just read the comments if you are a cool headed person.

Indians have to be the dumbest most ignorant people on earth. No wonder they elected chaiwala not once but twice. They still can't get over the humiliation they got last Feb.

Bit of an unnecessary comment,this.
True airshows are bit of a waste but you can hardly blame them for the crash. This could easily have occurred in a routine training flight considering that these F16s are getting old, much like the Mirages.

Exactly. True heroes

Fighter pilots have extraordinary nerves and display unparalleled composure even in the face of death.

All the years of training ensure that they complete lose the fear of death.

Fighter pilots are the greatest assets of any armed forces and they deserve the greatest provisions.

It takes immense investment to produce a fighter pilot and also huge commitment from the pilot itself. It takes a lot of cojones to have the desire to become one.

Looking at the CCTV footage, it appears that he was almost trying to land the jet on a field. Not only was he trying to save the people on the ground, it seems that he also tried till the last moment (and thus lost his life) to save the F-16 as well.

My heart goes out to the family of the deceased -

Watching videos etc of the last moments of their loved one cannot be easy - wish our social media etc would stop sharing them

What a wonderfully brave man. To think he could have saved himself but prioritized others.
May Allah give him the highest rank in Jannah.
Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon.

I can not imagine what his family, wife and kids especially must be going through. May Allah give them all sabr un jamil.
