I think we might be seeing even fewer indo-pak games, especially group stage games in ICC events. Asia cup will also get sabotaged now... Things are going from bad to worse.

This is what exactly you wanted when Indian refused to go for Pakistan to play champion trophy.

Pakistan fans were saying why India - Pakistan are always placed in a same group in any ICC events .

Mubaraka your wish about to granted.

Yeah sure... We all know why they are placed in the same group....MONEY MONEY MONEY... INDO-PAK games are the breadwinners for the ICC.

This guy does not miss a single chance.

No one cares about this guy. Why even post his takes of an unreliable narrator the cheat himself?

We can joke about the stance but let's be honest if it is causes Indian heartache to play against Pakistan and it's not longer enjoyable then it makes sense for them not to play.

Hopefully the time comes when both countries are ready to play cricket without the emotional trauma for our neighbours.

It's a shame to see the damage it's done to innocent people. The PSL production staff did nothing wrong, they just happen to be Indian.

Have these good people suddenly changed and now need to be deported? It's just point scoring but these guys will have lost their livelihoods.

We share many great memories and emotions with our Indian neighbours. Some good, some bad but that's sport. I don't think our next generations will feel any of the ties we felt. Yes the Indians will claim they can have the same experience with Australians but it won't be the same humour, language and cultural experiences that made our bonds so great.

Walls will now be put up. Not just in cricket but across all walks of life. I don't see them coming down in our lifetimes.

These guys are blind nationalists. One Indian poster was even defending Indian call center scammers. ROFL. :yk

Beautiful game of cricket has been ruined by India. It is a tragedy. :inti

We should be glad then that Bangladesh is ever present to lighten the atmosphere through comic relief.

BCCI's sweeping step after Pahalgam attack, writes to ICC over Pakistan matches; Asia Cup decision put on hold: Report

In the wake of the deadly terror attack in south Kashmir's Pahalgam, where 26 civilians lost their lives on Tuesday, there have been rumours that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took a sweeping step by writing a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC), urging them to no longer club India and Pakistan together in the same group for ICC tournaments.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, BCCI no longer wishes for an India-Pakistan face-off, at least in the group stages of an ICC event. However, the next big ICC tournament is in September, with India hosting the Women's ODI World Cup. Pakistan qualified for the eight-team tournament, where each team will play against all other participants in a round-robin format. As per the pre-decided arrangement, Pakistan will not be playing any of their matches in India, with the host nation yet to zero in on the neutral venue.

Earlier, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that the board would follow whatever the Indian government decided, but the report also added that a top BCCI official told the website that such a development was news to him.

What about the Asia Cup?

Regarding men's cricket, the next ICC tournament is in 2026, with the T20 World Cup being hosted in India and Sri Lanka between February and March. However, the immediate concern for the BCCI is the Asia Cup, which will be held in September with India as the host. Although Cricbuzz had earlier reported that the tournament would be entirely played at a neutral venue, with Dubai and Sri Lanka as likely venues,

The fresh report on the website, however, highlighted: "The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has sold the media rights for the Asia Cup - valued at $170 million for four editions - based on an unofficial understanding that each edition will feature at least two India-Pakistan matches, with the possibility of a third if the teams meet in the final. The media rights deal is middle-heavy than front-or back-loaded, which means the 2025 edition would cost around $ 38 million, instead of the average value of $ 42.5 million."

In the previous edition of the continental tournament, held in 2023, India and Pakistan faced each other twice—once in the group stage and once in the Super Four. The second match was washed out as Pakistan failed to make the final. India won the tournament, beating Sri Lanka in the final.

The report concluded that while the Asia Cup draw was expected to be out in May, the Asian Cricket Council might take time to ponder its options, both for the draw and the venue. "The general impression is that any final decision will hinge on the escalation or de-escalation of prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan," it added.

Hindustan Times

Asia cup should be cancelled. There is too much bad blood in Asia at the moment. Afghans and Indians are against Pakistan. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are against India.

The region is on tenterhooks. I fear that if there is even one Nagin dance between Lankans and Bangladesh then all out continental war will break out. We must not take that risk.

Time has come when India will now face Pakistan only by accident and not by design in ICC/ACC Tournaments.

And to be honest, the hype for the yearly Indo-Pak ICC event game is now pretty much gone and the recent Champions Trophy match was the indication for it. Pakistan's weak and meek cricket team is not helping draw any interest from the Indian market these days and we'll finally see the two teams being placed in different groups.

BCCI denies reports of requesting ICC not to put India and Pakistan in same group for upcoming events- Report

There are the men's Asia Cup and ICC Women's World Cup events where India and Pakistan will clash.

Since the Pahalgam attacks, there has been widespread conjecture that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC), demanding that India and Pakistan not be placed in the same group for future global events. As with many similar things, there are facts and alternate facts.

For the record, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has previously stated that the Board will accept the government's advice in this situation. A senior BCCI official also informed Cricbuzz that such a situation is new to him. The BCCI authorities are sensitive to the current public mood, but there is no validity to the supposition.

There is no immediate men’s ICC event scheduled, and the earliest ICC event is the Women’s World Cup 2025, which will be played in India in September-October. Pakistan has qualified for it and the eight-team tournament is held in an all-play-all round-robin format, with no groupings involved.

According to the pre-tournament agreement, Pakistan's matches would be played in a neutral location. As the chosen host, the BCCI will need to choose a location, but there is still time before a final selection is made. Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, in addition to India and Pakistan, make up the eight teams.

However, before the ODI Women's World Cup, there is the men's Asia Cup, which will be hosted by the BCCI. As first reported by Cricbuzz, it has been determined that it will be hosted in a neutral country, with September as the designated date.

The question of Dubai or Sri Lanka hosting the event is secondary, but the main question is the financial aspect of the tournament and whether India and Pakistan are put in the same group.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has sold the broadcast rights to the Asia Cup, valued at $170 million for four years, on the tacit understanding that each edition will have at least two India-Pakistan matches, with the chance of a third if the teams meet in the final. The media rights deal is middle-heavy rather than front- or back-loaded, thus the 2025 edition will cost roughly $ 38 million, as opposed to the average value of $42.5 million.

The last Asia Cup 2023 was held in hybrid model as Pakistan were the hosts. India played all of their games in Sri Lanka, including the final, that they won. India and Pakistan faced off twice - once in the league stage and again in the Super Four.

The 2018 edition's venue has yet to be revealed, however Cricbuzz understands that the draw was originally scheduled for May. However, with enough time left, it may now be postponed. The widespread sense is that any final decision will be based on the escalation or de-escalation of current tensions between India and Pakistan.

(Cricbuzz report)

The broadcasters would be mighty annoyed if this were to happen.
The broadcasters are all Indian. While I am sure they won’t be happy with taking a financial loss, don’t think they will complaint openly. Making a hue and cry about Ind-Pak matches will affect their brand value.

It is what it is. World will move on just like we are used to not seeing Pak players in IPL.

So no more India vs Pakistan games in world cups for the foreseeable future ig.

My guess is it'll be rigged to the point that India and Pakistan can only meet in finals. Bcci will demand to ensure that they don't meet in semi finals either.

It is abhorrent to dehumanise people, doesn’t matter who’s doing it.

But posters with a track record of racism (like the ones who’ve just posted above me) have no moral ground at all.

India Pakistan relations are down the tube and will keep heading that way. Cricket relations will further deteriorate.

I think it’s a pity - on the Indian side we have boastful, arrogant leadership while Pakistan has a weakling for a Prime Minister and a self serving, cunning upstart for a chief of army staff.

Cricker turned into a farce. :inti

I miss cricket from pre-BCCICC days.

Very sad to see you refer to human beings killed in an attack as trees. Reality of Indians is being exposed day by day.
Here your country men come to a foreign country...ask people religion and kill unarmed civilians .and you get your panty twisted for calling them trees...how come you don't think of dehumanization and insaniyaat before telling your cannon fodder thugs that kill innocents in the name of Allah the merciful..

Those terrorists from IOK didn't ask my permission so there was no way of me telling them anything brother.

Regardless of your rant, I would never consider a dead human being as "trees".

The maximum that will happen is that the Asia Cup will get cancelled/postponed.

Meddling with the ICC matches is more of a "I have to see it to believe it" scenario. It's possible but highly unlikely considering how the BCCI navigates these situations.

They are well aware that the next ICC tournament is a year away and things will simmer down by then.

Did Pakistan ever break ties altogether when India interferes in Balochistan, violates LOC rules, and fires at the general population of Azad Kashmir???

PCB gains nothing from severing ties with the BCCI, while the BCCI loses nothing by severing ties with the PCB.

For these terrorists, lives of non muslims are expendable. Madrasas brainwash these people into believing that only the muslims are humans.

Same goes for the goons that were attacking Kashmiri students in Dehli a day or two ago. Millions of brainwashed on both sides.

Terrorists have no religion. Just because people call themselves Muslim, does not mean they are Muslim. they have to behave and follow the rules of Islam to be a true Muslim. Killing any human being for no reason is greatest of the sins in ISLAM.

These terrorists do not care whether you are a Muslim or a hindu.. Lots of Muslims died in Pakistan due to suicide attacks in recent years.

Pakistan Star's Startling Remark On Playing World Cup In India After Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: "We Are Not..."

After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, that killed 26 civilians on April 22, reactions have been strong from all quarters. Terrorists from a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot opened fire on a group of unsuspecting tourists in the scenic meadows of Baisaran in Pahalgam, resulting in one of the worst face-offs with Pakistan. The effect of the incident is being felt on the cricket field too.

There have been speculation that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) might write to the ICC, so that India and Pakistan are not clubbed in the same group in future global events (like World Cup and the Champions Trophy). A report in Cricbuzz, however, countered the claim.

No major men's ICC event is scheduled this year. The 2025 Women's ODI World Cup will be played in India in September-October. Pakistan have qualified for the mega event and as per earlier agreements, it will play its games at a neutral venue. In the midst of this, Pakistan women's cricket team opener Gull Feroza, who was part of the side that played in the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier, has made a startling remark.

"We know this much that we will play in Asian conditions and we are not playing in India. This is clear. Neither are we interested in playing in India,” she told PakPassion.

"So, wherever it is played - hopefully in Sri Lanka or Dubai - those conditions are similar to the ones you get in Asia. The Qualifiers were at home, and the staff prepared tracks accordingly. Wherever the World Cup games are played, the conditions will be similar to those we have at home. So, our preparation will be according to that, and we are ready for that."

I've been calling for severing ties for a long time. I firmly believe India and Pakistan should play in different groups and Bcci should do everything in its power to ensure Pakistan and India can only meet in a final. Such as CT final, T20 final, or wtc final.

Not because I'm scared of facing India. India demolishes Pakistan in any format, we all know that, but primarily because I'm scared for the people in both countries.

A cricket match between the 2 sides means that spectators themselves could possibly get hurt.

Gul Feroza while speaking to PakPassion:

"We are aware that the conditions will likely be Asian ones. It's clear that we won't be playing in India, and we don't want to either. Hopefully, it will be held in Sri Lanka or Dubai, where the conditions are almost similar to Asian conditions.

"We have already played World Cup qualifiers at home, and our staff prepared us accordingly. Whatever the conditions may be, they are almost identical to those in our country. We hope that the staff will provide us with the necessary preparation based on those conditions as well, and we are ready for that."

Just when we were beginning to assemble a modern day T20 lineup:afridi. This will make Pakistan vs India knockout encounters even more exciting.
Current India T20 team is beat team in the World by some distance. Pakistan has no chance against india :kp

If we have a bad day and they have a good day, of course they have a chance. It's T20 cricket.

We had a strong team in the 2021 T20 World Cup too with Rohit, Kohli, KL Rahul, SKY, Pant, Jadeja, Pandya, Bumrah, Shami etc. and lost by 10 wickets to them.

Indian broadcast crew for PSL 10 repatriated from Pakistan
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, 23 Indian nationals working as part of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 broadcast crew have been repatriated to India, ARY News reported quoting police.

According to police spokesperson, the group was escorted to the Wagah border crossing in Lahore and sent back to India, following directives from the Pakistani government.

The decision to expel the Indian crew comes in the wake of an attack in Pahalgam, Indian- Illegally Occupied Kashmir, which killed 26 tourists.

It is pertinent to mention here that India’s foreign ministry on Wednesday announced that the Attari and Wagah borders will be closed. Pakistani nationals will no longer be able to travel to India under the SAARC visa exemption.

In response, Pakistan decided that it will close down the Wagah Border Post, with immediate effect. All cross-border transit from India through this route shall be suspended, without exception. Those who have crossed with valid endorsements may return through that route immediately but not later than 30 April 2025.

Pakistan suspends all visas under SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) issued to Indian nationals and deems them cancelled with immediate effect, with the exception of Sikh religious pilgrims. Indian nationals currently in Pakistan under SVES are instructed to exit within 48 hours, less Sikh pilgrims.

The National Security Committed said India should refrain from its reflexive blame game and cynical staged managed exploitation of incidents like Pahalgam to further its narrow political agenda. Such tactics serve only to inflame tensions and obstruct the path to peace and stability in the region.

It said that extremely irresponsible warmongering Indian state controlled media, fueling volatility in the regional calculus is reprehensive, which requires serious introspection.

I agree. I don't believe Islam or any other religion preaches violence. But I heard the Madrasas do.

The invaders from central Asia and middle east used violence for wealth accumulation and power. Along with it, they spread the religion, islam in this case.
(i) Perhaps this created an illusion that the islam preached violence.
(ii) It also a became model for these madrasas to teach these young men to act violently in the name of religion.

In an interview with a local TV channel, Shahid Afridi opened up on going Indo-Pak tension. He said:

“It is deeply regrettable that India has once again resorted to blame-shifting without any evidence. Such actions only escalate tensions and impede the peace efforts in the region,”

“The only way forward is through dialogue. Violence and blame games will only aggravate the situation. Sports, particularly cricket, should be all free from political interference”.

Can’t wait for Lala to become a politician!

According to reports - BCCI is set to instruct the ICC not to place India and Pakistan in the same group in any future ICC events.

But what about knockout stages , I mean final as semifinals can be manageable.

Ohh wait looking at Pakistan cricket team they are not going to reach in any ICC tournament final at least for next 5 year's.

:kp
So no free points for India? Isse to apna hi nuksan hua😁

Lol...India will get exposed now...no Pakistan no easy party now as any other team will do better than Pakistan on doctored pitches.
We defeated evey team's in The last two ICC tournament. Pakistan was knocked out from group stages in both of them. Lol 😂🤣 :kp

India plays one game against Pak, it’s not like PCT miraculously reaches second stage of tournaments that India gets to face them again.(Some minnow knocks them out).

Dallas pitch wasn’t even doctored and yet you guys lost to Indian software engineers.

They indeed played better than India against Pakistan

This will likely have big consequences WRT ICC "handouts".

If there are no Ind-Pak games in ICC events, the broadcasters will want to re-negotiate their contracts in some form. Which means less $$ coming into ICC coffers. Which means less $$ to distribute among boards.

Will impact majority of the boards. In fact everyone outside of BCCI, CA, ECB.

When money is involved, India won't let the dead bodies at home stop them. They'll pick a neutral venue do some chest thumping to appease and calm the public but

"the show must go on"

I am done with Indian Cricket team and following them.. and BCCI as well.
No more cricket for me. Because I know what will happen.. It will be few days of mourning, and then few days of all talk and no action. Then there will be lovey dovey videos with Pakistan players during the Asia Cup or World cup.. and then talk of "ham saare eko i hain ji"...
Done with all these nonsense. The image of the young lady with her husbands dead body is still haunting me.
They actually turned out to be alive no need to have haunty nights now

No. What's the point of watching any sport? The joy of supporting BCCI is finished for me. They are too corporate and money minded it seems to milk money off Pakistan. To hell with them and Indian Cricket Team.

Why it's a new revelation to you? They are a sporting body and their job is to improve sporting infrastructure and spread the sport and it can only be done by being financially profitable.

India's economic liberalization and Sachin's meteoric rise happened at same time. A remarkable concurrence which filled BCCI's coffers. On top of that, you had Jagmohan Dalmiya who with other Asian Cricket councils made BCCI what it is today. BCCI still managed to work with PCB in-spite of 10 times higher terrorism in 90s. Jagmohan publicly supported likes of Shoaib Akhtar.

Now both countries have regressed so much, you have BJP and it's andhbhakts who went so far right that they make Thackeray and his goons look like centrist.

I like BCCI's stance, avoid playing Pakistan under garb of no allowance from Indian government but staying away from adding to hatred politics.
