Pakistan (134) fall short as Australia (147/9) win the second T20I by 13 runs taking unassailable 2-0 lead with 1 game remaining

Rizwan for obvious reasons.

Farhan for being one of the worst batsmen to ever represent Pakistan.

Usman and Abbas for taking unnecessary risks against Spencer Johnson in his last over when they really should have seen him off

Would add Shaheen and Naseem too. Both needs to be gone from the team along with Rizwan, Salman and Babar.
 
It is okay, guys, just a game of T20, with many new players and overall poor squad selection by Aaqib. Hopefully, the squad selection will improve, and Pakistan will become a stronger team as these new players gain experience and settle in. Rizwan’s captaincy has already given us a lot of hope, and InshaAllah, our T20 team will get better over time. Fakhar and Saim will be back as well. While Rizwan and Babar are struggling for form, they will come around eventually.
 
Cant win when you have Rizwan and Babar opening.

And your superstar bowler opening combo gives away 50 runs in 3 overs.

People can close their eyes and have butterflies in their stomach for their cover drives or stops or their inswining yorkers, but bottom line is this combo needs to end for Pakistan to win games.

Lower order played its heart out.

But we were 40 runs in 10 overs.

Even ODI cricket is faster.

Back to drawing board.

Rizwan needs to be binned from t20. Enough of him. He can take his vs Salman too who's awful for t20s. People will probably laugh but I would personally want shadab as the t20 captain.

Yes Usman was selfish.

Irfan was selfish.

But Riz the captain with his 16 off 25 balls played a selfless innings.

A true love of the game innings that.

I will watch highlights tonight of how Riz batted as opener to guide his team to 40 runs off 10 overs.
 
Play youngsters in this format and you might find a player or two. Absolutely no point seeing Shaheen getting smashed for 20 odd or babar dropping catches. The young uns showed more fight.
Play Jahandad and others in the last game atleast and give the young guys a chance in the Zimbabwe series.
 
Surprised that Pakistan couldn't win this one, thought they had it in the bag. Watching these Australian, Pakistani and Indian players, there is no talent in the world anymore.
 
Rizwan is allergic to giving youngsters a go. Our t20 team will only improve once we get rid of the likes of Shaheen, Babar, Naseem and Rizwan. The like of farhan should never be picked. Omair is 10 times the player farhan is.

"If you drop crucial catches at crucial times, it will cost you always. Australia in Australia isn't an easy team. If you give them chances like that and you have to get 16 wickets (due to the drops), it won't be easy for any team. We all know that the pitch wasn't easy to bat on, so the catches were crucial."

True about the pitch but Pak are pathetic batting side, Indian is much stronger.

"We started really well. Boys at the top got us to a flier. It was tough through the middle as they adapted and bowled cutters. There's so many options in this team I can go to. Everytime I turned to Johnson tonight, he got a pole. The way they played tonight was really good. Put their bowlers under pressure and got us off to a flier. I need to sleep - it's tough work this captaincy. That drop catch - I was thinking more of the captaincy than the keeping. It's something I'm keen to learn about and hopefully grow."

Rizwan and Babar have been key performers for Pakistan in the T20 format for a long time, yet many failed to give them the credit they deserved during their best years. Now, both of them are going through a rough patch, which is something that can happen to any player. I have a clear understanding of where our team stands and the kind of depth we have in the squad. Babar and Rizwan are crucial to our success, and we need them to get back to their best form to help lift the team.

Today, Australia posted a low total, and while we couldn’t get over the line, it’s clear that it's not just about one or two players. The whole team needs to step up to turn things around. Moving forward, we need to stay patient, make the right squad selections, and ensure the setup is free from corruption. Only then we will create the right environment for success. I am okay with players like Rizwan, Babar and even Agha. and the less we talk about Shadab the better.

Ironically India chased 197 at the SCG successfully and got to 200 in 2016. Watson made 124. But India colelctively hunted down. And in 2020 they made 195 at the SCG chasing 194. SCG is generally good for subcontinent teams.
 
Pakistan lower order doesnt click when its a run a ball. When there is no pressure they make useful cameo but not in future. Abbas shown promise n last t20 but when he is up the order started looking mediocre same with Shaheen.
 
I hope better senses prevail.
