Pakistan (134) fall short as Australia (147/9) win the second T20I by 13 runs taking unassailable 2-0 lead with 1 game remaining

Surely a below par total but let's see how our weak looking batting lineup fares on a pitch that's not quite the paradise it seemed after the first 3 overs.

Bowling delivered again after a poor start.

3 Things I haven't liked about this series and 3 things I have

What I disliked

A) Aus batting wise was a dissapointment and fielding wise in odi series were below mediocre

B) Umpires were hella biased towards Australia when giving wides.

C) Shaheen and Naseem were by far the worst bowlers and pakistan fielding wise were hilarious especially Agha and Babar.

What I liked

A) Rizzu is a massive improvement over bobby as captain. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't like rizzu. However he's been a breathe of fresh air over babar who was utter atrocious. Plus I like how he holds back drs reviews and only takes them when needed over bobby

B) Rauf Younis has been been killing it in Australia.

C) Saim finding rhythm and fans changing their viewpoints on them.

wow -- praise for Riz
you feeling ok?

Australia need to make a decision when it comes to playing Rauf.

Just play out his 4 overs for 10 runs if you must. Stop giving him free wickets

Don't have to be so one minded. Brainless bowler has been Shaheen and Naseem, Rauf has bowled exceptionally well. Give credit where it's due.
Naseem is poor and I have been saying it since day 1. He has always been all hype and no substance.

I don’t have time for bowlers and characters like Rauf. Sorry.

Btw this is the difference between a 7 over shoot out and a full game. We lack severely in power hitting but in a full game we have a somewhat balanced side however still a few useless players need to be gotten rid of.

Shaheen and Naseem are awful .. Spicy tracks in ODI series helped both of them. Pace that Shaheen has now is bread and butter for batsmen like Sanju or Tilak

Everyone comes in swing from the hip. They do not gauge pace of the wicket, grip or anything. Warner for all his aggression was always calcuative. That balance is missing. Almost everyone in this line up looks like a lottery player.

Honestly bro, he's been a good captain so far. Still a rubbish batsmen and he's still a very selfish cricketer when it comes to batting.

He'll never put his team ahead of himself. But when it comes to utilising bowlers and field placements, he's been very good. Can't lie on that. To top it off he actually listens to his fielders and bowlers on placements. Something Babar didn't do.

Sanju and Tilak vs Shaheen and Naseem would be a horror show.

we'd get a record breaking 350 in t20 lol

Give Rizwan/JG proper selectors and he will take Pakistan to top 3 in ODIs and T20Is, but Aqib threatens to hold the team back with his self-centered, agenda-driven selections.

The problem is not the pace. Shaheen and Naseem would have been cannon fodder even if they had more pace.
What did Rauf and Abbas have? Clever Change ups, slower bouncer outside off

What playing 11 would you have selected?

Great to have you back here 😁

171 is the average T20I total from completed innings at this ground.
That was attainable if they were selective about which bowler to target which ball to target. No left hander as well in order to throw the line and length of bowlers.

This is the perfect score for our tuk tuk accumulators, would be a big shock if we lose this one.

that can work on slower tracks like the one in Sydney. Problem is pace when you bowl in Power Play , pitch is fresh and fielders are in , you get pummeled at 130-132

Rizwan, Saim, Babar and Fakhar - this must be the top 4.

Rizwan-Babar is the best opening pair in the world but if you have to play Saim then you have to open with him, and the alternatives to Saim like Sahibzada are not good.

The rest of the players pick themselves because of lack of alternatives.

I have a huge problem with Aqib for not selecting Fakhar when he is the best middle-order batsman in this format in the country.

I tend to get really excited about new players, even though my years of experience in cricket give me a good sense of what they’re capable of. I know I can be wrong, and I’ve been proven wrong many times before. I think when it comes to having a promising spinner on the team, it’s something that’s bound to excite any Pakistani fan! :)
Yes that's for sure!

Story of the whole series:

Keep giving Rauf wickets. Surely you learn by now!
The real story of the whole tour is people who hyped Inglis just to throw mud at Rizwan got owned.

2 shahs got smoked today

8-0-83-0 Shaheen and Naseem
12-0-60-9 Abbas, Rauf & Muqeem

Both Naseem and Shaheen need to show the door. Such overrated bowlers.

The way AUS started (52/0 in 3’3), a PCT of few months back probably would have ended chasing 210 - lots of credit should go to Riz (& Gillespie as well) for the attacking instinct - even in T20 (or T10), timely wicket is the king of the game and had Aga not dropped Stoinis, PAK probably would have required to chase less than 135.

This should be PAK cricket- raw but expressive, non methodical but relentless, reckless but fearless as well. Under Babar, before him under MoYo, Misbah, Azhar, I found PAK team almost scared of humiliation; Sarfraz tried to change it but he probably didn’t have someone like Aussie Gillespie.

I wish, chasing 147, PAK should target to chase it inside 17-18 overs - be it ends in all out 125 in 15; so it be but that change of attitude should be tempting. It’s a meaningless T20 - hardly matters if it’s sacrificed for a redemption.

It’s obvious that Fakhar’s exclusion had more to do with factors beyond Aqib’s paycheck.

And let’s be real—it’s a complete farce to claim Fakhar is a middle-order batter. He’s arguably the best option to open in T20s.

Sure, his strike rate might be similar and his average lower than Babar and Rizwan’s, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s an opener through and through.

This has more to do with Australia’s con artist slogging line up because you cannot call this a batting line up outside IPL motorways. If there were Warner, Marsh or Travis Head, they would have made sure to embarrass Pakistan on this pitch.

Fakhar has been clearly inferior to Babar and Rizwan as a T20I opener. His numbers don’t lie. They are poor.

He might be an opener but he hasn’t figured out how to do it in T20Is. It seems more mental than anything but he hasn’t figured out how to get over it.

In the middle-order, he has been really good and based on what he has done at 4, he is clearly the best bet at that position.

He should never open ahead of Babar or Rizwan in this format.

Do these Aussie commentators get paid by who can shout the loudest they were calling a Pak player hesbullah the other day.

What is this rubbish bowling from Spencer Johnson? Just bowl on the good length? And it'll inswing into the batsmen?

Rizwan and Babar needs to be booted out of T20I format. I have had enough. 2025 is starting and Pakistan are still opening with two accumulators.

I was about to type there is strong breeze in the stadium and it may swing.babar went against the wind and got out
