I think if 160 is the "intention" and to defend it is the "intention" , Pakistan will suffer hugely in this World Cup.

I could be wrong, but this is how I see it now.

Dew, he's struggling to grip the ball hence lengths are off. Then again he always has a bad ball in him which he tends to get away with in T20s.

Do we have the players to score 200 consistently? Our openers bat with the fear that once they get out, the rest will fold like a pack of cards

No.

That simply doesn't happen.

This is just a fear that "it might happen" which prevents Pakistan from having the right "intention".
 
Babar has slowed down considerably which is usually the case with him. Altho it's perfectly fine for this situation I hope he looks to improve on this especially during setting targets.

Teams scoring 200 consistently have good players all the way down to number 10, our tail starts at number 3. Now, do we have the players to score 200 consistently? Yes or no?
 
Just noticed the series is called Bangla Wash. Whoever is in charge of this should be fired.
 
What a creative, 360 degree shot from Shadab. How on earth can Asif not play any shots even remotely like this when he spends all his time in the nets practicing sixes, as opposed to a guy who also has to bowl

Let's say Babar rizwan get out early. Best we could hope for is shadab/nawaz scoring 40-50 ifti chacha chipping in with a 30 and rest of the batsmen adding in to score 160~. On the other hand if one of Babar rizwan scores a 50 ball 80 other batsmen can look to hit big and get us to 180-200.

How will we know if we don't try?

Today we finally tried Shadab and its yielded some dividends.

We need to score with more "intent" in all games.

We might not get 200 in EVERY game but we won't miss 160, that I assure you.

The problem is even with Babar and Rizwan scoring 80, Pakistan invariably end up with 160.

We only make 180-200 if BOTH of the fire.
 
Shameless Asif will come in at 8. A specialist batsman, slotted to come in at 8. If that was me I would be so full of shame that I would retire right after the match.
 
Good to see Nawaz promoted, but this is not sustainable. You can't rely upon your bowling allrounders to fill the middle order gap. Thats the job of your frontline batter like Ifti, Haider and Asif. If you don't have enough trust on them, better tp drop them.
 
Might as well pick Harris and Khusdhil instead of Asif and Haider
 
NZ should just bowl out Boult and southee here

Pakistan can only lose if the rr goes over 9

Because they are set and produced good results in last few years. But you are right, we could have experimented, but again dont have any genuine opener in the side.
 
Nawaz needs to practice his "finishing" here and treat it as 46 needed off 20

5. Nawaz
6. Haider or any other alternative
7. Iftikhar
8. Haris
9. Shaheen
10. Waseem Jr
11. Naseem

I have always said this team has potential to reach the final.

Everything looks fine, apart from Asif opening the innings. We are not that bad yet !
 
This is poor captaincy here

Boult has 2 overs and he can still apply a lot of pressure by sneaking the wicket of Nawaz at least

Pakistan have three mentally shot cricketers in the side
 
You things are bad ..when hitting job is to be done by shadab and nawaz instead of so called 100 140 six hitter asif ali ..wht a shame.
