Pakistan (169/1) thrash Australia (163) by 9 wickets in the second ODI to level the 3-match series 1-1

Looks like Australia should keep this side going if the want to lose the series

They deserve to lose with their non-serious attitude

Test matches are bang in the middle of their season . Boxing Day and New Year's Test got bigger numbers for each day when Pakistan toured last year .

But their First Test didn't.

Why will it haunt me when I have no problem with Saim? Saim is responsible for his own poor performance. It has nothing to do with anyone else.

Similarly, he is also responsible for good performances like today. If you want to deflect the blame for his poor performances onto other people, then you cannot give him credit for his good performance as well. It works both ways.

Abdullah is pure crap because he's a mental midget. Put a 250 to 260 total infront of him and see what happens.

Fakhar and saim should be pak's openers.

What excuses? How should Australia be losing to this Pakistan side at home? They are world champions. This is a very poor performance from them so far in this series.

So, here’s the thing: when you’re up against top-class bowling on tougher pitches, you need to have both gears. You need the technique to survive those challenging spells, letting yourself settle in, and then the shots to make the most of it when the conditions turn in your favor.

Travis Head’s innings in the final against India is a great example. He didn’t just start smashing from ball one. Take Saim Ayub today—he started at 6 off 25 balls. He showed the technique to handle some serious new-ball bowling *and* has the skills to play big shots when the time’s right. You can’t rely on just one or the other, and you need the temperament to know when to switch gears.

None of this can be developed without playing first-class cricket. Even Aussie commentators, like Warner, have pointed out that JFM needs to build those slower gears if he wants to make it at this level.

This is where you have it totally wrong because you bucket Asif Ali and JFM in the same bucket a Warner/Sehwag/Head/Anwar/QDK/Rohit. The latter saw success in test cricket too!
 
I don't think there is a more overrated bowler than Adam Zampa. Previously, it was Imran Tahir but now it;s Zampa
 
Today is prime example why babar and rizwan don't like other opening. They don't like others taking credit for wins, it effects their market value

My point was that test cricket popularity in not decreasing like you were claimed.

Test cricket will remain forever untill cricket will be played and real cricket fans only care about test results along with ICC tournaments .

This is not what I meant. You have to figure out the process. This should be based on data and proven performance in domestic. Once you’ve identified the right talent, then you need to have faith in the players and allow them failures as they develop.
Saim Ayub’s domestic performances are very strong. He looked one of the best players in the recent Pakistan CUP, Champions Cup, QEA, PSL, National T20s when you can see that, then you’ve got to give him 30-40 games on the trot.

I said Test matches are not as popular as white ball cricket outside of Big 3. It has declined massively in South Africa

It has not declined in South Africa but they need much more money which test cricket cant bring for them.

CSA themselves said it has declined and you are disputing them ? There's a reason South Africa have cut down Test matches at home. No interest from fans , broadcasters at all.

When India were Last tour there stadium was full for test cricket . They are greedy like everyone so they are priorities T20 cricket but that's doesn't means test cricket is declined or finished .

Imagine an in-form Fakhar, Saim, King, Rizwan, and Agha - all capable of destroying any batting lineup, as long as they play together as a team and give it their all

This is Pakistan series now as Smith ,marnus ,Cummins, Hazelwood and Starc will not participate in 3rd ODI.

Good time for Rizwan to starting the captaincy stints as an series win over Aussie in australia.

It's nice to see but I am more about enjoying these performances in a vacuum than reading too much into them. The goal right now should be defending the CT and performing well in the South Africa test series. Personally, I think there are still alot of areas where we are severely lacking.

As for India, the BGT will be the biggest acid test of where they are in international cricket right now.

Legends like Ricky Ponting and many others have praised Rizwan's captaincy, recognizing something they haven't seen in any recent Pakistani captain. Yet, a few haters still struggle to accept the fact that Rizwan truly understands the game inside out and is the best option for the captaincy.

Rauf gets an amazing amount of hate from Pak fans. I don't think anyone denies that he is an imperfect bowler. But he's the only one we have who is genuinely express and can destroy batting line-ups on his day. Especially on fast, bouncy pitches. People regularly bring up the 2023 World Cup which was played on dead-flat wickets and where everyone expect the Indian bowlers got hammered.

He is far better than Wahab who often played the same enforcer role in the side.

Babar would also be thinking about saving best bowlers for death overs and bowling part time bowlers to fill up overs. Rizwan bowling changes and field placing was spot on, as it was last match but it seemed in the first match Pak bowlers lost steam at the end allowing Cummins to play them easily.
