@Rana I get it but you have it wrong all along buddy. You are too passionate about this sport not to see it. You glorify tullay like Asif Ali and JFM, who have only 1 gear.
Meanwhile, the real template is someone who is a proper bat like Saim Ayub, who’s not only good to play this innings but he also represents Pakistan in test cricket.
The reason why they get to enjoy this pitch now is because they had the defense to see of the new ball, which tullay don’t have

Yeah Pakistan just wants Abdullah to do a Umar Akmal and block every ball so Sarfraz Ahmed could get his 100 vs Ireland in the 2015 world cup
 
I think it would be impossible for any Pakistani fan to hope for a player to fail, except for a few twisted minds. When we criticize a player, it’s because we want them to do well. Even with the least impressive player on the Pakistan team, I would still hope for improvement and success.

The difference between us is that you're a loyal cheerleader who will support Rizwan no matter how rubbish his performanceis, even if Pakistan loses because of him game after game .

I on the other hand, put Pakistan first. If Saim performs well, I'll support him, but if he doesn’t, I won’t. For me, it's Pakistan first, players second.

Player who can't win games for pakistan is no good to me

Fakhar is bound to be back. Him and Saim should be the openers in the CT. For once Pakistan should go with 2 proper attackers. Might be the first time since Sohail and Anwar. Otherwise they have always paired a safe batter with a dasher if not two safe players since

If Fakhar is in the side, then absolutely it should be Fakhar and Saim. But you need to have a back-up opener in your squad and Abdullah is the best option for that.

Its not about the distance, it’s about the direction.
I am all for blooding attacking players but you’ve got to have a method to that.
1. Attacking player doesn’t mean tullaybazi. There are 0 world class attacking batters today that have not successfully represented a FC and/or test teams. I challenge you to think.
2. Teams need balance. You need a variety of skills and you cannot have a 1 dimensional team.
 
Oh no! I went to make another cup of ilachi wali chai, only to realize we’re out of ilachi. My wife’s not going to be happy that I finished it all in just a couple of weeks but it’s not my fault, with Pakistan winning Test matches and all this excitement! :)

I’ve lost you at point 1.

How can you play attacking cricket without the element of risk? How do you defensively play attacking cricket?

It’s a see ball, hit ball game. That’s what these world class attacking players do. They don’t think, the just lace it.

I’ve seen Saeed Anwar and Amir Sohail flesh and blood. They were not JFM/Asif Ali styled “dashers. They were proper batters with a phenomenal technique, tremendous FC and test cricket experience. They were correct batters who knew how and when to accelerate when conditions allowed it

It was a much needed fifty for Abdullah! Great to see him finding form.
 
The only time I can think Pakistan have played 2 attackers is with Imran Nazir and Afridi.

That being said, maybe Anwar+Afridi combo was supposed to be the same, but it could be that Anwar took a back seat first to let Afridi have a dash. I don’t really know, people who saw them play would know better in today’s context.
 
Abdullah playing for that averages. He wants to be not out so that it bumps up his average. Not opening his arms at all. Only did once because Saim was hitting sixes all over.

No. Folks like you are reacting to day-2day success and failure. You have to focus on the process. Identify what’s a great talent and then back them until they come good.
As for Rizwan, he hasn’t put a foot wrong in ODIs so far since his re induction.

He has some similarities to Asad Shafique, playing one innings per series is the main one.
