Pakistan (169/1) thrash Australia (163) by 9 wickets in the second ODI to level the 3-match series 1-1

Rizwan dropped the world record of 7 catches with that drop also, hopefully he catches the next one (if it comes to him)
 
I recon Wasim Akram in the least year of his career was quicker than this version of Shaheen
 
Shaheen finishes it off. 164 to chase.

Please please please, just make it look easy for once.

16 runs scored post Rizwan dropped a sitter.

I still remember how Pak messed up similar chase back in 2004 vs Australia, despite having big names like Inzi, Yousuf etc
 
Superb effort to roll them for 163.
Should just come out and play with the freedom that the bowlers have provided. Should be very easy but can never fully relax with this lot...
 
It's a shame Rizwan could not top his performance today with record 7th catch, probably the easiest catch but it was not in destiny. Nevertheless overall sublime performance with his bowling changes and keeping, and as usual his motivation to all his bowlers and fielders.

I didn’t catch the entire innings, but if Rizwan is making good use of Harris's pace, that's a step in the right direction.

Great bowling , rubbish batting and some lucky dismissals, if it weren't for Pathetic fielding target would be even lower and more achieve able , but with Pak batting no target is certain to get , but if they can't even get this they might as well give up paying, now just imagine if we had one the first won also , with this lot even one match win is big surprise but series win would be nothing short of miracle, but even if we win today Aussies are not gifting us 3rd match at any cost , so now only best case scenario is 2-1. Wins in Australia never comes easy.

Rizwan’s slower strike rate is what usually draws criticism.

Just hoping no one has a baby under Rizwan’s captaincy, or people might even give him credit for that too! 🤣

Wow. That was some bowling display by especially Haris and Afridi. Hopefully they can chase this down easily. And if Pakistan win this one they will regret not winning the first ODI of the series because the series could have been in the bag. Anyways no need to cry now. Let's go boys!:inzi
 
Jamal should had played instead of Naseem or Hasnain. Who knows Pakistan may need his batting, if top order mess up.

I watched the entire innings, and he totally killed the momentum.

He went into his shell when hevshould have led from the front; instead, the incoming batsmen were the ones taking risks not the settled rizwan
 
Win us a match with your batting now Rizzi , just open with Babar today and give us 10 wkt victory , do your tuk tuk we won't mind.

It’s an odi match not a t20 match. I’d understand ur logic in t20 but with so much more time, you can’t blame false shots by other batsmen on rizwan. I don’t see anyone here blaming smith for the wickets of the rest of the batsmen when he clearly slowed the game down after the openers got out.
 
With the extra bounce Hazlewood gets from his height, our batters need to make careful adjustments to handle his deliveries effectively

Saim seems to be in that mode again where he risks throwing his wicket away. I absolutely love watching him play and truly hope he succeeds for Pakistan, but he needs to work on playing high-percentage shots, especially in ODIs and Test cricket

Rauf is improving.

Shaheen and Naseem will still be trundlers on most days.

The batting is still weak. They ain't chasing 250+ scores.

Anytime pakistan wins they don't bother rectifying these weaknesses and hence asia cup 2023 repeat occurs.

His role should be to attack and put pressure on the bowlers. and let technique anchor.
If we wanted a second anchor, then we should just play Imam-ul-Haq
Saim has such a slow sr today (and in his first ODI) and a sr of 122 after 23 T20I's so trash
PCB should tell him to focus more on his sr and less on his average. Otherwise drop him once and for all

Are the batsman allowed to play the situation these days?

I am sure if they were chasing 364 Saim would have tried to hit a few more already

today, it will be Technique testing Hazlewood
 
No horizontal bat scoring shots in Australia means you'll always struggle as batter.

Abdullah's technique is far from ideal in these conditions.

But at least he should be positive in his mindset which will result in more decisive footwork

Still 6 (24) is way too slow.

This is not a one off. After 23 T20I's having a SR is 122 is just not good enough. Otherwise, we should just have Riz-Bar open. The point of Ayub is to put pressure on the bowlers. But he has shown he is just not good enough do that in the international arena yet.

I think he has potential. he has shown it in domestic cricket. But I personally think the time has come to let him go back to domestic and franchise cricket and work on his game.
 
Amazingly all bowlers have moved the ball off the surface so far

Smith batted far worse today and this is better pitch.
