Pakistan A v England (Day 1 thread)

17 for 2 farhat not out on 11 and shahid yousuf yet to get of the mark

29 for 3 shahid yousuf goes for 10 hoggards gets his 3rd

he looks like he could trouble the pak batsmen

I garuntee this pak a wont even get a first innings lead as they are so pathetically mentally corrupt. "Oh we cant dare to better england they are to good, oh lets collapse and return with our heads bowed to them" Just like they did in the previouss match. Ridiculous dar pokhs who always let the opposition off the hook.

Hasan Raza and Imran Farhat are at the crease...two batsmen who really have to prove themselves..

the highest score in their innings was 23 by shaun udal....

so far farhat boy has got 18 to his name....and raza shaib has got one boundary.

afta 8 overs 40 for 3 goin at 5 an over

we need thses guys gto get poast the 3 figures

Come on Pak A!!! Just heard that they are on 54/4 and Farhat just got out. Hoggards picked up all 4 wickets. Just hope someone (hasan) get a half century. We need good news on the batting front.

Are these matches really being played in Pakistan or at Headingley ? :P

58 for 4. A great opportunity though for Hasan to show his pedigree.

hello everyone. i think a lot of people here spoke a bit too soon about englands total. is there something wrong with these pitches?

58-4 mansoor on 7 and hasan on 9

come on guys

but they r goin at over 5 runs which is quite intersresting considering its hard to bat on this pitch

58/5 Collingwood took Mansoor Amjad. Oh well it might be 70-80 all out if they aint more careful.

u maybe right it is a greentop not a typical subcontinent pitch

Listening to Uncle Boycott on 5 live and he appears to have changed his tune. Hes saying that England is up against it now and that it could go either way. He also came up with the excuse of teams not playing enough warm up games nowadays. What happened to his initial comments of England winning easily in Pakistan? You cant just change your line if your teams struggling in the warmups! Even the so called specialists dont know sometimes.......

Hey tba, i don't think people spoke too early. If England can get out for 120+, i expected around 100 from Pak A( don't know if they r gonna get even 100 now). You won't see such pitches in TEST matches, i can assure that(in case you are worried :) ) .

I think the PCB are trying to undermine the English batting by having them collapse to second and 3rd XI bowling line-ups.

I hope they wont be batting at the end of the day, otherwise it wont be must of a warm up game, more of a light stretch. ;)
I think a Shane Warne is needed at the crease at the moment. Just take your time and anticipate, rather than pre-meditate. It looks like Pak A need to catch the Rawlpindi Express.

Interesting thought. I was thinking the same thing. Dont let the opposition batsman get much match practice and present them with conditions that will be totally different in the real match. I wonder if they are doing this and if it will work. :13:

I have to say it is rather cheeky tactics by the PCB to give England these green tops when the test wicket (I hope) will be nothing close to this. Still this is a test series, and it is all gamesmanship anyway! But I guess from an English perspective I am not too worried, as it was quite similar last time. Though there is a negative from the Pakistan point of view as their fringe players have not really been given a good opportunity to make a case. Will they drop one of their pacers who struggle on a flat test deck for somebody who took a stack of wickets against England on a dicey wicket? You can't really make a good comparison!

Also doesn't help the batsmen trying to crack into the Pak team.

Pakistan A 73/5 (17 ov)
Batsmen: R B 4s 6s S/R
Hasan Raza 18 30 2 0 60.00 not out
Amin-ur-Rehman 6 16 1 0 37.50 not out

Gwan Pak A, lets get a lead this time. Unlike Patron's batsmen who spoiled the hard work of the bowlers. GWAAAN RAZ!!!

85/5

Hasan Raza not out 24 from 44 balls. He has got himself a start. If he can go on and get a big score here, in difficult conditions, that would surely put him in contention for the number 6 spot.

Other than that......England were completely and utterly anhilated by a bowling attack which most people on here considered weak!

Flintoff just hit hasan raza with a delivery. Already working up some pace. Harmison doesnt look to be as much a threat as freddie

91/5
nice partnership devoloping.....hopefully these 2 can take us too a min of 126

91 for 5. Partnership building here...33 runs so far. Come on boys.

i would have loved to see a raza amjad combo.

good to see raza applying himself in seamers paradise

103 for 5

Hasan Raza not out 32 (keep going Hasan bhai....this is your chance. Keep going!)
Amin ur Rehman not out 22

Partnership of 45 runs

23 behind

Come on Hasan - do well here and you've done what you can.
BTW, RobIN, who did you say would be getting the first innings lead :D

yeah i did :D

just one over to go and raza loses his concentration. What's with pak bats getting dismissed just before end of play?

How can this fool giles who loves the around the wicket line up the batsmen's ar$e get an lbw decision. Damn chamcha umpires wanna help england out, denied the captain a half century and maybe more. Well done raza for playing a truly captains innings.

Well I do hope Pakistan enjoy playing their warm ups for the England tour on the Rose Bowl's practice square...

Why the sour grapes Billy over the past 5 years England has produced some of the worst wickets ever for test match cricket, series against South Africa is a perfect example of what I am talking about.

What an awful wicket, i'm wondering whether we should prepare something similar for the tests? :D

Simply not true

The SA Trent Bridge wicket was a shocker, but over the past 5 years the test pitches in England have been the best i can ever remember.

Besides, Billys point is fair enough. The PCB have decided to give England 2 warm-up games on greentops & will play the test on a dry spinning wicket.

The PCB did this in 2000 too, and then unleashed Saqlain,Danish & co....

At least we give you decent oppo! Everytime Pak tour England they get to play the British Universities ?!?!? pathetic

From what ive seen so far, England could have a tough time in pak and dare I say it, India will hammer them

I went to Bagh-e-Jinnah this afternnon to see the proceedings. Quite tight security as they had cordoned off the area and had blocked some entrances to the massive park. Nevertheless, I watched roughly half an hour's play before tea-time.
