Pakistan and India declared joint winners of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2018

Absolutely pathetic from Pakistan. From 4-1 at half time to 4-4 at full time. Now we have a penalty shoot. Pakistan were embarrassing in second half. They took it easy and let malay roll them over
 
Pakistan was leading 4-1 against Malaysia in the semi final at half time, but Malay clawed their way back and equalized 4 minutes before time.

4-4 and now we have penalty shootout
 
2-0 to Pakistan after 2 tries for both sides

Congratz Pakistan your in the finals by shameful performance leading 4-1 and allowing Malaysia to come back to the game, well done Malay you made a strong comeback and despite Malay not having a good penelty shootout record vs Pakistan I thought maybe they would win since they had all the momentum. Good luck Pakistan tmr and need to work on playing better 3rd and 4th quarter
 
Pakistan win 3-1 on penalty shoot. Should have won this easily in regular time.

Took to easy and rested on their laurels in typical Pakistani fashion..... seems like taking foot off of pedal is national trait.

No they got tired and exhausted as usual after the first half. We need to score atleast 3 against India in first half in final to have any chance of winning.

Japan are making a right fist of it... 1-1 in the 3rd quarter... Indian win not guaranteed atm.
 
If Japan can score two against India then so can we if not more. India start as the favourites no doubt about it. It would just be like us to win the all important final after losing the earlier match.
 
India's level is dipping while Pakistan seems to have started peaking. Should be a good match tomorrow, Green Shirts are due a win against us and I think tomorrow might just be the day. All I want is a high scoring thriller whichever way the result swings.
 
Pakistan and India face off in the final of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat today (Sunday).

The green shirts had overcome a strong Malaysian side in the semifinal 3-1 in the shootout after a 4-4 draw in the regulation period to play their fifth consecutive Asian Champions Trophy final.

India, on the other hand, edged out Japan 3-2 in their semi-final match.

In their earlier meeting in the tournament, India beat Pakistan 3-1.

Pakistan wins Semifinal against Malaysia on Shootout

The last time the sub-continent rivals met in the final of the tournament was in 2016 when India defeated Pakistan 3-2 to lift the title for the second time. Both India and Pakistan have won the trophy twice with Pakistan winning the title in 2012 and 2013 while India was named champions in 2011 and 2016.

The match between Pakistan and India will start at 10:10pm Pakistan Standard Time

It looks like match has been delayed for an hour or there is just delay in the stream.
 
I thought hockey was one game which never stopped due to rain. Must be pouring heavily.
 
In some games I have seen including World Champions trophy, Pak team loses all the energy in the last 2 quarters. They lack fitness I am not sure. Also I noticed that left wing is weak and most of the attack gets shifted to the right.

India, Pakistan to share the trophy, no reserve day. What a dampener.
 
Confirmed guys India and Pakistan will share the trophy not what I wanted to see I rather we lost but have a game or win but have a game. It will be nice to see the two teams together posing with the trophy can bring a good message of peace
 
LOL bronze medal and 5th/6th playoff matches were played but no finals, utter incompetency by the organizers. How can there be no reserve day for gold medal match in today's age? And astro turf is played on watered surface, surely drainage could have been possible once the rain stopped.

India clearly missing out another wonderful opportunity to smash Pakistan in a big final. Sucks to be sharing the trophy when you are clearly the much better side. Never expected this from Hockey. The organizers must hang their heads in shame.
 
What the heck? Was finally feeling some hype for a hockey match. Shame
 
Would have lost anyway, but this does not feel like a "win"


Would much rather have a full match and go down fighting.
