Hopefully Haris Sohail can find some touch.

Others like Abid and Kashif get a chance to show their capabilities and put pressure on others.

I think this is last chance saloon for Haris , if does not get atleast a 50, should be dropped

Pak XI: Abid Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Shan Masood, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq (c), Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan (wk), Kashif Bhatti, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Abbas, Muhammad Musa.

This one is pretty mediocre team. While some Pak players like Babar, Shaheen and Naseem should be rested but performances of players against this team shouldnt be considered for the first test. I guess only confusion remaining is Abbas or Imran Khan snr after the fifer from the later.

I think there is no point of playing Naseem as he is just coming from QAE trophy and has bowler decent 8 overs to show his form in the last practice match as well. Bowl him maybe few overs and then rest him before the 1st test. Also no need for Babar to play against this bowling attack, he has already played a better attack and showed decent form with a big 100.

Interesting that Azhar is not playing. One would think he needs the practice.

Also, why risk Rizwan's finger injury? I'd be all for Abid if he was a proper keeper. But he didn't seem comfortable at all the other day and can't have the ball popping out if Smith every edges one.

True however, with Azhar’s knee issues I dont think they wanna risk him against this bowling attack in comparison to which net practice might be better for him. Also Azhar is coming of a decent form from QAE with 2 100s and 2 50s from 5 matches and he has already played in Australia before he knows the conditions reasonably well too.

I agree unless Rizwan’s finger is 100% now and they think he doesnt have any issue.

Makes sense. Also helps Imam and Abid Ali get some time with the bat. I guess against this lot I'm looking forward to seeing how Kashif Bhatti does. And Musa too.

Seems like Imam is bringing he T20 form in the match as strokeless wonder shan masood watch from other end...

Imam wants to make a statement I think Haris is in danger if he fails here and Imam gets score

Imam Ul-Haq is out

Imam Ul-Haq - 44 (67), 8x4 c Perry b Pope

22 Overs - Pakistan are 75/2

Abid Ali - 0 (3) c Doran b Grant
Imam Ul-Haq - 44 (67), 8x4 c Perry b Pope
Shan Masood - 21* (59), 3x4
Haris Sohail - 2* (3)

Haris Sohail out for 2. If he plays the first test after 6 consecutive failures with the bat then God help us

Imam should have solidifyed his spot in the team. Haris Sohail should be dropped now. He has had failures in all 3 innings now. And 6 if you count t20is.

Haris Sohail is gone for 2 runs...

I am really dissapointed to how badly he has performed. His solid WC performances, espicially the 89 against South Africa really made him look a very promising player, now he has gone down so much in the space of a few months. However, I still have hopes for him, He is still a very talented batsman with a brilliant technique. He should have not been playing T20s and should be playing T20s (probably) ever again

What brilliant technique? Havent u seen he doesnt take his front foot across to balls outside off stump and edges so often. He plays well inside the line of the ball.

Lol that non-striker is a slow runner.

Shan is getting valuable time on the pitch hope babar also gets to bat today

Shan needs to stop throwing it away when set, did the same in South Africa, although admittedly over there he often ran out of partners.

:fifty runs partnership.

Both these batsmen form will be critical for Pakistan in test Matches.

Babar going too hard again needs to tone it down and at at a test match SR

Pakistan are 5-230 at TEA.

Babar Azam is taking on the bowlers with a 38-ball 43 (6 fours and a six).

Asad Shafiq is steady on the other end with 33 runs off 65 balls (3 fours).

All the Test batsmen except Azhar have had a decent outing this week. Haris is obviously unselectable.

1. Imam
2. Azhar
3. Shan
4. Shafiq
5. Babar
6. Rizwan (wk)
7. Iftikhar
8. Yasir
9. Naseem
10. Abbas
11. Shaheen

The tail is too long, as always with Misbah’s reluctance to select all-rounders.

The main danger is of Misbah trying to pick Imran instead of Naseem or SSA. That would be catastrophic, but I suspect it’s what he’ll do.

PAK 253/5 (64 overs)

Asad Shafiq pulls a short ball past deep square leg for a 4 and reaches his 50!

Shafiq 53(91) Azam 46(46) .

And now Babar Azam drives a full toss past deep extra cover for a 4 and gets to his 50!

PAK 260/5 (65 overs)

Babar Azam 52(51) Asad Shafiq 54(94)

That’s 4 impressive wickets for the young Australian leggie Lloyd Pope today!

1. Imam-ul-Haq
2. Haris Sohail
3. Muhammad Rizwan
4. Babar Azam

Should we be a little worried about Lyon and Labuschagne now?

Pope is a really good bowler we should not be scared and just admire the brilliance

Who is this Pope?

He has ran through half our side.

Doubt Australia will select him though.

I remember him playing in the under 19 world cup where Australia and England were playing a knockout match. He single handedly dismantled the english team and took 8 wickets(A world record).

Who this Kashif Bhatti is? Aged enough for debut. Is he in the squad?

Ifti chacha has 2 failures in 3 knocks in the warmups I hope he is not a certain starter for second test if he's had a bad first game just because he can roll his arm over

Not sure whether to be happy or concerned about Shafiq performing. He normally only has 1 or 2 good performances per tour. This is the 2nd :danish

I don't know what you quite mean.

1. Imam
2. Azhar
3. Shan
4. Asad
5. Babar
6. Ifitikhar
7. Rizwan
8. SSA
9. Yasir
10. Abbas
11. Naseem

I'm pretty sure this will be our line up for first test.

Good outing for the batters, only worry is Haris. I was expecting him to do well in Tests, but he will be lucky if he even starts in the playing eleven.
