Pakistan reach 259/5 at stumps on Day 1 of the second Test against England

The non selection of KG after scoring the most runs in a pakistan domestic first class season has to be questioned. This debut should’ve happened 2 years ago.
 
A good job by newbie here. Make it a big one and Eng will have to bat later.

last years domestic top performer sahibzada farhan has not played a single international game after scoring 3 100's and 2 50's in 10 innings at an average of 84, who knows these pitches better than him?

There is a serious problem with health and wellbeing generally in Pakistan. Ali Raza looks like he's just come out of a Somali refugee camp.

Compare and contrast to the big strapping lads countries like South Africa constantly produce. And their economy is in the doldrums too so that can't be an excuse.

See the early comments on this thread. This is what these guys always do.

Whoever is new, they'll bash into oblivion to try to convince you that Babar and rizwan are all we got.

But if that newbie performs and in KG's case said newbie being a top domestic performer who scored a century without any hiccups, They'll latch on to others.

They'll go after Shan, Abdullah, Saim or anyone really and say things like

KG deserves to play but babar shpuld play in these guys place.

Even though they wanted kg booted before kg even padded.

Unfortunately cricketers from pakhtunkhwa just don’t have connections that others do.
 
KG and Rizwan have overcome the pressure mounted by England after two back to back wickets. Next challange is to continue the same way against new ball. Good test match today with both teams enjoying some sessions.
 
Rashid Latif was saying to Nauman Niaz that KG is incapable of playing anything above 140kmh

If true what a shame really. Why we pakistanis are like this. And don't tell me that we are all not like this. I can bet majority of us if get power always try to misuse it.
Look at India how they are treating their talent and becoming a selfless team while having their own people on top spots.

Rizwan has been beaten literally every ball by Potts and Carse.
Incredibly lucky to still be at the crease

Bro don't be so harsh. Yes ik it's embrassing that t20 bradman is horrible whenever he comes down or advances ahead of the crease and he's useless avainat raw pace as anything on the offside but that's the beauty of the God of t20 cricket.

He's so good that he's mastered the art of playing legside on balls that angle towards the offside.

Hasebullah bhi farigh.

Get a no 7 test keeper specialist and a no 7 odi and t20 keeper specialist and let batters bat on the top. Plain and simple.

Until and unless Butler or gilchrist comes along, that is how normal teams function
 
One thing that the obvious guilty party is ignoring is that KG has also exposed the fitness standards.

All those morons who were claiming Abdullah and Shan were fit and it was Multan heat that got to them should be ashamed considering root batted 2 whole day's and KG batted an entire day without any issue.

Shan is not fit neither is Abdullah. You can be thin but the poor diet and fatigue will catch up to you when you're playing sports.

I'm 100% sure if Shan and Abdullah take their shirts off, you will see that skinny fat + malnourished body on display

Definitely , Babar and his legacy of stubbornness ... Good that he is dropped now.. Didnt let any performing youngsters into the team, instead they backed nonperforming Ifthikar , Asif Ali, Danish Aziz , Faheem Ashraf failing Azhar ali, Imam ul Haq etc
 
50-50 day thus far. It will be interesting session tomorrow. Whether Pakistan can take the score up to 350-400 or get bowled at or under 300.

Just have sarfi keep at no 7 until you find a replacement or have hasebullah bat at no 7, or have usman Khan bat at no 7 or have haris bat at no 7.

Either way, they all bat at no 7 until a good keeper shows up that's gilchrist or Butler level.

Usman Khan in whiteball shpuld bat higher but atm KG deserves the no 4 spot in odi more then anyone

Babar was raised upto Kohli's level , when he has done anything close to his level...

He should have been dropped for Bangladesh series and it would have given this new guys like KG, MH the much needed runs under their belt, could have saved some embarrassment for Babar and saved his spot in the Squad..
 
Losing ghulam late, tips balance in England's favour. If Pakistan get 350 now it will be a miracle. Even that's a below par score
