Pakistan bowled out for 217 before West Indies reached 2/2 at Stumps on Day 1 of the 1st Test

How Fawad has just 700 test runs as opposed to 7000 is just beyond me. Robbed off his entire test career. Sad

Useful partnership approaching 50 runs.

250 anyone?

Possible if one of them can go to 70-80 and the other one also crosses 50. Yasir and Hassan’s cameos can be important as well.

Fawad once again showing his class in comparison to Azhar ... same pitch yet vastly different results from both ... What a travesty that one played for a decade plus while the other more deserving one will barely play 5 years

47 runs scored from 54 balls in this session. These 2 have come out brilliantly after Tea.

Great counter-attack this.

Shows what positivity can do.

Faheem.is.much more assured batsmen in Tests than in limited over cricket. Fawad solid as ever.

Babar could have been milking the bowling here if he would have survived earlier by being more compact around his off stump.

This is something he needs to learn and is a common trait most top test batsmen. Respect the conditions and spells when bowlers are bowling well and then there would be plenty of opportunities to go big at a good pace.

These two are rotating the strike well in amongst the big shots. When a player like Azhar is struggling, this also what he needs to do so he can get off strike and keep scoreboard ticking but he barely can pass 20 SR.

I said a while a go his days were numbered and this does nothing to change my mind.

It only happens in Pakistan. How did all of them just tolerate this injustice? They should have have been on the street and protest hard until PCB take him. It is not only Fawad, ultimately it was team Pakistan who suffered a huge loss.

In a decade plus Azhar has been unable to learn how to pace his innings consistently ... a damning indictment which is why his avg. has dipped below 45 and on the downhill steadily

Look at those eyes of Faheem, measuring up the Michael Holding stand to launch a huge six off Holder.

Oh wow I went out when the 5th wicket went down at 101/5 I thought they'd be close to all out by now knowing our batting, this is a surprise to say the least.

Azhar always plays one and half goodish innings to prove everyone wrong and keep his place.

Both were running well until this. Good fielding

The West Indian wicket keeper seems the quiet kind. The entire team doesn't chatter very much. Hardly any noise from the players considering it's an empty stadium

I have been thinking for a while now that Faheem should be tried as an opener in all 3 formats

He's got genuine world class skill in his shots

The run out could've been avoided. West Indies right back into it. Hasan to follow and Fawad might run out of partners.
He may not be able to accelerate at will considering his style of batting which is accumulation

Awesome bowling by Windies. Get the tail out quickly and finish the job.
Babar has a long road ahead to become a premier test batter. 27 now ideally should be hitting peak.

Can Shaheen Afridi hold a bat? He seems capable of defence a couple of times i saw him bat

30o is a match winning total. 250 is good. Pakistan would have to bowl terribly to lose this match if they score 300 here.

Pakistan top order bats like timid cats these days.

Barring the openers....this batting line-up is decent actually.

But when the openers give a start start of 20/2 every time....most batting lineups would struggle.

Anyways....250 is a good score on this wicket, so Pakistan still not out of it yet.

Hassan and the rest of the tail are not going to last long, so better to power your way to 250.

Hitting boundaries on this outfield takes some really good timing and even then it isnt 100% it will go for a 4.

Hassan with 3 boundaries in a row (2nd was through leg byes i guess)

Yep, very true it ain't gonna look pretty. Come day 2/3 when the grass goes it will be better to bat on.

Good stuff from Seales.

Time for Fawad to up the anti and keep most of the strike

Got out predictably to the short ball. Might get some heat from his captain and coach. Hasan Ali

Fawad alams peak years are now behind him sadly, we will never know how good he could've been.

Decent knock from Fawad. Time for Shaheen and Abbas to hit a few around and hope to get 15-20 added. As I was typing Abbas goes

Dang Fawad gone but it was a good innings. Think we might have enough for this pitch.

Seals was giving some chat to Rizwan and also Hassan.

It’s so annoying that they don’t show anything on camera or on the replays. Is this deliberate? Or just laziness by the broadcasters.
