Wow, I've never seen such negativity in my life. Whether Pakistan collapse or not has got nothing to do with me praising how well they are playing atm. Ironically posters here wanted Pakistan to knuckle down which is ridiculous, scoring at a good clip currently could be in the lead at the close of play. Deficit currently 135. Possible. Of course would make perfect sense to announce to the opposing team that your out of form opener could be carrying a hint of injury so they can pepper him better

and every team announces niggles on loud speakers anyways

He walked off perfectly fine so honestly don’t know what you are talking about, he will come out to bat just watch for yourself.
 
With Olivier targeting the crack, it’s crucial for Asad and any other right-hander to bat on off-stump so that if the ball comes through low they are hit outside the line and can’t be LBW.

Do remember what happened to Amla when he tried to shuffle towards off stump. If it hits the crack, anything can happen and only luck can save you.

He needs to score some runs but he has everything to be a good captain. Looks a mature, sensible and inspiring kind of a guy.

Its early but if he scores some runs he is the best choice for test captaincy.

Dumb people think alike😝

I don’t disagree regarding the need of all rounder & runs form bottom half, but just don’t see how Shadab fits in that - he is just not good in any key skills. Today, top order has resisted to an extent, therefore absolutely no excuse for Babar, FZ & Sarfarz, Amir as well - he has to think thin self as No. 7, rather 8.

And I do think Umar Akmal would have been let in such games at 6.
 
Shafique's fifty will again send the Pakistanis into a dilemma and false hope. He is doing it very well for the last few years. Whenever his place in the team in jeopardy he comes up with a good score in a meaningless situation which don't cause any positive impact on result. He has done it again and ensured that he will remain in the team after this series and so does Pakistan at no 7 spot in ranking
 
The trap is set for the short ball. not sure if hooking the ball is sensible
 
Both plsyers well set so should be targetting 100s here.

Look who is talking.Your batsmen just score above 400 a mere couple of hours ago and you are telling us that they will fold for under 80.
Who is being negative here.
Us worrying about our batsmen being bundled out makes sense atleast.They have not touched 200 for the only 3 innings they have played here.However they are fighting currently and it is heartening and long may it continue.
 
Shafiq is starting to go after the ball with hard hands, which is not a good thing.

Actually Pak is 6 in the rankings at the moment but agreed on most points.
 
This is classic psychological torture by team Pakistan. When everything seemed dark and gloomy they come up just the enough effort to show the fans of ray of hope only for everything to crush down hard.

These are good runs Dr., it’s not a dead rubber neither hopeless 4th innings chase. If he can get a hundred here, regardless of PAK win or loss, should be one of his best innings. Though he is trying his best to give Steyn a wicket here.

For The Wanderers I’d just bring in Rizwan and Faheem for Imam and Yasir Shah.
 
Shafiq has barely survived these drives he's playing. Might want to curb it

Having slefish players in the team can never make you a top team unless a selfish guy is averaging 50 plus.

Other than Shan all others have been one innings wonder which gave them hope that their place is safe for now.

The reason why Shafiq has never scored a big hundred (150+ score) is because he's never had the drive to maintain his concentration and that's what is happening now with some of these loose shots from him. He knows his place in the side is secure after this innings.

If Shafiq would just learn to have spells where he calms down for a couple of overs and takes no risks.....

If he could score 150 Pakistan would basically be able to defend however many runs Masood, Babar, Fakhar and Sarfraz can score.

But he hasn’t got the mind to work that out.

He’ll probably get out for a lovely 70.
 
Shan deserves a ton for his efforts this series. Played so well.

At J’burg Yasir shouldn’t play in any case. Highlands are not the place for spinners. Fahim not sure but definitely won’t do worse than Imam with bat. If Rizwan is to play, Sarfraz needs to get “injured”, it’s not fair to play a WK as specialist bat and judged on that. Fahim for Imam & Hasan for Yasir will be my pick - that’ll also help to get Sarfraz banned for slow over rate; looks like PCB doesn’t have the balls to sack him.

Majestic from Asad; this guy knows how to drive - did you ever watched Zaheer live? I mean at Test ground, or at Bristol?
 
All people saying in NZ series that RR is low should realize by seeing this that it depends on the pace of the pitch.
 
Shan himself said that those who get in need to go big. Time to live up to it, make this 50 a 100.
