What's new

Pakistan collapse to 190 all out at stumps on Day 2, set South Africa target of 149 to win

Let the game finish and then you all can start crying. SA still needs to knock off 150 odd. Sure we could and should have done a lot better but lets support the team and inshallah they will pull it off!

That's the spirit, but the talk tonight should be very different from what it is

Faisalabad 1997
South Africa set us up 144 in 4th innings.
Pollock Donald Symcox ripped pak team apart under 100.

Can pakistan return favor ?

That's what the boys should be watching tonight.
Then again I guess they have seen the same collapse by Pak team many times over in the last 15 months!!!!!!!!!

180 plus would have been enough on this pitch I am certain of that. Really disappointed with the collapse .

I think 200 would be a safe score to defend for this strong Pakistani bowling lineup against a week South African side but I still think pakistan can defend this total

Defending this total will be difficult. Will take 1 quick 40/50 and the game will almost be up.

Sarfraz has been the only consistent one in both innings :) out for zero.. Rest all have performed in first innings but failed in second innings or vice versa (babar, imam, azhar.,etc)

180 would have been a fighting total...to stay in the game for little bit longer.

Please Pakistan be bold and drop Asad?

Any other team on the planet will go for this line up in the next test...

Fakhar
Shan
Azhar
Haris
Babar
Riz
Shadab
Faheem
Amir
Hasan or ABBAS
Afridi

Why would u want to go with Fakhar?
His technique is so poor
Imam is a better shout out of the two.

Yes.scoring against him is the real deal,no disrespect to Steyn and Babar's innings

Its like Indians hyping bashing Starc when Cummins has been better

Steyn is still great and I'm pretty sure Babar batted against more than one bowler...

Imam has to go...50 in this inns commendable but that shouldnt be enough to save his test career thus far...
He is outta touch for test cricket at the moment and it shows...

Was really disappointed. Even a lead of 200 would have been challenging, only we can collapse like that, we had started so well in this innings. I think so many of our dismissals were avoidable. Babar Azam got a beauty and there was some good bowling by SA but Azhar's technique was awful and led to his dismissal and Shafiq's wicket was unforgivable.

I actually thought we would win this, especially when Imam and Shan were looking comfortable. I expect SA to lose about 5 wickets tomorrow. I hope the media put a lot of pressure on Sarfaraz and Mickey Arthur for this useless performance.

So by not declaring at 9 down, Pakistan don’t bowl at all tonight, whereas they would have had 4 overs had the innings closed before 5.20 pm.

What is wrong with Sarfraz’s brain?

He’s only got 3 quicks, and I’d rather defend 144 from 6-2 overnight than 149 with all 10 wickets intact.

I’m 50 years old but my brain adapts to rapidly changing circumstances. But Sarfraz seems incapable of that.

You expect Sarfraz to not adapt to "changing circumstances", but rather to be able to see the future. If he had known that the 10th wicket partnership would produce only 5 runs, he may have declared when the 9th wicket fell. However as the 9th wicket partnership produced 26 runs (more than the total of the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th), he probably expected the 10th wicket to produce a lot more than 5.

Terrible batting again. The bowlers won't be able to bail us time and time again. We deserve to lose this Test. There is no point saying who has to go unless we have better replacements which we don't.

Predicting a draw.

I had a look at weather forecast, rain begins around lunch time. As long we get them five down before that for 50 odd runs, we should be fine. Expecting Yasir to get the new ball unless it’s gloomy and overcast

Isn't lunch time after 30 overs?
SO at that point they would probably score around 90 runs so around 6 wickets should have fallen to have a chance.
Also there is a lot of cloud cover tomorrow, very good bowling conditions.

If they can’t keep the score rate between 2 to 2.5 then it’s a problem

It is disappointing to see batting collapses like this after being in such great position to dominate the test they lost the initiative now the miracle can save this game ....

Frankly speaking Sarfraz needs to leave tests giving captaincy to Azhar, and let someone like Fawad Alam or Saud Shakeel take his place
