Even in uae this batting line up is rotten to the core sarfraz is a no:12 imam & shan look like getting out any ball azhar & asad less said the better.
 
Impressed with Masood. Could be a career defining innings. Masood should open, Azhar one down, Babar at 4 and Fakhar at 6 would make this line up stronger
 
Would Olivier be the first bowler to be dropped the very next test after taking a 10fer? Or will SA play a 4 man pace attack?

Azhar should open with Masood at 3. Masood struggles against swing and is also a far more fluent strokemaker than Azhar. A bit like Usman Khawaja in my opinion
 
Must say Hassan has improved mentally in his batting a lot after NZ series. Never understood why is Yasir positioned over him

I'm convinced we need a new batting coach Shan is doing well.

Imam was good for the first few innings he played

Safraz was doing fine

Asad has regressed

Definitely something to do with our batting coach
 
yup Harris comes in for Fakhar for now, and is it somehow possible to drop our captain mid series,,

With Masood on strike there are five fielders on the boundary.

Every delivery should be a sprinted 2 runs.

When teams'Captain, deputy & sr most batsman plays the worst 3 shots, this is what happens - they are losing a Test in one session from winning position!!!!!!!!

We have handed the last 3 test match defeats on a plate to the oppo after having upper hand in all of them. Home and away, batting first and batting last. We have something to build on

In WI against that WI team BD started with a choke and got 40, 50 odd in both innings. :kp

Not declaration, rather go after the ball and get moving - but the idea is correct, 12 overs left today, which should give Amir opportunity to bowl 10-12 overs with new ball either side of stumps.

It's no use. The coach, captain and selectors are happy with the way things are moving.

Contradicts with your prediction of seeing this total off with 8 wickets to spare.
 
Pakistan should play shots. SA will love to simply not having to bat today and if that's the case then better get some runs.

I thought Masood is an opening batsman. No? Azhar and Babar at 3,4 is perfect IMHO
 
Golden runs. Anything added by this pair will be a huge bonus.

I one innings actually - 43, that can happen - like 49 happened last time at J'burg .........

In modern times, there is only one example of choking out twice in one Test for 54 & 58 .... and lose out to one single innings of Mathew Hayden's 119 ......

I say, enjoy the game & keep things decent - houses are made of glass, when you have 150 years of history to throw stones.
 
just watching Azhar and Asad Dismissal... Embarrassing to say the least. This pair with that much experience.. The 40 runs which Rabada and steyn made ll cost us:ssmith
 
In the next test match Pak batting will have to deal with the swing on Philander and steyn and the bounce and pace of Oliver and Rabada.

We will not reach 250 in any innings
 
I think this match will be pakistans best performance of the series. Rest of the matches will be one sided affairs.

The situation has changed.

Did you see Dale Steyn wasting time? They want to minimise how many overs they face tonight.

So I’d think “declare now, make them face 6 overs”.

Pakistan lasted an extra over for 4 runs, but now there will probably only be 3 overs to face tonight I suspect.
