What's new

Pakistan comfortably defeat Zimbabwe by 8 wickets in third T20I to win the series 3-0

Totally agree in three games he played this series he has had only one bad game. He has been unlucky with some missed catches and fieldings costing him boundaries.

But he should be knowing now what his shortcomings are. And now should be sent to play FC cricket where he can work on his deficiencies while also be growing as a bowler with bowling spells after spells and develop.

Rameez asking some pretty sh*t questions

"What are the options for retired Zimbabwe Cricketers? Do they have options? "

Muzarabbani and Madhavere are the Babar and Shaheen of Zimbabwe

Quite a few young players with B S bat. Haider, Abdullah and Khushdil are which I have seen

From the little I’ve seen of Shafique, he has a nice compactness in his stance and approach to the ball.

Fakhar just needs to bat through. A 50 odd of 40 balls will be good for his confidence. Failing that we can try Haider or shafique for the New Zealand series alongside babar.

This Faraz is a proper swing bowler, maybe need to come out your crease to him

I’m sorry but this female commentary is just torture. Why bring in a female commentator just for the sake she’s female. You need to look for quality whether that’s all male commies or all females or whatever combo.

bullet has been telling us all how shafique's the best batsman in pakistan, although that might be stretching it a bit, lets see what can come up with

Weren’t you the one talking about vultures ready to swoop? :)) give him a chance, he’ll come good

Im not saying he is a poor batsman. He looks like a player who puts a price to his wicket.

A bit like Gill really.

Sana is boring to listen to, but she is savage with her comments

She’s much better than many of the male commentators like Rameez, Waqar, Wasim, and domestically speaking Shehzar and Azhar Ali.

Zimbabwe made absolutely sure that PAK is not taking anything from this T20 series apart from three easy wins - batted first every time and ended up giving Usman Qadir probably MoTS.

Faraz with all the spring of a broken stapler and the smooth run up of a tamed ballet dancer is making the ball converse with the pitch with kisses of dust jumping up with every delivery

I agree, I don’t think we should judge him off the debut match, that too T20s which tend to ruin players.

His technique and stance is a real pleasure to watch, and very compact overall - he deserved to get an ODI debut in the third ODI against Zimbabwe, to be honest

Keep talking sense Sana! like this version of you. She is absolutely right!

Why dont we open with Imam ul Haq and Azhar Ali if this is how we want to bat in the power plays?

Abdullah tbf reminds of babar of 2017 when he struggled to hit a big shot. But he relied on singles and focuses on getting runs. Abdullah should do similar. Just make some runs so that he cements his place.

copywriter by any chance?

Frankly this should be it for fakhar. He has put alot of pressure on his partner and got out after getting set.

Good to see two inexperienced players out there that require them to take responsibility. This is the excitement we needed throughout the series.

haider and abdullah batting together, thats exciting!

The amount of dot balls Fakhar Zaman is playing these days is just ridiculous tbh and yet another failure for him today. Avg
of just 10 in his last 17 T20I Inngs.

I think the opener issue and squeezing Qadir in for future can be easily solved:

Babar (C), Kamran (W), Haider, Hafeez, Shadab, Khushdil, Imad, Wahab, Qadir, Amir, Shaheen.

Not overly impressed by Abdullah Shafique, I haven't had the experience however of watching him in the national t20 cup. Looks pleasing on the eye though, but to me he seems just seems like any other young batsmen, nothing stands out like a Babar or Haider Ali. Poorish temperament too but that is to be expected from a 20 year old who has barely played first class or one day cricket (one match?).

Also on the topic of Sana Mir, don't think her command of the english language is that great but her comments are brutal, in my opinion the female commentator Pakistan cricket needs.

Really surprised that LQ got Abid Ali when they could have had Abdullah Shafique

Waiting for PP expert to dismiss Abdullah for the rubbish he is.
probably confused formats

OMG this is a seminal moment in Pakistan cricket. Two young, new players playing at the same time - Haider and Abdullah.

When did this happen last? So refreshing.

Starved of this for a long time.

one benefit of these two batting together is that it can instigate some healthy competition rather than likes of asad shafiq and azhar ali who go through the motions knowing they wont get dropped

just as i say that haider follows shafique with a six!

This is why I love Haider. He doesnt need to bounce down the track to hit spinners for sixes unlike 99% of Pakistani players who must do the dance to get any power and elevation!

Abdullah just make sure you get nice not out today. Be selfish here. Just let haider do what he is doing.

Credit to Babar for giving opportunity to youngsters to bat. So refreshing to see two young guns performing.
