What's new

Pakistan comprehensively defeat South Africa by eight wickets to set up series decider at Cape Town

Even Pakistan are above Australia at the moment.

The real rankings for me at the moment are..

India
New Zealand
England
Bangladesh...Yes Banglandesh
Pakistan
South Africa
Australia
Afghanistan
Sri Lanka
West Indies

Other than WI tour what has Bangladesh achieved in any overseas tour or any ICC tournument?

Mamoon is this another one off bad performance by
South Africa?? All these bad performances v Pakistan lololol

Fans need to realize this that Fakhar has an X factor and can change the game on his day. Yes can look ugly on occasions but we dont have many batsmen who can take the game away on their own

true but risk is too big. Just look at his scores this series. He is more likely to fail then take the game away.

Fakhar needs to work on his stance and bat position.

Even loses grip when he tries too hard to smash the ball.

you're too emotional mate, need to calm down.

bangladesh haven't done anything overseas in bilateral series'

Imam looks as if he had scored a duck instead of a hundred in the last match....

SAF is a tough place to tour even for seasoned batsmen. Fakhar only in the last ODI series v NZ scored two excellent fifties so it's not like he's been out of form.

Drop Fakhar and this batting lineup becomes too one paced.

Just in the last series he scored 70 odd, 80 odd in UAE against NZ.

You need to give any player atleast couple of full series before dropping him. There hasnt been one full series yet where Fakhar hasnt performed.

QF of ICC world cup 2015
Semi Final of champions trophy 2017
Finals of Asia Cup in 2018

They are a team that has worked considerably hard in trying to build a team that would match the best teams of the world. They lack talent in some aspects however their attitude to improve is second to none

Imam seems intelligent when it comes to chasing. Just needs to improve his strike rotation.

what have they done in bilateral series* overseas, you've ignored that

you are right and pitches in England will suit him. Main thing is for him to get his confidence back.

Shades of the old FZ! :four

Always a good sign when he is timing his drive.

Also, too many on here have short memories. He batted well in UAE Vs NZ but more importantly was the best batsman when Pakistan toured NZ this time last year (on helpful wickets).

Fair, they dont really produce the same enthusiasm. But so do Pakistan! They are a better team than Pakistan tbf

he's just lacking confidence and it's understandable when you're in an unprofessional set up such as PCT

Absolutely. He isn't a minnow basher at all.

Spot on - the problem with the batting in this side isn't Fakhar at all. It's Imam and I know we're chasing a very low total but he is unable to bat above a SR of 60 in the first 10 overs as we've seen in previous ODIs. That's whats putting all the pressure on FZ.

they have gotten the better of us recently but we've already outperformed them in south africa.

we'll just have to see how they do versus new zealand in new zealand

What's the forecast like? It seems to be getting pretty cloudy . . need another 45 50 mins of play to get 20 overs in . .

Be good for fakhar and pakistan if he can get a unbeaten decent score here.

they and the fans need patience.

it's okay if you're 40/0 in 10... as long as you're 100/0 in 20.

Imam seems perfect when chasing scores around 250 or below but I still worry when we have to chase 300 plus that he may struggle like the rest of the line up.

If pakistan is batting like this, What were the Proteas thinking??🤔
Life's biggest question

3-0 scoreline would have been sweeter

We were so close yet so far.

I remember the Indian media saying they need to reform their team and drop Kohli, Dhoni etc.
If u look at it now, imagine if they had dropped Kohli😂

If you even notice Fakhars helmet isn't the best for him as it doesn't fit him properly. It's tilted more to one side and it's straight on his head.

Precisely his SR in the first 10-15 overs hovers around 60-70 and it takes him a while to reach 90-100. In a 300 run chase we would be doomed unless the partner(s) at the other end are batting at a SR of 120+.
