"Why does the target for the team batting second sometimes reduce after an interruption in the first innings, even though both teams have the same number of overs?

Sometimes, when the team batting first has lost several early wickets, a reduction of overs is beneficial to them. For instance, if a team is 80 for 6 after 20, they will benefit from a reduced game. If 20 overs are lost and they finish on 140, DLS will readjust the 30-over target for the chasing team to 121. That is because the team batting first had already lost a huge chunk of their batting resources before the interruption, and would probably have been bowled out well before 50 overs anyway. The chasing team, however, have been denied the opportunity to bat up to 50 overs to chase a relatively low score. To redress that balance, their target is reduced to 121."

Ifti was the target of our wrath before WC T20, he has done well to change our opnion about him. Some of the others, not so much, we want so many players out but their replacements are as bad as them or worse.

Apparently Pakistan don't deserve to be in the final anyway so let's all just head home

My stance on shadab, agha, faheem and Nawaz will never change even if hell freezes over.

India kept Sri Lanka down to 172. The conditions may be different nonetheless we should gain encouragement from that.

Lets see if our slinger is better than SL's slinger :)

252 in 42 overs is not a bad score, it’s like 300 in 50 overs. Not comparing the overs but just gives an idea.

We do not, we played well, but our team needs a serious overhaul, this isn't a champion winning team, however I do believe we just need to change the opening, bring in saud, and imad waseem.

Imam/ Abdullah only one of these 2, with saim as the 2nd opener cause we need a striker at the top.

Shadab, faheem, nawaz

^^ These 3 gotta get the boot.

Fakhar I will always respect for him winning a cup for his country but I think age caught up to him and his lack of confidence really shows atm. Saim is defo the ultimate replacement and should be groomed.

Wait why is duckworth lewis less? Zero logical sense. Eh probs Sri lankan management being salty.

Regardless guys trust in zaman Khan, he'll come good today.

Whoever reaches the final deserves to be in the final, that's how it works. The team being complete and perfect is not a requirement, no amount of wrist slitting will change that. And yes I agree with the majority of your points on team selection.

Well tbf, you have gotten me on the first point 😂. I agree with you now.

poor start by Pakistan. Things would be bad if we do not pick few early wickets. There is no trust on spin whatsoever.

I don’t understand the target though - it should be more than Pakistan made as they didn’t know it was 42 overs when they started their innings

This is exactly what I've always thought. If you reduce the overs halfway through, the team aren't going as hard as they would have been, so they could have scored more.

Good explanation but pak weren’t that many down to threaten being bowled out. But anyway….let’s see what happens

Rauf and Naseem could be huge misses, Wasim and Zaman have a huge job on their hands

You guys were quick to judge Abdullah and he did decent despite being raw and under huge pressure I'm a semi final situation and facing a bowler who murked the Indian team.

Zaman Khan will cone good.

We need to stop them scoring because they are thinking of DLS in case overs get reduced

It’s clear shaheen has lost a lot of penetration. Thanks Babar for overbowling him. Even against minnows he was playing

Afridi is world class but I don't think he's fir.

His speed is slower then zaman's atm which isn't usually the case, also he's struggling with line and length. Still world class though but as I said, naseem and Rauf are superior.
