Pakistan defeat New Zealand by 4 wickets to win the 3rd T20I; NZ win series 2-1

People can say what they want, but in the context of where Pakistan is, this is a more than decent knock from Rizwan.

Pakistan do need a good T20 WK Batsman. Both Sarfraz and Rizwan are okish. Till then Rizwan should bat in the middle.

A lot of wasted deliveries. He could have done a lot better. In fact, the expectation is that an opener indeed does better specially when you're chasing 170 odd

Did the commentator just say that Rizwan has looked in good form in the series? What games has he been watching?

Dont comapre this with u19. In u19 you dont play anything over 138k. Haider problem is when it goes over 140k and bounces towards him. He opens up and is forced to play the ball leg side.

I agree to an extent, but the mentality is the greater issue here. Even against India U19, who were regularly touching and exceeding 140 kph, Haider was struggling against the short ball but still managed to negotiate the attack and hit a 50. Not to mention that this was on the bouncy pitches of South Africa. Right now it looks as Haider can barely get past 10 runs on the tiny grounds of New Zealand.

The problem is our coaching team. A very clear case in point for this is the video the PCB YouTube channel put up regarding Younis Khan’s ‘coaching mentality’. I caught Younis telling Haider to use his bottom hand to power the length ball through the leg side. As far as I remember, Haider has now gotten out twice attempting that. Compare this to the way KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Kohli play that sort of ball, with a short arm jab. Our coaches just don’t understand the modern game, and it’s becoming increasingly evident as time passes.

Hafeez is dominating NZ's best bowler. Definitely deserves a place in the test XI. It's clear he is the best batsman after Babar in the side.

If he is there for 60 balls, he needs to score 90 runs. 70 odd won't help

What you're wishing for could happen as there's a few overs left but I don't think it's required for Rizwan to go that hard when others can. 60 balls = 10 overs. 90 off 60 would be a strike rate of 150. In context of this match NZ had 76 after first 60 balls

Dont forget this is his first tour. He will get better. Kohli, rahul, shubman and even Babar all struggled when they first played overseas. And younis right, you cant generate power without bottom hand. Top hand is for classical cricket shots not for power hitting.

Good batting so far, Hafeez finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Rizwan is perfect fit in top order, he can play anchor role.
He is good at rotating strike and hitting.
