Pakistan end Day 2 on 154/3 in reply to New Zealand's score of 449 all-out

Henry has stopped slogging and is now playing each ball on merit.
 
Babar habitually allows easy singles and doubles to the opposition.

Man am I so glad that Shahbaz Sharif got rid of Ramiz Raja who had sworn to protect and defend Babar at all costs.
 
At this point pakistan can only draw this game ,no chance of winning. The match totally got away in an hour of brainless bowling and captaincy.
 
Lol, last wicket partnership currently on 88 runs. Ah gone are those days when the fast bowlers would clean up the tail in no time.
 
I don't care if if we have a replacement but Babar should be sacked at any cost

Mohammad Wasim Jr is 100 times better than Mir Hamza. Rubbish selection by Karachi media
 
Glad I'm not watching and only following scores today. It's painful. Pakistan were dreaming of playing the WTC final 4 months ago, but looks like we will finish second-last on the table. That's how pathetic the team has played at home and the management has let it drift.

Everyone from the captain to the team management to the ‘Powerpoint’ selector was getting bashed for not selecting Mir Hamza.

There is a reason he wasn’t selected and the few of us who know cricket recognized that.

Now everyone can see why Mir Hamza couldn’t play international cricket.
 
it's easy to blame the pitch but the reality is we have a pathetic lineup. we simply do not have wicket takers
 
Pakistan under Babar just look mentally shot and devoid of belief, ie they don't think they deserve to be out there, they don't deserve to win etc. He's had the exact same effect on the national team, just like how he led Karachi Kings to the ground.

He has performed well in FC cricket and deserves a place/chance to play highest level. If this is not the case then why you want FC cricket and their top performers. Chief selector should started selecting players on perceptions rather than performances from FC cricket

wasim jnr is useless as well. He is better only because he can bat a bit. Our pacers do not have wicket taking abilities
 
Where is the bowling coach Shaun Tait? What is his role in the team? I can't even remember the last time he was asked serious questions

I think you forgot the insult of 169 runs byy stuart broad in 4th test match from 2009 tour to england. Eng was 88/6 or something then stuart broad smashed 169 out of now where against asif, amir, wahab and ajmal. Its been happening from long time

Good post. Only Waqar and Wasim could clean up tail quickly and Umar Gul was also good at times. I remember even with Shoaib Akhtar we struggled sometimes.

No.. hasnain and Dahani will do the same as what the current lot of fast bowlers do..

FC experience is what they need..

Pak is a pathetic team.. In this same ground im waiting to see how will Pak crumble into pieces when they bat...

Babar has failed to improve his captaincy and it has been below standard all the time.

Pakistan should realise it quickly that Babar has just not the quality in him to be the captain.

India realized it very quickly about Tendulkar and moved on to Ganguly eventually and the rest is history.

What happening pitch is suddenly turns in to flat? How come they can't take one wicket.This is frustrating.

Last wicket stand killed off any chances for Pakistan to win the match. If they bat well in both innings then they will only save the match. All NZ tail can bat, Pakistan will be lucky to get a combined total of 50 runs.from last 4.

Hasan Ali and Hamza failed to support Naseem. If even one of them did their job, we would've got them around 300.

Pakistan batsmen don't need anything in the pitch.
The scoreboard pressure is enough to make them fold.

NZ will have a 200 run lead I think.
 
Pakistan will have to show a lot of patience here. Need to bat for 6 sessions really.
 
I have lost all interest in watching or following any test match on Pakistani soil. Dreadful wicket. It's the worst advertisement possible for Pakistan's cricket.

Shameful.
 
Abrar's bowling figure has taken a specific shape. 150/4 to 200/4 @3.5 to 4.5 runs per over like this. Pakistan certainly has better spinner than this.
 
Who is this Zeeshan u19 bowler? Apparently quicker than Rauf?

It's really unacceptable when your cricket has returned after an exile of more than a decade. You should have done everything possible to make the test match interesting starting from team selection ending on sporting wickets.

Pakistan cricket board has failed in every aspect.
 
I shall want NZ to win this match emphatically to give a big blow to the selectors to the cricket board of Pakistan.
 
If Abdullah can tackle left arm spin, he will be a top batsman otherwise hopeless

Ppl ask for FC experience in the pace attack..

Mir Hamza was the experienced selection with 90+ games and 350+ wickets with an avg of 21, cant take tailenders wicket even makes ppl wonder waht was he doing all these years in domestic.. He has bowled nearly 50 overs in the three inns he played and gave away 160 runs and no wicket. some players are just domestic ATGs

next in line is Sameen Gul (should have tried him instead, because he has height and pace will not be easy to face unlike 128kph the fastest Mir Hamza can bowl, after pitching it would be 10-12 kph less) basically facing 118kph deliveries at max speed.

Abdullah Shafique has so far shown that he is very vulnerable against left arm spin. But Ajaz bowled pies all the time in the last match. Interesting contest
 
Lol. Yesterday I predicted Matt Henry will score a 50 and he goes on and scores exactly that. Pakistan is the most predictable side ever. Thanks Babar.

Hamza has been past his prime. He is 31 plus already.

Why don’t we ever get the opposition giving us soft dismissals?
 
Shafique departs, predictably.

So far, he has had the luxury of playing on batting paradises and I'm honestly not impressed with his talent.
 
Shafique is unnecessarily trying to bat englands way since last 2-3 tests and throwing away his wicket.
 
Is there an actual leader that can captain Pakistan properly? I can't think of one...

Mir Hamza deserved his chance but he was never a threatening bowler , all he could do was swiing with the new ball with gentle pace even at his prime. But he performed in domestic 4 5 years ago so deserved his go. Pakistan don't have any quick bowlers waiting in the ranks , shaheen and naseem and then there is none.
 
We need A tours of 8 first class matches a year at least. Likes of Haris, Dahani, ishanullah, Sameen Gul and Hasnain need to play here. Same for the batsman

No player should be selected before getting a decent run with Pakistan A. We can avoid debacles like Abdullah Shafiques and Mir Hamza. We won't become world beaters by implementing this but we would know who is garbage and just bad :))
