Pakistan fightback to restrict Australia to 187/6 at Stumps on Day 3 of the 2nd Test

Hope we do well from here but we needed a lead here really given I think Aus have an advantage not batting in 4th inning. It was pretty capable too, some soft dismissals, could have been on top here, we started pretty well.

I think we could chase maybe 200 max on here.
 
Great delivery to get Khuwaja out! But what happened to Shaheen’s pace. Even if its a test, he should be bowling up 130s. He is still 22-24 something

Pakistan have got good conditions to bowl in. Must make most of them.

Yeah but I think it’s only because Mir is always used as a new ball specialist in domestics too.

Since 1999 tour we have never featured a settled team against Australia in Australia. Always had 1 or 2 key players missing..
 
Wow shocking to see Pakistan pick up early wickets for once. Good stuff from Shaheen.

If it wasn't for all those extras and dropped catches, Pakistan might even have a lead right now.

Also, it's hilarious to see Pakistan scoreboard and see Babar with the lowest amount of runs on the team. Truly dark & ominous times for the once wonder boy.
 
Real Shaheenistas know our boy is holding back due to injury as opposed to fair weather fans who have been hating on him for a year.

Despite holding back he can’t miss the spotlight for long. Real talent.

It's difficult because unlike afridi he is shorter and can't bang in a hard heavy ball delivery like afridi.ĺ

Australia still slightly ahead. Chasing anything over 200 would be really really tough.

Get Warner quickly after lunch and then it will hang in the balance.

But the problem is they have got a couple more who can start attacking in tricky situations and get the game away from the opposition.
So there is absolutely no room to drop your guard. Everyone has to be on top of their game to get them out cheaply.

We certainly need to factor in that Pakistan having a batting line up which is 2 down already with Imam and Babar. All these two care about is their biryani allowance during this tour.

He bowled one short to Starc and it actaully worked well. Even the comms pointed it out, because after that Starc looked tentative against him.
 
Yes Pakistan should’ve gotten a lead. Yes we shouldn’t have bowled so many extras. Yes we shouldn’t have dropped Warner.

But y’all already know our wins are rarely if ever clinical for the last 20 or so years.

If we win, it’s usually by the skin of our teeth.

PEMRA didn’t like the alcohol sponsors on the pitch. There was a thread about this as well.
 
This is going to be a tricky game if pakistan manages to get australia post a target of less than 200.

Many of us who watched the 2010 sydney test will still have 0 hope. Playing in Australia is heartache.

Hoping for the best though
 
IMO Shan should open the batting in the second innings.

Imam will just put pressure on the team with his 15 off 70 balls and not allowing the scoreboard to tick.

Might as well get Rizwan to bat before Babar as well

It’s the surrogate betting companies. Their sponsors are banned in Pakistan so they can’t broadcast due to them being visible on screen.

You’ve got to hand it to Pakistanis when it comes to pointless extremism and no clue on how to deal with it.

First you have those idiotic Saya golden boys looking to score brownie points with the hardcore Muslims with their stance of not having surrogate sponsors on their shirts… then you have these idiots in Pakistan who just have to come under pressure from these hardline clerics, whilst all they have to do is ban those betting websites in Pakistan so that no Pakistani is influenced into betting.

We took 2 early in their 2nd innings in the last game too but it didn't amount to much.
Here the lead is more slender, let's hope we can make it count this time.

The stance against betting companies was to promote his religious gimmick. His manager must have told him to do something that can enhance that image for him, as that sells big time for him in Pakistan

Still a lot of work to do. Aus batting is formidable
 
Warner the key here. He will counterattack and pak bowlers will wilt. Anything over 225 will be tough in the 4th innings. Will be interesting to see how aus responds here. They have never been on the back foot this series
