Why is everyone against Hasan?
Why should he never play again?
He took 3 wickets and scored 17 runs ( nearly equal to 2nd highest) in this match and will be very much required at the end for some lusty blows if Pakistan is at closing the Chase.
Ever since his drop in Semis, everyone seem to be upset/against Hasan regarding anything (personal stuff, on and off field, etc).
I know his performance is not great in LOIs, but he is still the 2nd best bowler ( Fast + Spinners included).

He should play tests. Let's not mix formats.
 
I think Babar's performance in this test and the Karachi test have proven without a shadow of a doubt that he is one of the best players of spin in the world.

Hasan contributed, I agree. Took a couple of top order wickets with the new ball and he's offered control & discipline going at <2 rpo. That's fine for a second quick in Asia, he did a job.

If Pakistan want to bring in Dahani or someone, it should be for Naseem. He's had a lot of chances and not done much with them.
 
This is the last recognize pair so most of the chase up to them. After that just rizwan and very long tail. Aga inclusion is pathatic
 
Well batted by these two. Babar is as good as anyone on Asian decks at the moment and Abdullah has been consistent too. Promising signs at the opening spot.

That's why needlessly going into a shell is always counter productive. Now we still have a mountain and Babar isn't here anymore.
 
Babar has significantly improved his Spin game (or Away Spin game). He was always good against Off Spin. It was his difficulties against Leg Spin and Left Armers. Whoever is working with him need to be applauded.
 
The pitch is not as easy as these two made it look

they are bowling negative..ball is spinning miles from leg stump. Most fielders are on boundary as well how are you suppose to score boundaries but yes singles, sweeps etc should be done. Look at the rabbit Rizwan sweeping from leg stump nearly out first ball.
 
One wicket and looks like a different match, Pakistan were in control and now SL look like their tails are up.
 
No.5 is high in batting order for rizwan.
The tail starts after this wicket so this is going to be heard to win

Tbh, we slowed down big time since Shafique went into 90s for some reason.

1 wicket now and it's curtains.
 
Out of 3 wickets:

1. Imam was unlucky.
2. Azhar is a tailender at this point.
3. Babar got out to a negative line.

Shafique needs to take charge and farm the strike today
 
Next target should be to bring the total below 100 without losing anymore wickets. Hardly any dependable batsmen coming after this pair.
 
That's why we needed to bat a little more positive. Keep the rr around 3 and wipe out as much of the total today as possible.

Now without babar, 100+ to chase on day 5 pitch can become a nightmare.
 
Its getting more n more difficult to bat. This is one monumental effort from Abdullah. What a find

Yeah, a brainfade at the end of the day. Should have covered the line of the ball but I'm guessing he didn't expect it to come back as sharply as it did.
 
Well done to young Abdullah Shafique. Scoring runs when it actually matters unlike the older Shafiq who used to score soft runs if at all.
 
141 balls since last boundary. I guess the field is mostly spread so difficult to find many but, still pretty odd. Cant complain though as far as we are in the chase but, would like to put more pressure in Srl.
 
It’s never over with Pakistan they are always prone to a collapse should be a few more twists and turns in this match.

Pretty sure there was one 4 overs ago.

But still lack of boundaries has more to do with Pakistan wanting to preserve wickets at the end of the day than intent.
 
Abdullah seems to be doing extremely well as a young opener and did set up the match against Aus nicely as well but, our rest of the batting messed it up. Hopefully this one becomes a match winning knock but, rest of the batting needs to stand up as well. As he matures and gets confident he will be able to dominate more as well once set.

Our batting is so haphazard in balance in this test that 3 wickets down feels more like 4 or 5 wickets down.

Stat was coming in the broadcast. Rizwan hit a late cut but, that was two runs.
 
If Babar hadn’t stupidly got himself out, I would be confident. But now, I say SL are the favourites.
 
Losing Babar just before stumps has tilted the game ever so slightly towards SL.

Rizwan needs to step up now and take the team through Insha'Allah.
 
Babar played well but for selecting fragile middle order & Azhar ali , overall for wrong team selection he is responsible.
