What's new

Pakistan have the most wins in ODIs amongst Asian teams against South Africa in South Africa

So IND won equal number of matches on the last tour as they did in all these years?

They were 5W 21L before last tour when they won 5-1.

Phenomenal.

India won 5-1 last time so if you exclude that it will show how pathetic India's been in South Africa historically.

One needs a good bowling attack to succeed there. Indian bowling was crap and Pak had 2 Ws in the past.

Shows the effect of IPL..Post IPL (2007 onwards) ..record is for everyone to see..it's only going to get better..

If we talk about neutral venue India and Srilanka have better records than Pakistan

Pakistan lost like 21 out of 29 matches to them at neutral venues. India lost 11 out of 21, SL lost 11 out of 19. I remember Pakistan had a dubious streak of losing consecutive matches to South Africa. In the late 90s Pakistan lost 14 matches in a row to South Africa.

All these records are built on an era that doesnt exist.
Its like the meaningless india paksitan head to head record, which is padded by our historically superiority vs. india and has nothing to do with our ineptitude over the last 15 years or so

Congratulations Bangladesh. They have only lost 9 times.

That's a great find, I was thinking actually how this table can be made of some use at least - we are on top, when it's sorted for the most difficult Asian team to beat in SAF, that's indeed an achievement:)

Don.t want to engage into that topic but it is neither pcb fault or pakistani fans. In the record book we are still ahead.it is bcci +indian government fault who is keep neglecting playing with pakistan

Against any team in South Africa, India has the better record. Just saying.

5 out of Pakistan's 11 wins are from 2013 and onwards, so nothing to do with the much overrated 90s generation, who actually had a 14 match losing streak and choked in all the WCs they played in.

Pakistan are ahead on most ODI records if you compute for all time - there win loss vs India's will confirm that , makes sense too as they were the superior team for quite a bit more time. If I'd to go by time frames -
75-82 - Pakistan
83 - 87 - India
88 - 00 - Pakistan
00 - 10 - About equal, maybe very slight edge to India
11 - now - India

India of course do lead them in the record which matters the most 2 - 1.

Difficult to get that sweet 0.00 W/L ratio. :ksi

Pakistan have been a good ODI side in SA because they have have had good ODI batsmen. I think they even have the tools to beat SA now but the captaincy is just such a big issue it will let them down.

Dont see what's so wrong to highlight the fact that SA is a tough place to tour for Asians and Pakistan have done well.

Problem with our resident Indian admirers is that nothing good that Pakistan does is of any consequence.

India only barely caught up with Pakistan after winning 5 matches against a Devilliers-less, Decock-less, Duplessis-less, poor South African side. Doesn't really paint a good picture of the supposedly "superior" ODI team.

No Steyn either, IIRC and Amla was having his worst year ever.

Pakistan beat South Africa in South Africa back in 2013 when all these guys were not only present but also at their best.

Over the last ten matches in South Africa since 2013, Pakistan has won 6 and lost four.

ABD played 3 games, Kok played 2, couldn't do jack though. It is always good to do some research before running your mouth.

India will thrash Pakistan anywhere in the world even if our batsman play with one hand tied behind back.

Please get your facts right or no one will take you seriously.

Amla did decently that year in the ODIs against SL. Overall he had a terrible year because he failed against the best ODI bowling attack in the world (India).

Yes, exactly. It's staggering to see how poor India have been throughout their history. They are now taking advantage of struggling South African and Australian sides.
